Dr. Joel Koch loves working with people. It was this love that guided him to spend his life working in the dental field. Dr. Koch enjoys all aspects of dentistry, from getting to know patients on a personal level to the stimulating challenges that a complex case presents.
Along with his team, Dr. Koch works hard to help his patients feel comfortable while providing exceptional, thorough care. He has spent the past 30 years giving his patients the oral health and beautiful smiles they deserve and looks forward to many more years to come.
Dr. Koch graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelors of Science degree with honors. Continuing this dedication to excellence, he went on to receive his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree with honors from Ohio State University.
Dr. Koch is committed to keeping on the cutting edge of dentistry through constant continuing education. He has attended the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education, Spear Education at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry, TI Way Dental Forum, and the Carl O. Boucher Prosthodontist Conference. All of these have provided him with numerous learning experiences on the latest in research and technology.
A native of Cincinnati, Dr. Koch is pleased to serve the community where he grew up. He is one of six children and enjoys spending time with his close-knit family, which includes his own two married children and three wonderful grandchildren.
Jamie is our Office Manager and handles office bills, insurance, and patient accounts, as well as manages our employees. She strives to establish long-term relationships with our patients through caring and honest communication, and she loves working in an office where the patients are like family.
Jamie has been married to her husband, Travis, for 13 years, and they have two children, Samantha and Trevor. When she's not in the office, you can find Jamie watching her children play sports as well as reading, shopping, and caring for her six dogs.
As a dental hygienist, Sarah provides preventive care to our patients including cleaning their teeth, taking x-rays, and providing information about effective home care. She is positive, friendly, and upbeat and always looks forward to catching up with her patients lives. Sarah has always liked helping people, and she feels fortunate to be able to make such a difference in the health of her patients.
Mandy received her degree in Dental Hygiene from University of Cincinnati and has been with our practice for two years. As one of our dental hygienists, Mandy provides dental prophylaxis, x-rays, and oral health education to help patients maintain good oral health. Her compassionate nature and good sense of humor go a long way in creating an atmosphere in which her patients can relax and enjoy their time in our office.
Mandy was born and raised in Cincinnati and loves living here with her husband, David, and their three young children, Caroline, Henry, and Audrey. She spends her free time running, reading, and dancing with her kids around the house!
Melissa received her degree in dental assisting from the Institute of Medical and Dental Technology. She assists our doctor chairside and is responsible for ordering supplies, sterilizing equipment, and lab work. Melissa has been with us for 22 years and enjoys seeing old friends and meeting new patients to get to know them a little better each time they come into the office. She is bubbly and patient and loves to show off our awesome fish tank.
Melissa is originally from MIshawaka, IN, Melissa and her husband, James, have two children, Haley and Jacob. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her granddaughter, reading, gardening, and watching her son play football.
Melissa is one of our newest staff member's who's originally from Wyoming, Ohio and studied Dental Assisting at Scarlet Oaks CDC. She loves interacting with patients and seeing people become more confident in their smile! Being a Dental Assistant and transitioning to the front office also gives her a different perspective and she love being able to help explain procedures and answer questions for patients
Morgan is one of our lovely Dental Hygienist's and has been with the practice since 2018. Sheknew she wanted to be a dental hygienist when she was just 12 years old and went on to study at Sinclair Community College. She has been in dentistry for 7 years, since she was 16 years old. She started out as a dental assistant to get a feel for the dental world. She loved working in dentistry so she knew she was on the right track to becoming a dental hygienist. Being a Dental Hygienist has given her the flexibility she wanted in a career. She enjoys the feeling she gets when she gets through to a patient and sees the positive improvements in their health and oral health.
In her spare time, Morgan loves to hang out with her two dogs, Chloe and Louie, both are doodles, working on her home, kayaking, and hanging out with her friends and family. She also has 5 sisters who are all very important to her.
Dr. Koch and his staff are the best in town. I have been going to Dr. Koch for 25 years and I would not go anywhere else. He is one of the kindness and most caring health care professional I have ever me and his work is exceptional.

UPDATE 11/8/2022: Dr. Koch and his operation are still the best around. Everyone here is super nice, professional, and I always feel welcomed. -- I am a long-time patient of Dr. Koch. I see him every six months for regular dental cleaning and check-ups. Dr. Koch has a fantastic bedside manner and I have never had a dental issue he was unable to help me with. The hygienists are all kind and fantastic. Even the admin folks up front are fantastic! I recommend Dr. Koch for your dental needs.

I am a first time patient so I don't know what to expect, not to mention I was anxious because of my tooth problem. The staff were very nice and friendly. The clinic was clean and peaceful (I love the aquarium) it added to the peaceful ambiance of the clinic. Ms Melissa was very accommodating. Dr. Koch was thorough. Best of all, my tooth problem was not as I imagined it to be. I am coming back.

AWESOME! I just can't say enough good things about Dr. Koch and his staff. I think I probably have "frequent flyer" status at his office given the amount of dental problems that I have. Over the course of the last year and a half I have fractured and lost 4 teeth and each time Dr. Koch has been so compassionate and empathetic. This past Saturday he was able to temporarily piece together the last tooth I broke which was a front tooth! I couldn't ask for more!

I am so incredibly disappointed. Joel R. Koch is a great dentist and I enjoyed going to him in the past. I was very excited to schedule for my daughter who is a year and a half to come in for her first appointment with him. Our pediatrician recommends a visit to the dentist any time between the age of 1 and 2. Their website even shows that they also agree that a child should be seen by their dentist no later the one! (Screenshot attached) I call to make an appointment for her and I am rudely told by the staff that they do not do their first appointment until 3. I explain that their website does not say this at all, and that my pediatrician recommended it. She goes on to rudely say, well if you want we can still do it, as if I am wasting their time and my own time by scheduling this preventative care which is RECOMMENDED by the American Dental Association. At this point I am embarrassed and upset by the tone being given to me on the phone and I say never mind and hang up. I will be taking my daughter to another dentist that has staff that is committed to and caring about necessary preventative care for her instead of making us feel as though their time is wasted. Clearly this very GOOD dentist hired the wrong staff to support him. I am very saddened. I have never written such a review on anyone but I felt that this warranted it. At a time like this, no one should have to be concerned with finding a family care provider for any service and made to feel as if they are wasting someones time. Especially for their children! They have lost someone who intended to be a very loyal client to Joel Koch.

I've been seeing Dr. Koch since I was a child. I'll always remember getting to pick a toy out of the treasure chest after a cleaning. His office and staff treat you like family. It's a clean, comfortable environment (the lobby has an amazing fish tank) and they are more than accommodating. Dr. Koch is very knowledgeable and really takes the time to explain any dental questions or concerns you may have. I moved away about 7 years ago and still make the drive to have my teeth cleaned. I will definitely be taking my son there when it's time for him. I look forward to going to the dentist, not only to have my teeth cleaned, but also to see the amazing staff. If you go to Dr. Koch's office, plan on being a patient for life. You won't regret it.

Dr. Koch is absolutely the best dentist I have ever been to. I have lived in four states and none of the other dentists I have been to come close to Dr. Koch. I started as a patient of his in the 90's upon the recommendation of a friend that has been going to him many years prior to that. The man is an absolute genius when it comes to dentistry. He is very gifted. I've always had very positive outcomes with all of the care I have received. And let's not forget his staff. They are very welcoming, attentive and enjoyable to be around. Several have been there for many years, which speaks highly of Dr. Koch and the way he runs his office. I wouldn't go to anyone else. If you need a dentist, please make an appointment to see him. You won't be disappointed.

I've known Dr. KOCH 40 years and have had him as my dentist for about 39 1/2 years. I go to him for all of my dental needs for several reasons. He's an extremely Nice person, has genuine concern for his patients and is A great dentist. I've never had any issues whatsoever over nearly 4 decades of dental care. I would not hesitate for one second to recommend him to anyone
