Dr. Jocelyn L. Anderton graduated from The College of Wooster, in Wooster, OH where she was awarded a B.A. in Chemistry. She then pursued her dental education at The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Anderton has a passion for Cosmetic Dentistry, Smile Restorations and Makeovers, offering a variety of smile-enhancing procedures. Through the Zimmer Institute and The Academy of General Dentistry; Dr. Anderton has furthered her commitment toCosmetic and Restorative Dentistry by completing Implant Dentistry Certifications in Parsippany, N.J. and Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry Arts in Clearwater Beach, FL.
Shehas lectured at Penn State University on diagnostic recognition and effective treatment of Dental Diseases and TMJ Disorders, she also supports the Penn State Pre-Dental Society, providing guidance to undergraduates with an interest in the dental arts.
Dr. Anderton was born and raised in Oil City, PA and comes from a dental family-both her father and brother are dentists. While in high school, she met her future husband, Eric, a Penn State graduate. Growing up with a father who is a dentist exposed Jocelyn to the dental arts at an early age; her passion for dentistry stems from her belief that; Moments are remembered in laughs and smiles. The Andertons returned to State College to begin a family; why would you want to live anywhere else? Jocelyn, Eric, their daughters Kenna and Corinne and son Theo enjoy everything Happy Valley has to offer.
Deanna grew up in State College and graduated from The University of Pittsburghs Dental Hygiene program in 1978. She has been practicing dental hygiene for almost 30 years in the State College area. She enjoys helping her patients maintain good oral health. Deanna has two grown daughters and one grandson. She enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, hiking and kayaking in her free time.
Julie is a 1983 graduate of the Williamsport Area Community College and also attended Penn State University. She has been practicing dental hygiene in the State College area for over 20 years. Julie lives in State College with her husband and they have three children. In her free time she enjoys biking, hiking and reading.
Sara is a 2008 graduate of The Pennsylvania College of Technology Dental Hygiene program. Born and raised in southwestern Kentucky, she has lived in Lock Haven since 2002. She and her husband Chris have two children, Holden and Libby along with a silver Lab- Jake. As a family they enjoy the pool and traveling in the summer as well as hunting and watching movies in the winter.
Paige is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Technology DentalHygiene program. She holds a license to administer local anesthesia and iscurrently working toward her degree in Health Policy and Administration. Paige strives to make each of her patients feel comfortable, inorder to receive the best care possible in a calming and worry free environment. In her free time, Paige enjoys spendingtime on her familys farm, reading, kayaking and playing with her dog, Paisley.
Paige is a graduate of The Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology where she received her Dental Assisting, Radiology and Infection Control Certifications. When not working Paige enjoys four wheeling, kayaking, being outdoors, and spending time with her family, friends and boyfriend, Tanner.
Erinn earned her Dental Assisting, Radiology and Infection Control certificationsthroughout her high school career from the Central Pennsylvania Institute ofScience and Technology. In her free time, Erinn enjoyskayaking, spending time outdoors, playing with her dog Daisy as well as spendingtime with her family, friends and boyfriend Hunter.
Lindsey is a 2001 graduate of State College Area High School. She joined Dr. Andertons team in November of 2011. She was born and raised in State College and now enjoys living in Boalsburg with her husband, Kade, two children, Kendall and Kade Jr, and their dog, Crosby, a Boston Terrier. She enjoys spending time with her family, weekends at their camp, the beach and summer.
Robin graduated from The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine Dental Hygiene program in 1977 and has worked in the dental field as a registered dental hygienist, dental assistant and front desk receptionist. Robin has two daughters and two granddaughters. She lives in Hollidaysburg with her husband, Jerry. They enjoy reading, taking long walks and traveling.

Dr. Anderton and staff are very attentive, understanding, efficient and ready to help no matter what the issue may be. The group is very professional, but yet caring and friendly!

My family has been seeing Dr. Anderton for several years now. My wife first went to her, and remarked that she was one of the best dentists she had ever seen, and convinced me to go (after an 8-year gap in dental visits). I went, and was very happily surprised. The office is easy to find, parking is sufficient, and the inside is very clean and modern. During the current Covid pandemic, patient safety is obviously a high priority as well, with a quick phone interview asking relevant questions, and a temperature checks at your car before you enter the building. All the hygienists we've seen are very friendly and courteous, answering any questions you have. They're also great with kids, as our daughter has gone for the past 4 years and loves it. Having a toddler eager to go to the dentist is not an experience I've heard from others very often, but ours is, which is a testament to their care. One other review mentioned that Dr. Anderton has turned into a greedy businesswoman, due to her not taking the insurance anymore (I assume it's the Penn State dental insurance). I know a little about the situation, and it's definitely not her fault. The issue, as I understand it, is that the insurance changed to require dentists to use some material for cavity fillings that tend to degrade, while Dr. Anderton insists on using high-quality fillings. That led to her not being accepted into the network. However, you can still be reimbursed from an HSA if you have one. In short, Dr. Anderton is the best dentist me, or my family, has ever had, and we'll be her happy patients for as long as we can.

Dr. Anderton is great; she is a super dentist. What I didn't like about my recent experience is how the staff were not forthcoming about the fact they recently changed their arrangement with my insurance provider. How this affected me is they went from being an in-network to out-of-network for my insurance provider and I was charged a whole lot of money for a service that is covered under my insurance. To me, this is really unfair and deceitful. A big thumbs down.

I had the exactly same experience as Siavash! I first thought that was just the miscommunication between me and them before reading Siavash's review. They told me that my insurance can still cover my regular cleaning until the next time before I had the cleaning service. Then, after my cleaning, I was notified that they stopped working with my insurance company, so I had to pay out of my pocket. Why couldn't you let me know before I had my teeth clean? I couldve just wasted the time driving there and back instead of more than $100. Anyway, it's time to look for another dentist.

Please don't be blindsided like I was fellow Anderton patients! After 5 years of going to her and spending (literally) thousands of dollars on cosmetic repair, I arrive at the check out desk on my routine cleaning a couple weeks ago only to find out that she no longer takes PSU insurance! I was shocked! Nothing sent to me in writing, no indication WHATSOVER! They were nice enough (tsk tsk) to submit my paperwork after I paid the $196 tab at the desk . . . and guess what I get back from the insurance co?? $58! Don't be unhappily surprised like me, I warn you!

I used to like her and her staff until they went out of network for PSU and deceived my wife and I by telling us that we would be reimbursed 100%. TOTALLY FALSE, she charges double the allowed amount under PSU insurance and you are stuck footing the bill. Refused to refund the overage between what she charged and what the insurance would pay. STAY AWAY if you have PSU insurance. Seems like greed is pretty common in the dental field!

Decent work & friendly. Like most other dentist they try and up-sell you at times, which I'm not a fan of. Double check your insurance coverage to eliminate unwanted bills.

Dr. Anderton is an excellent dentist - she's extremely friendly, knowledgeable, warm and professional, and so is her entire staff. I highly recommend this dental practice. Beautiful office and I always leave having had a great experience.

No idea why this dentist gets positive reviews. Aside from rude office staff, the dentist herself spends about 20 seconds looking in your mouth. I transferred to another practice and lo and behold, Dr. Anderton had missed several issues that required immediate care (and were easily visible via mouth camera). She seems like a nice person, but I would not trust her for dental care.

I see I am not the only person this happened to. I went to my appointment and was told, luckily before starting, that they no longer accepted my insurance. I have a hole in my tooth and was planning in having it fixed. Drove an hour and arranged childcare to be told that they didn't accept my insurance anymore. Nothing was sent to me and no calls were made. Also when making the appointment 3 days ago I wasn't told of the change regarding my insurance. Considering this isn't the first time this has happened, I would really think twice of trusting Anderton and their care for their patients. Obviously the well being of their patients aren't their first priority.
