After college, they practiced as associate dentists for several years and eventually decided to settle down in Arnold to be closer to family. They've also created a family of their own and are blessed to have two beautiful children, Ethan and Claire.
Jonathan and Laura like to learn as a couple, especially by attending continuing education courses together. Thanks to their dedication to growth, theyve gained the ability to diagnose and treat an even wider array of dental health issues using the latest proven techniques and technology.

Originally from DeSoto, MO, Gay earned her education from Mineral Area College. Today, she has been working in dentistry for an impressive 29 years, first joining JL Dental five years ago. She sincerely enjoys helping patients understand their dental insurance and working with them so they can receive the treatment they deserve.
Dee has been working in dentistry for 12 years so far, having spent the last nine of them here at JL Dental. She attended the dental hygiene program at St. Louis Community College in Forest Park and has additional training in block administration and infiltration. What she enjoys most about her job is working alongside such wonderful teammates.
Heather first became a part of our team five years ago, and she has 13 years of overall experience in dentistry. She is an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant and has undergone all the necessary training and education for this special certification. Her favorite part of the job is spending time with her coworkers!

Ever since I was little I had a horrible fear of the dentist. JL Dental staff have completely changed my view on going to the dentist. They make me feel right at home and makes things such as fillings as painless as can be. The staff is incredibly professional and nice, always providing me the best care possible. I highly recommend.

Worst dental work that not only myself but my daughter have ever experienced.. Super high prices for everything!!! We both received root canals and we both experience unbearable pain at least a few times a month from the crown they placed.. Their prices are more than double than other dentists who actually fix your problem, not just cause you new ones..

I picked Dr Mears based on reviews so all of you who posted...THANKS!! I had to have bridgework replaced. It was pretty extensive. I have never wanted to show my smile but now I'm smiling huge at everyone. He did a meticulous job and my new bridge looks like I think my natural teeth would look. I am beyond pleased...amazed...proud.

Couldn't be happier with the way the wonderful dentists here treat their patients. Very personable, always upbeat and make you feel very at ease. I'm one where anxiety can get ramped up prior to a dental visit, but they calm those nerves quickly and let you know everything that's happening and there are no surprises. Would recommend to anyone!

My wife and I have sought dental service several times over the past few years and received nothing but the BEST dental service available in the greater St. Louis Metro Area at JL Dental. Two weeks ago, Dr. Jonathan Mears did a root canal and installed a crown on my tooth. Dr. Jonathan Mears and his very proficient assistant, Dental Hygienist (DH) Heather, performed the dental work in a VERY friendly and professional manner including the involvement of a contraption that held my mouth open in a relatively pain free manner in that I did not need to concentrate on holding my mouth open. The ensuing crown and root canal proceeded flawlessly with relatively little pain. Today, I had my teeth cleaned by the very experienced and painless Dental Hygienist, DH Dee. Her proficiency can only be attributed to her many years of experience both in school and on the job at JL Dental. Dr. Laura, the feminine side of JL Dental, examined my teeth and suggested that I get a cavity drilled out that was hiding under an old filling. Dental Hygienist (DH), Dee, actually discovered the cavity hiding under the filling. An inexperienced novice Dental Hygienist would NEVER have discovered the cavity. Dr. Laura concurred with DH Dee that there was indeed a cavity hidden under the filling. As a Christmas gift, DH Dee gave me a tooth brush, tooth paste, and dental floss. I walked through the pristine and sterile facility to the front desk and asked Gay the Office Manager (OM) what the damage was (how much did I owe). I was given a reasonable bill and handed my credit card to OM Gay and she ran my credit card. She then offered to make an appointment for my next visit which would include removing the filling, filling the cavity, building a foundation, and placing a crown over the foundation. If Gay is the glue that keeps JL Dental operating at a highly proficient, effective, and profitable level, then Dr. Mears is the Brains behind the outfit, and Dr. Laura is the grease that keeps the wheels turning, and DH Heather and DH Dee are the cogs that keep the JL Dental Clinic operational. I have only good things to say about the Dr. Mears, Dr. Laura, DH Heather, DH Dee and OM Gay. I would give them 100 stars, but the most I am permitted to rate them is 5!!! If your teeth are aching, come to JL Dental and the aching will cease!!!!!!!! Trust me!!!!!!

My whole family loves JL dental. I just took my 4 1/2 year old for her first visit and there were zero tears or arguments. She loved Dee and Dr. Laura just as much as the rest of us do. The office is always so welcoming and friendly, starting with the first person you see when you walk in - Gay. If I need to change an appointment, ask about billing, etc., Gay is always super easy to work with. The whole office is amazing.
