Dr. Jim Peyton graduated from UCLA School of Dentistry in 1982. While maintaining a private practice in Bakersfield, CA he was a a part-time clinical instructor at UCLA School of Dentistry for 25 years. Dr. Peyton is a lecturer at Esthetic Professionals Education Center (Tarzana, CA) and a part-time clinical instructor at the Fahl Institute in Curitiba, Brazil. He has published several articles for Practical Procedures and Aesthetic Dentistry and The Journal of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). Click the magazine covers below to see his articles. Dr. Peyton is a fellow, an accredited member, and examiner for the AACD. He is also a contributing editor for the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Heather is a Registered Dental Assistant and has experience assisting chairside, in the front office and teaching dental assisting. When first visiting Bakersfield she saw Dr. Peyton tooth sign and was determined to be apart of his office. Starting in 2008, Heather worked for Dr. Peyton for a year and then took time off to enjoy her newborn children and returned to work in 2012. We have found she is best suited coordinating the front office for us.
Originally from Riverside, CA Heather was brought to Bakersfield by her husband's job. They have enjoyed starting their family in this welcoming community. While not at the office, Heather is busy participating in her children's school. She has served as a board member of the co-op preschool and elementary school parent club.

I HAVE BEEN SEEING DR PEYTON SINCE I WAS 5 YEARS OLD. HE IS THE BEST DENTIST AND A GREAT HUMAN! WHEN MY HUSBAND HAD A DENTAL EMERGENCY ON A WEEKEND, DR PEYTON HANDLED IT WITH SO MUCH CARE. I WOULD RECOMMEND ANYONE ELSE!

Dr. Peyton and the office staff are simply incredible. My dental emergency meant they scheduled an appointment with me as soon as possible. I just want to say Dr. Peyton is not only an incredible dentist, but an artist. He takes pride in your smile. I can't recommend him and the office staff enough.

I had put off going to the dentist fearing the worst. The last time I had been was 4 years ago (I also had chronic health issues & was bedridden). I finally decided to go and at least get a cleaning. I cannot say enough how professional the staff was & how pleasant my experience was. Dr. Peyton has the very latest equipment in dental technology and he also is very knowledgeable about the latest techniques. My experience was relatively painless, only a "pinch" after the local anesthetic was applied. Then it was smooth sailing, PAIN FREE, and our entire family of 5 go to Dr. Peyton now. I highly recommend Dr. Peyton. Don't put it off, call today. I know I am glad I did!

Dr. Peyton took great care of my father, who is 78 and had a broken tooth that became infected. He took extreme caution to his medical history and current situation and referred us to a surgeon. By the way, Heather at front desk was able to get us in the same day I called and answered all my questions. Everyone was extremely considerate and professional. Think I found my new dentist.

Dr Peyton and his office are so amazing. I think he's the best in town. He's the one you know for sure won't do something unnecessary to you just so he can make money and he doesn't overcharge your insurance so you have to pay the difference. They all are so professional and nice. Once I forgot about my appointment (even though they reminded me by mail and phone) so they told me to come in anyways and watched after my 10 month old while I was in a chair. What a service! I've heard some of his clients travel from LA. Not a surprise to me, I'd do the same
