You can look good and have a healthy smile. Most people who are unhappy with the appearance of their teeth do not realize the numerous ways cosmetic dentistry can heal a smile. Cosmetic dentistry can correct crooked teeth, spaces between your teeth, stained or discolored teeth, chipped teeth, broken or missing teeth and having a gummy smile. Dr. Gillhooley creates a customized treatment plan for you, based on your age, goals and your level of financial comfort.

Imagine a whiter, more brilliant smile! Porcelain veneers are conservative, cosmetic dentistry that makes a dramatic difference in the appearance of your teeth. If you have chipped teeth, crooked teeth, gaps in teeth or dull or stained teeth, veneers may be the perfect solution for you. Your dentist will skillfully bond and shape thin strips of porcelain to your teeth, creating a straight, brilliant smile that enhances your appearance and your self esteem.

Patients rave about our tooth-whitening program. Imagine removing surface stains and having the white smile you had when you were a teenager. Dr. Gillhooley even offers a take-home whitening program to help patients uncover a clean, renewed smile!

When teeth are missing, your smile undergoes significant changes. Missing teeth can cause you to chew differently, may cause mouth pain, and as your remaining teeth work to compensate for the loss, gaps and spaces form that only makes the situation worse. A porcelain bridge, custom designed by Dr. Gillhooley, keeps your smile aligned and your bite functional. Bridges are anchored to existing teeth on either side of the missing tooth. They are semi-permanent, meaning they can only be affixed or removed by a dentist and are a long-term restorative solution to your damaged smile.

You can erase years of wear and tear with porcelain crowns. Dr. Gillhooley uses a tooth-like crown made of porcelain to restore your tooth after the decay has been removed. Crowns are also used to restore chipped teeth, broken teeth, gaps in teeth and other damage. Also called caps, porcelain crowns mimic natural looking teeth in shape and color.

Are you embarrassed about your smile because of decayed, disfigured or discolored teeth? You may be a good candidate for composite resins, also known as tooth-colored fillings or restorations. When the decay has been taken out of the tooth, it is replaced with filling material. In the past, amalgam (silver) fillings were placed into the cleaned out portion of the tooth. With new advancements in dentistry, you can now have tooth-colored fillings instead of silver fillings resulting in a longer lasting, brighter, whiter smile. The new tooth-colored material is bonded to the teeth for a stronger restoration.

Bonding is a tooth-colored material applied and adhered to the surface of the tooth, often without reducing the structure of the tooth. The bonding material is sculpted by your dentist so that it resembles a natural tooth, correcting chips, and broken, stained or discolored teeth and in some cases correcting gaps. It is less of an investment than veneers but like a natural tooth, the resin may stain with the use of coffee or other staining foods.

Do you see a lot of your gum tissue when you smile? Many people with gummy smiles do not know that there are treatments available to cosmetically enhance the look of your gums. Dr. Gillhooley can re-contour the appearance of your gum tissue. With the addition of beautiful porcelain veneers, your gummy smile disappears, revealing a bright, youthful smile that looks natural and proportioned. The entire process takes just a few visits and because of advancements in cosmetic techniques, your comfort is assured. Call Dr. Gillhooley and begin transforming your smile today!

Your smile today may not be as brilliant as it once was. Years of wear and tear, injury, or poor care can hurt the look and function of your teeth. Dr. Gillhooley changes lives every day through restorative dentistry. Rejuvenate your smile today!

As the prosthetic that most closely mimics natures design, dental implants serve as substitute tooth roots. Each implant is strategically placed in the jaw, where bone integrates with it to create a solid foundation for a crown, bridge or denture. With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime.

Partial dentures are used if you have several teeth missing that cannot be corrected with a bridge. A partial denture is created to replace those teeth. The partial denture is removable and designed to fit comfortably and blend in with any remaining teeth. This type of denture is made from a synthetic material that is supported with a lightweight metal. It mimics your gum tissue and teeth to create a natural looking smile while still remaining functional. The partial is important once the teeth have been removed to preserve the bone and to keep existing teeth from tilting and growing in towards the gaps.

You can erase years of wear and tear with porcelain crowns. Dr. Gillhooley uses a tooth-like crown made of porcelain or gold, to restore your tooth after the decay has been removed. Crowns are also used to restore chipped teeth, broken teeth, gaps in teeth and other damage. Also called caps, porcelain crowns mimic natural looking teeth in shape and color.

If youve lost a tooth, a large gap in your smile can create significant problems for your dental health if left uncorrected. Gradually, your bite pressure may shift to other parts of your mouth to compensate for an inability to chew efficiently in the area of the missing tooth. Neighboring teeth may begin to move into the gap resulting in discomfort, pain and more problems in the future. After some preparation of the two neighboring teeth, crowns are created for them. A prosthetic tooth, or pontic, is fused between the crowns. Fixed bridges literally bridge the gap in your smile. Dr. Gillhooley creates a functional, life-like bridge to correct your smile, restore your bite and alleviate your discomfort.

Sometimes removing tooth decay effectively requires the removal of a portion of your tooth. The removed portion is replaced with a porcelain inlay or onlay. Dr. Gillhooley customizes an inlay or onlay to fill the space left behind when the part of your tooth is removed. Traditionally, inlays and onlays were made out of metal, much like traditional filings. Now, porcelain-milled inlays and onlays are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth and provide relief from chewing pain, cavity pain and tooth degeneration.

Even if you have healthy teeth and gums, the way they fit within your mouth is another important aspect of your dental health. If you teeth are improperly positioned, you may suffer from an irregular bite. While everyone wants straight teeth for aesthetic reasons, there are major health concerns associated with your bite as well. For these and other tooth-alignment issues, Dr. Gillhooley works with trusted specialists to fulfill your orthodontic needs. These may include straightening teeth, Dr. Gillhooley and her team will discuss what treatments suit your needs.

After returning to the Port Huron area I was searching for a dentist office that was personable and didn't make me feel like they cared more about the volume of patients they were seeing versus caring about the individual they were seeing. I think I made an excellent choice with Dr. Jill Gillhooley and her staff. They definitely made me feel welcomed on my first visit and not like I was on a dental assembly line. My dental hygienist Melissa keeped me informed as we went through the process explaining the equipment and procedures, Dr. Gillhooley explained her findings as she was doing her initial exam, as well making suggestions, and Nicole at the front desk was helpful in making sure I had an understanding of my office visit costs and setting up my referral appointment with another dentist. Do yourself a favor if your searching for a dentist in the Port Huron area and stop searching! Set up an appointment to visit Dr. Gillhooley and her fantastic staff!

Although the staff and Dr. Brion herself have always been excellent, I can't believe they charged me almost $500 for JUST a first time visit exam, x-rays, etc! That is extremely unreasonable! Make sure to get an idea of all the extra costs they are going to add on before getting any work done. I have nothing bad at all to say about the staff and service here, but just be conscious of the expense.

I absolutely love Dr. Jill & her entire staff!!! Everyone is very knowledgeable & can answer any question you have. My family nor myself have never had a bad experience (my daughter is terrified of dentists & she loves going to this dental office). I have had a few teeth issues during the closed hours & Dr. Jill has never failed in trying to help me or get me help. When you are in the office, it's feels as if you are with old friends so the atmosphere is warm & friendly. I will recommend this dental office all day long!!
