I feel deeply privileged that my patients have placed their trust in me when it comes to their oral health and smile. Its a responsibility I take to heart, so I go the extra mile to give them the best possible results, whether its a simple checkup or complex restoration. I am passionate about practicing with integrity, compassion, and understanding toward each individual patients needs and goals.
After being in practice for 30 years, Ive gotten the chance to get to know some really interesting people. I enjoy getting to know each person I meet on a personal level and love hearing about their activities, families, and interests. These relationships Ive built mean the world to me, and Im truly honored to have so many wonderful people in my life.
Each day I come to work, I have the chance to improve confidence, self-esteem, function, comfort, and health. When a patient sees and appreciates what we have accomplished together, it makes me proud to be their dentist. Quite simply, I love what I do.
While in dental school, I was accepted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society for academic excellence and was awarded the Fixed Prosthodontics Award Certificate of Merit. Additionally, I was honored with the American College of Stomatologic Surgeons Certificate of Merit and was a Student Teaching Fellow in the Department of Prosthodontics, where I taught design prep to sophomore dental students in my senior year.
During dental school and my residency, I enjoyed the technical aspects of developing my skills and knowledge. Only in private practice did I discover that the biggest reward was interacting with the unique personalities of my patients and staff.
I consider myself a lifelong student. Every year I take numerous online, DVD, and traditional continuing education courses, in addition to engaging in larger programs with the Pride Institute and Staff Driven Practices.
These experiences keep me stimulated and allow my treatments to evolve, giving patients comfortable, efficient, and state-of-the-art care. Additionally, as a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, I am encouraged and given the opportunity to grow professionally as a well-rounded practitioner.
Without my amazing team, it would be impossible to provide our patients with the level of care they deserve. Each person is exceptional; they all go out of their way to ensure each patient is welcomed, made comfortable, and is the center of attention throughout the visit. Our team believes in the quality of our practice and conveys that belief to our patients.
I grew up in Wilmington, Delaware, where my childhood was filled with fun, friendships, and boating on the Chesapeake Bay. I currently reside in Summit, where I have enjoyed the lovely suburban atmosphere over the past 27 years while still being close to the office.
My two children, Andrew and Michael, are grown and always willing to share their newfound wisdom, though I do manage to fit in my own advice from time to time. Theyre really a lot of fun, and I am blessed that they live nearby.
I spend my leisure time at the Jersey shore or scuba diving and sailing in the Caribbean. Closer to home, I enjoy wine tasting, carpentry, staying fit and healthy, sailing, and playing golf. I also feel it is important to give back to my community, so I often participate in college fundraisers, church charities, and support of the local high school band.

Dr. Berkeypile is the best dentist I've ever encountered! He is extremely patient, thorough, experienced, highly skilled, and oh so very kind. He even does his own cleanings. He also takes the time to explain to you what's going on... every step of the way. In my last appointment, I had some concerns about costs when Dr. B told me that I had to get a couple fillings done. Being inquisitive by nature, Laurie(his receptionist) and Dr. B took the time to answer all my questions. As a person who is self employed, I do not have my own dental insurance. Laurie even went the extra mile to call an insurance company to get more information for me so I could make an educated decision on whether or not I should be purchasing dental insurance in the future. I look forward to future appointments with Dr. B! He is phenomenal at what he does and genuinely cares for his patients. So grateful for him and his staff!

I have not been the best about going to the dentist through the pandemic sp I was a bit nervous Dr. Berkeypile was so thorough and really took the time to explain what I needed done and helped prioritize for me so I didn't feel overwhelmed. I have truly never had such a great experience with a dentist. I'm already booking my fiances appointment for a much needed visit!

Aside from routine cleaning, Dr. Berkeypile recently fixed my cracked front tooth. It was cracked badly from an impact by a wrench. He assessed the damage, and we decided to go with a cap. Although it was a time consuming process, I'm convinced I couldn't have gotten a better end result anywhere else. He is very tedious, and holds his work to a high standard.

I've been a patient of Dr. Berkeypile for many years. He takes care to do the best work for his patients. I've been told by another dentist that Dr. Berkeypile's work is excellent. He doesn't cut corners. He really cares for his patients. He strives for perfection so sometimes he may take longer.

I went to Jersey Smile for cleaning. Since I moved recently I needed a new dentist. Dr. Berkeypile went above and beyond in taking care of my oral health. He is very caring, knowledgable, he explains every aspects of best oral care and never misses even a little detail. He is very kind and caring. You feel privileged to be taken care of by him.

My dental visit was for a routine cleaning and checkup. Appointment was on schedule and Dr. Berkeypile was courteous and concerned for my oral care. Covid concerns were addressed within the office and in the process taken to perform today's cleaning. The cleaning was thorough and took what was a normal amount of time historically for my specific needs. There was a usual post cleaning discussion to address future oral care needs. I have trust in Jersey Smile dentistry. They have been my dental care provider for a long time.

UPDATE : Well, after being seriously sick for 5 days now, I suddenly found myself with severe tooth pain - think: it hurts to talk, drink water, eat, it hurts just breathing kind of sudden pain, because just being sick wasn't good enough. I called Dr Berkeypile this evening, (Friday night) thinking I'd get an appointment fo next week--but to my surprise, he stayed open, waited for me, and insisted on helping me tonight so I could have a pain free weekend. I can't say it enough-- Dr Berkeypile has such a smooth kindness about him, he just exudes comfort and genuine care, explains everything in detail as he goes, and he's just so reassuring that everything can be fixed that I forget that I used to be terrified of dentists. I know it was quite late when I left there, pain free, and feel so furtunate to have him on my team! Thank you again, Dr B. 01/09/2021 Dr Berkeypile is wonderful. He has a kind, practical manner, explains everything easily, and is a true artist at his craft. His work is meticulous, his color matching skills (fillings, bonding, crowns etc) are beyond conpare, and he has a gift for making a patient (even a nervous patient like me) feel comfortable. I was concerned about seeing a dentist (or going anywhere) during the pandemic, but all precautions are set in place, protocols are followed and the office is scrupulously clean and safe. I was very much at ease. He never makes me feel rushed, takes time to make everything just right, and always fits me in when I call. The only thing missing today was Lovely Delia's presence. Thank you, Dr Berkeypile.
