I first met Dr. Jerry Minsky back in 1985 when my then 4-year old daughter, Abby, had crashed into a playmate's head and loosened her front two baby teeth. I found him listed in an insurance book and chose him because his name sounded friendly. LOL Well, I had no idea at the time how very, very lucky we were to find him. He bonded her teeth back in, saving them, and I made him our dentist for the next 14 years. In his wonderful Cerritos Mall office, he took care of our teeth, from root canals and veneers on me to sealants and fluoride on her (her teeth are gorgeous today because of him), and did it all with true compassion, skill, and humor -- all very rare in today's dentistry. He was more than our trusted dentist, he was our good friend. I knew at that time that Jerry devoted much of his time to special needs dentistry. Not just any dentist can do that work, as it requires an extremely high degree of special knowledge, and a huge dose of selflessness and endless patience. It's really a calling. Glad to see that Jerry is carrying on his work today, helping countless individuals improve their lives and redeeming the role of "dentist" in the eyes of so many. I'll always be so thankful that I met him that day back in '85. He's a truly good soul, not in it for the money or status, but for your well being.
