A native of Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Jennifer Huffman has been practicing dentistry since 1996. She graduated magna cum laude from the Medical College of Virginia in 1996, and she had an Oral Surgery Fellowship at the University of Louisville. A member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Associations of Women Dentists, Dr. Jennifer Huffman is CPR certified. She took over Dr. Roger Troyers practice when he retired.
You will find Dr. Jen, as she is more affectionately known, to be warm and caring as she practices cosmetic dentistry and preventative dentistry in a gentle yet thorough manner, and endeavors to see each patient leave her care with a smile on his or her face. She particularly enjoys attending to the needs of her pediatric patients.
She enjoys spending time with her family especially her children. As the mother of seven children (two boys and five girls), Dr. Jen finds herself very busy on a daily basis. When she does get time for herself, Dr. Jen enjoys hunting and fishing; or you may find her horseback riding, traveling, or just reading her latest favorite book.
Chasity graduated from Lord Fairfax Community College with her dental hygiene license in 2006.She has over 20 years of experience in dentistry, with 10+ years as a hygienist. Her love for dentistry began when she started in the dental profession as a dental assistant after graduating Massanutten Technical Center in 1990. She loves continuing to grow educationally in her field and loves attending classes that give her greater insights on situations that she sees daily in her profession. She has recently been certified in Local Anesthesia/Nitrous Oxide and Laser for Bacterial Removal. Her favorite aspect of being a hygienist is getting to know each and every patient on a personal level. Working with special needs patients fills her nurturing desire to help patients in any way that she can. She absolutely loves being able to go to work every day knowing that she is making a difference.
Chasity lives in Elkton with her husband and two daughters, who she loves spending all of her personal time with! When the weather is nice, the whole family likes to go to the lake or the beach to have fun and relax. She loves listening to music of all different genres and loves taking pictures and scrapbooking memories.
Rachel has 17 years in the Dental Assisting profession and is a resident living in our beautiful valley since 1999. She truly enjoys assisting in dental care and treatment here at Dr. Jen 's Gentle Dentistry. Each year Rachel continues growing in her dental knowledge through dental education courses. 'Seeing patients year after year, perfecting their smiles and health, is very rewarding. Where else can you go in the health care field to see someone in pain or unhappy with their appearance be motivated, happy or out of pain in just one visit? Patients see their progress each time and are so motivated to continue treatment.' Rachel takes pride in perfecting the art of dental assisting, from fillings, temporary crowns and bridges to patient education for treatment options. She not only assists Dr. Jen, but can do many of the office duties to aid in efficiency and quality of customer service within the office. Her hobbies include time with her family, the outdoors and physical fitness. 'Life is short and I want to make a difference in my life and the lives of those around me'.
Reyna is a health care professional trained to provide supportive procedures to the dentist and patients. Reyna graduated Harrisonburg High School in 2004. After graduating she took a dental assistant course at Massanutten Technical Center in 2007. After two years she had the opportunity to get some dental experience with Dr. Jen Huffman one of he most gentle dentists in town. Our relaxing environment and friendly, kind staff make your visits more comfortable. Our goal is to provide you with the highest quality dental care while helping patients understand their treatment options toward preventing future dental problems. We believe that dental visits should be a pleasant and comfortable experience.
Olga graduated from Broadway High School in 2002. After graduating she became a stay at home mom for her son, but wanted to take up a profession later in her life so from 2012-2013 she pursued a career in Dental Assisting at Massanutten Technical Center (MTC). Olga grew up in The Valley and has been a resident since 1989. Her son, now in school, she focuses on her love of dentistry. 'I love the challenge of learning, and dentistry is growing more than ever in technology and treatment. I love to see smiles change: the before and after, the unhappy to happy. Making a difference in peoples lives is exciting to me. I have only been here at Dr. Jen 's Gentle Dentistry for a few months and have felt a tremendous growth in my knowledge. Spanish being my first language has been a great asset here to the team and patients.'
