Dr. Jenny Filter was born and raised in Indiana. She attended Indiana University undergraduate school and attained her dental doctorate at Loyola University Chicago College of Dental Surgery during which time she gave birth to her twin sons, Samuel and Maximillion. After achieving a dental license to practice in Illinois, she went on to get her license to practice in Indiana by the Indiana State Board of Dental Examiners. She experienced a ten month residency with her father in Indiana and, after giving birth to her third child, daughter Gabrielle, moved to Boulder, Colorado. She accumulated yet a third license to practice dentistry in the state of Colorado, bought a dental practice in Boulder where she resided for four years. She studied for two years in orthodontics, has been certified in Invisalign for over ten years, and attended a comprehensive training program in implant dentistry where she earned a certificate by The School of Dentistry Medical College of Georgia and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Colorado Dental Association, Intermountain Dental Society and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. She makes it a point to constantly update her knowledge of new dental techniques, materials, technology and methods through continuing education.
Dr. Filter and her family relocated to Salida in 1999 and have found this to be the place they call home. 'The love of outdoor living has made Salida the ideal place for me to live. I am enthusiastic about whitewater rafting, snowboarding, hiking and biking. I feel so fortunate to find such an enjoyable profession, the art and craftsmanship of dentistry... and to be able to practice it in a place as beautiful Salida!'
JanellJanell started working in the field of dentistry in 1989. In 1993, she graduated from Pueblo Community College, obtained her Colorado State Dental Hygiene Licenses and has been practicing dental hygiene ever since. She worked in Colorado Springs with a dentist who had advanced training at the Pankey Institute. Later, in 1999, Janell obtained her Arizona Dental License in Hygiene and moved to the Cave Creek/North Scottsdale area in Arizona. There she worked with a dentist certified at the Las Vegas Institute for Advance Dentistry Studies. Janell regularly advances her training through continuing education. Now her husband is retired and the two of them are happy to be back home in Colorado! Having grown up in Colorado Springs, she is feeling quite at home in Salida, Colorado. 'I was delighted to meet Dr. Jenny Filter with her vast education, knowledge and experience in dentistry. Im looking forward to continuing a high level of dentistry and quality care for patients with Dr. Filter.
Sam Sam is our dental receptionist here at Dr. Jenny Filter's office and is a valued member of our team. His upbeat and lively personality makes him a very approachable first impression and enjoyable presence in the office. He is a certified fitness trainer, and particularly drawn to Olympic lifting. Sam also likes to snowboard, shoot hoops, hike and watch movies.
