Dr. Jenny Filter was born and raised in Indiana. She attended Indiana University undergraduate school and attained her dental doctorate at Loyola University Chicago College of Dental Surgery during which time she gave birth to her twin sons, Samuel and Maximillion. After achieving a dental license to practice in Illinois, she went on to get her license to practice in Indiana by the Indiana State Board of Dental Examiners. She experienced a ten month residency with her father in Indiana and, after giving birth to her third child, daughter Gabrielle, moved to Boulder, Colorado. She accumulated yet a third license to practice dentistry in the state of Colorado, bought a dental practice in Boulder where she resided for four years. She studied for two years in orthodontics, has been certified in Invisalign for over ten years, and attended a comprehensive training program in implant dentistry where she earned a certificate by The School of Dentistry Medical College of Georgia and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Colorado Dental Association, Intermountain Dental Society and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. She makes it a point to constantly update her knowledge of new dental techniques, materials, technology and methods through continuing education.
Dr. Filter and her family relocated to Salida in 1999 and have found this to be the place they call home. 'The love of outdoor living has made Salida the ideal place for me to live. I am enthusiastic about whitewater rafting, snowboarding, hiking and biking. I feel so fortunate to find such an enjoyable profession, the art and craftsmanship of dentistry... and to be able to practice it in a place as beautiful Salida!'
JanellJanell started working in the field of dentistry in 1989. In 1993, she graduated from Pueblo Community College, obtained her Colorado State Dental Hygiene Licenses and has been practicing dental hygiene ever since. She worked in Colorado Springs with a dentist who had advanced training at the Pankey Institute. Later, in 1999, Janell obtained her Arizona Dental License in Hygiene and moved to the Cave Creek/North Scottsdale area in Arizona. There she worked with a dentist certified at the Las Vegas Institute for Advance Dentistry Studies. Janell regularly advances her training through continuing education. Now her husband is retired and the two of them are happy to be back home in Colorado! Having grown up in Colorado Springs, she is feeling quite at home in Salida, Colorado. 'I was delighted to meet Dr. Jenny Filter with her vast education, knowledge and experience in dentistry. Im looking forward to continuing a high level of dentistry and quality care for patients with Dr. Filter.
Sam Sam is our dental receptionist here at Dr. Jenny Filter's office and is a valued member of our team. His upbeat and lively personality makes him a very approachable first impression and enjoyable presence in the office. He is a certified fitness trainer, and particularly drawn to Olympic lifting. Sam also likes to snowboard, shoot hoops, hike and watch movies.

Every time I see Dr. Filter I am amazed at her ability to always put the patient first. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and I never feel nervous or apprehensive. I also love the music she plays. It is always a great experience!!!!

I felt that Jenny Filter and staff were friendly and professional. I will be continuing to work with her through some dental issues I seem to have as well as ongoing cleanings and such. I felt that she took the time to listen to me and explained what procedures we might be looking at once she receives all of the records from my previous dentist. Have already scheduled my next appt.

Friendly & helpful staff. My cleaning was a combo of Dr Filter & a dental tech. The x-rays were done quickly as was the dental exam. I was in and out quickly!

By far the best Dentist in the area !!! Dr. Filter is caring , compassionate and very knowledgeable.... The office staff is friendly and courteous- not everyone likes going to the dentist but when you need to I highly recommend Dr. Jenny Filter

It seems crazy to say that getting a crown was a good experience! I had a broken tooth and I was visiting the area. Dr. Filter's office got me in within 12 hrs. They make crowns while you wait so I don't have to live with a temporary until a permanent is available. That was a big plus since I was leaving within a few days. The office was clean, staff was friendly and the doctor is knowledgeable and up to date with the technology.

I really appreciate Dr. Filter and her staff- the professionalism and the fact that they actually listen to concerns, and accommodate. I had a wonderful experience with my crown, which was completed in one day at her office. Great job!!!

Thankfully, Dr. Filter saw me when my filling dropped out while I was on vacation. Everyone else I called in town were not taking new patients so it was a blessing I found her. The office was clean and had Covid protocols in place which I loved. Her prices were reasonable given feedback from a family friend who has his own dental practices in Arizona. We were able to review options that made sense given I was paying out of pocket. I delayed writing a review because I had sensitivity following local anesthesia but that has been resolved.

I had 2 crowns and 3 fillings that needed to be corrected. The office scheduled 2 appointments for me. Dr Filter was matter of fact about my procedures and was very efficient. I will go back to her again.
