In our office, the team and I, we have a couple of slogans that we strive to live by everyday. The first one is for our patients. There's a quote downstairs on the wall, the first that they see and it says there are no strangers here, just friends who haven't met, and we truly believe that. Everyone who walks in the door is a potential friend. They may not know it yet, but we're going to get to know all of our patients, and we're going to make them comfortable in the fact that we're taking the time to actually get to know them. They become very important to us. The second slogan that we work by, that we share with our patients also is that it's never too late for the smile of your dreams and again, I have found that with some of my older patients, they've put their children first. They've put their grandchildren first, and now it's their time and so we want them to know that even if you are 70 or 80 years old there's no reason not to have a beautiful smile.

Thanks to her background as a high school science teacher and her 20-plus years in dental practice, Dr. Jennifer Perkins is great at explaining even complex procedures in understandable terms. Dr. Jennifer Perkins didnt start out as a dentist. After earning a degree from Louisiana State University, she taught AP biology and chemistry. She then decided to pursue a career as a dentist, which is something shed always wanted to do. Dr. Perkins still uses many of the skills she developed as a high school teacher, though: patience, problem solving, and communication, among others. She can explain even complex procedures in easy-to-understand terms.

The most rewarding part of dentistry, to me, is helping patients gain self-confidence through a new smile and also alleviating fear from patients and letting them get work done that they wouldn't do otherwise. I have a couple of patients, little ladies who are in their 80s, who disliked their smiles and at the ripe old age of 82 decided to wear braces. They decided to do Six Month Smiles because it was time for them to do something for themselves. We've had other patients that were in their 40s that didn't like their smile and they hid their smiles and their personalities and we did full-mouth reconstructions. Now they're smiling all the time. Their personalities just begin to shine. They're cracking jokes, they're cutting up, they've opened their personalities up to everybody.

After earning her DDS from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, she spent five years in a group dental practice before buying her first practice in 2000. Five years of working at what she calls an insurance-driven practice made her realize that ownership would allow her to do what she really wanted: spend more time building close relationships with her patients. Dr. Perkins wants to offer dental care tailored to her patients individual needs.

After 22 years practicing dentistry, Dr. Perkins still gets excited about restoring a patients oral function. Its even better when she can transform a patients appearance by helping them attain their dream smile. She takes special pride in her ability to relax anxious patients and build their confidence by using dental sedation to complete their treatment. For many patients, dental sedation is a real game-changer!

Actually, I don't have a staff. Other offices have staff. We have a team of ladies that have been hand selected by me when we have had to fill openings in our team. It's a collaborative effort. We make sure that that new team member fits with the personality of the office. We have found that by working together in our hiring process, that we find an excellent fit. I don't consider these ladies just people I work with. They are my very dear friends. We all know that we can count on each other for anything. Whatever the job is, we're going to work together to get it done as a team. Everybody does whatever they need to. If someone's having a bit of an off day, the rest are there to pick up the slack. We help each other and we're all actually good friends.

Brittany earned her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from Mississippi Dental Community College in 2012. She later obtained her Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene from The University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2016. Brittany moved to Huntsville from Mississippi but calls Fairhope, Alabama her home. Brittanys favorite part of her job is building lasting relationships with her patients. She enjoys teaching her patients about how to better their oral health, which she believes can give them a better quality of life. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband, Lance, and her puppy dog, Stella.

With over 30 years of business experience, Gina is your go-to contact for your questions regarding scheduling, payment, or insurance. Her goal is to make our patients as comfortable and welcomed in our Huntsville, AL dentist office as they are in their own homes! When you leave, she wants you to feel as if youve enjoyed a visit with friends who just happen to work in a dental office.

Why would you choose our office over the office next door? I would say that a patient would choose us because we offer more than just the average dental experience. When a patient comes to us, we're going to spend time with them, we're going to find out what their wants and needs are, we're going to find out if they have any anxiety about coming into the dental office. And once we know all of those things, we have the start of a pretty good relationship with that patient, and that is the most important thing to us in this office, building relationships with patients. We consider them our friends, and eventually they become part of an extended family here, through the office. It's not unusual for me or any of my team members to see patients outside of the office and walk up to them and recognized them, and just say, Hi.

So even though building relationships with our patients is very important, I still want you to know that we take our dental skills very seriously. We spend time doing extra education. We seek out the higher level laboratories to make excellent restorations for us. We choose the finer materials for our patients, so that when they leave they know that they've been well cared for, and they've been given excellent dental care.
