With more than 450 physicians and other medical professionals on staff, Saratoga Hospital offers care in a broad range of medical specialties. For more than a century, we have been the Saratoga region's hospital. We also are the region's leading provider of outpatient services, from urgent and primary care to state-of-the-art imaging, pain management, diabetes care, rehabilitation, and more.
Saratoga Hospital Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Saratoga Hospital healthcare system. As such, the Foundation secures, manages, and distributes gifts to support the mission of Saratoga Hospital and all of our facilities. The Foundation conducts a full complement of philanthropic programs, including an annual campaign, memorial gifts, special events, major gifts, capital campaigns, and planned giving.
Contributions to the Foundation are important not just to our organization, butto everyone we serve, every day. Just as past gifts have helped make todays care possible, so will your support touch the lives of patients and their familiesnow and in the future.
Volunteers have played an important role at Saratoga Hospital since its founding in 1891 by a local group of prominent women determined to meet their communitys desperate need for medical care. Since then, the efforts of countless volunteers have enabled the Saratoga Hospital Volunteer Guild to donate millions of dollars for Hospital projects and programs. All of our volunteers are members of the Saratoga Hospital Volunteer Guild. Volunteers donate over 60,000 hours of service each year. In recognition of its extraordinary contributions to Saratoga Hospital and the community, the Guild has been honored three times with the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) Auxiliary of the Year Award.
We could not be more grateful to our many volunteers. Volunteer Services also recruits, interviews, and sets up training for Our volunteers to serve on Saratoga Hospitals main campus or off-sites in one of 50 service areas.
Our Volunteer Services department is the Hospitals liaison with the Volunteer Guild. The department is responsible for recruitment, training, retention and management, as well as encouragement, recognition, and support for volunteers throughout their service.
Additionally, Volunteer Services manages 90 volunteers at our two retail locations, Gift Shoppe and Treasures Consignment Boutique and Thrift Shoppe, as well as 16 staff members in the greeter program at various front desks.
The Saratoga Hospital Volunteer Guild, formed in 1948, currently consists of more than 250 active volunteers. The Guild has a formal structure with quarterly meetings, as required by the Guilds bylaws, which provide recognition, education, and informational sessions for volunteers. The Guilds elected leaders report regularly to Saratoga Hospitals Board of Trustees.
