Dr. Caruso, known to her patients as 'Dr. Jenny or Jenny', grew up in a very small town in Eastern North Carolina.As a young child, Dr. Jenny had several influential dental experiences including root canal treatment and braces that quickly and easily inspired her to pursue dentistry. Also, as a young girl, Dr. Jenny remembers her father telling her that she was 'very meticulous ' and that she could use this skill as a dentist. That idea stuck in her head as she studied at Kent School in Connecticut and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 2000, Dr. Jenny spent a life-changing year as a volunteer in Tucson, Arizona working as anAmeriCorps leader. In 2006, she graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.
Dr. Jenny is first and foremost passionate about helping people. The oral health goals for her patients are comprehensive in nature. She has a strong dedication to continuing education which allows her to better serve her patients. Dr. Jenny has achieved Fellowship status with the Academy of General Dentistry and is involved in the Mastertrack program to earn her Masters with the Academy. Dr. Jenny and her staff's mission is to provide an enjoyable, relaxing, and friendly environment for her patients.
San Diego (June 20, 2015)The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) is pleased to announce that Dr. Jennifer Caruso, DMD, FAGD, of San Marcos, CA, received the associations Fellowship Award during the AGD 2015 annual meeting, which took place June 18 to 21 in San Francisco.
The AGD Fellowship Award is presented to dentists who seek to provide the highest quality dental care by remaining current in their profession. To earn this prestigious honor, Dr. Carusocompleted 500 hours of dental continuing education, passed a comprehensivewrittenexam, and fulfilled three years of continuous membership in the AGD.
We are proud to honor Dr. Caruso for her commitment in reaching this lofty goal, says AGD Immediate Past President W. Carter Brown, DMD, FAGD. She has distinguished herself professionally among her peers and is a role model for both her fellow dentists and the San Diego community.
Dr. Christopher McLellan is originally from Brick, New Jersey. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from The College of New Jersey in 2007. He holds a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from Rutgers Dental School, graduating in 2012 with Honors.
Dr. McLellan was accepted into the United States Navy Health Professions Scholarship Program, and was commissioned a Dental Corps Officer in 2008. After graduating dental school, he was stationed in Camp Pendleton, CA as a member of 1st Dental Battalion. He completed the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program in 2013, where he enhanced his dental training in endodontics, oral surgery, implant dentistry, and restorative dentistry. Dr. McLellan then served as the dental officer for the 1st and 4th Marine Regiments.
From there, he was assigned to United States Naval Hospital Yokosuka, Japan where he served as the dental officer for sailors from the Carrier Strike Group that deploys with the USS Ronald Reagan. After two memorable years living and working in Japan, Dr. McLellan returned to San Diego where he served as the dental officer at Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar. During this tour, Dr. McLellan was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander, and awarded with his third Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
During his free time, Dr. McLellan enjoys golfing, hiking, surfing, and hes working on improving his photography skills. His time in military service also made him love to travel abroad and experience different cultures.

All my routine dental care has been done at this practice since 2001. The front office staff and clinical staff are just wonderful, feel more like going to visit friends than to a dreaded "dental appointment". Paula is terrific and does a great job, as does Dr. Caruso and the rest of the staff.

Jenny Caruso Dentistry is highly professional, personable, and knowledgeable. Interactions between the staff were enjoyable, and everyone was accommodating, and walked me through each process of the procedures. Having left from an older dentist office, some of the instruments and technology used at Jenny Caruso's were moderern and advanced. Overall, I had a terrific experience and I am very grateful for the opportunity to one of their patients.

Dr. Caruso and the whole dental team are amazing. Right now they are disinfecting and following great COVID-19 protocols to keep everyone safe so you can feel very confident visiting their office. Everyone treats every patient with respect, caring, and complete personal attention to every detail. They explain everything, take great care to make sure you're comfortable with every part of every procedure, and keep checking in during every procedure to let you rest you jaws, give you an extra rinse, make sure things fit, change your position, whatever you need to be comfortable.

I had to find a new dentist since my childhood dentist in my hometown finally retired. This office is within a 5 minute drive of my house in Mira Mesa, and I have been going there since the middle of the pandemic. Everyone there is super friendly and helpful when you have questions! Most of my visits have been with Dr. McLellan who explains procedures well and makes you feel comfortable when visiting!

Dr. Caruso is a very caring and professional dentist. I love everyone on her staff! They are the very best! They have the most modern equipment! They are the most caring I have ever experienced.
