Dr. Tyler Owens grew up in St. George, Utah. Upon receiving his bachelors degree in Biology from Brigham Young University, he attended the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. Dr. Owens participated in multiple mission trips to underserved areas of the world, where he discovered his passion for pediatric dental care. Treating children during these trips led him to complete his residency and training at NYU Lutheran Pediatrics.
Dr. Owens and his wife, Kristen, have four children: Ryan, Ryder, Olivia, and Charlotte. When he is not in the office, Dr. Owens loves outdoor activities, learning new things and spending time with his family.
A board-certified pediatric dentist, like Dr. Owens, has gone through a rigorous examination process with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Only dentists that have completed a residency in pediatric dentistry can sit for the board certification examinations. Board certification tests the knowledge and problem-solving abilities of a pediatric dentist.
Dr. Mark Gilstrap is a Pediatric Dentist at Jenks Pediatric Dental in Jenks, Oklahoma. He was born and raised in central California, and attended Brigham Young University after serving a mission in Denver, Colorado. After graduating from BYU, Dr. Mark attended dental school at Roseman College of Dental Medicine, where he grew passionate about working with kids! He then returned to Colorado to complete his pediatric dental residency. Needing a change of pace, Dr. Mark and his family moved to Oklahoma in 2020. They are so excited to call Oklahoma home!
As a child, Dr. Mark enjoyed going to the dentist, especially when he could hold the mirror during his check-up! After high school, he had the opportunity to work as a pediatric dental assistant. From then on, he LOVED going to the dentist! When he isnt seeing our incredible kiddos, you can find Dr. Mark traveling or spending time with his wife and three daughters: Emma, Addy and Zoey. He is always on the hunt for good food spots and the best wings in the world. (Recommendations are encouraged!)
Were so excited to welcome our newest part-time Dentist, Dr. Ariel Espinoza, to the Jenks Pediatric Dental family! Dr. Espinoza is a Dallas, Texas girl who loves to play soccer, run, hike, and go to Chick-fil-a! Fun fact: her husband is also a Dentist, so theres a lot of teeth talk at home! She was also on the Barney show as a child! She cannot wait to meet our incredible patients and their families!
Dentistry is the perfect marriage of my two passions, art and science. Throughout my professional life I have always entertained and educated children. For 20 years I illustrated childrens books and school textbooks. Helping children become engaged in reading was very rewarding. Today, as a Pediatric Dentist, I use my artists eye and hand coordination to improve my patients smiles and health. I am dedicated to maintaining my patients healthy teeth through excellent dental care. I also teach patients and parents oral hygiene practices that will, if used daily, significantly reduce tooth decay
Our household could be described as a Zoo! My family consists of my wonderful wife Leslie, and our 3 children. In addition, we could also include 1 dog, 2 cats, 2 fish, 1 guinea pig, 12 chickens, 4 goats, 2 sheep and a 2-foot long bearded dragon!
When not doing dentistry, I devote my time to family. I enjoy working with my family on our acreage. When not attending to land, gardens or animals we also enjoy boating, archery, martial arts, drawing and playing video games.
