Ive been practicing orthodontics for more than 20 years. My path to becoming an orthodontist was not a straight one. My college education started in the engineering field; however, the more I studied the more I came to love the sciences. My path eventually led to orthodontics as its the perfect synergy of both those fields. On a daily basis, I get to engineer the ultimate smile for my patients, while working within the confines of and respecting each persons biology and physiology.

Braces use steady gentle pressure to gradually move teeth into their proper positions. The brackets that are placed on your teeth and the archwire that connects them are the main components. When the archwire is placed into the brackets, it tries to return to its original shape. As it does, it applies pressure to move your teeth to their new, more ideal position.
