Jeffrey Halpern, DDS, is a board-certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon who has been practicing in the Chicagoland area since 1992. He received his dental degree from New York University, where he graduated Valedictorian of his class. After dental school, he completed a 2-year residency program in Hospital Dentistry and Dental Oncology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He then attended Louisiana State University where he received his specialty training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Halpern has been practicing in Des Plaines since 1995. He is board certified by both the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology.
In addition to private practice, Dr. Halpern spends time teaching hospital residents and is the author of several professional publications. He is committed to maintaining his own professional education and attends many seminars and courses around the country. He is a past president of the Chicago Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and is past Chairperson of the Education/Program Committee, a position which he held since 2009.

I had a super unexpected experience with Dr Jeffrey Halpern and his staff. Good humor aside, Dr Jeffrey Halpern was very careful , and caring, to make sure I was comfortable for my procedure. His protocol before surgery was very comprehensive, and he even took the time to contact and talk to my general practitioner. I highly recommend Dr Jeffrey Halpern and his staff with my oral surgery needs. He is super intuned with what he does, and he does it well. He fit me in that day, a Friday, because he knew I was in pain. A super hero in the field of oral surgery. Thank you, Dr Jeffrey Halpern and staff!!!

Great surgeon!! Awesome stuff. I had a problem with my wisdom teeth it was too close to the nerve. Dr Jeffrey did a great job removing it. Specially with the laser technique that they have!! It was barely bleeding

His front desk and billing people are horrible. My daughter had teeth pulled a few years ago and there were issues with both the front desk and billing. When my son needed his wisdom teeth out, we had a consult, but billing never followed-up on getting the procedure approved by our insurance. Ultimately, we went to a different oral surgeon. Now, I just received a bill out of nowhere from a collection agency for $50!! I haven't heard from or seen a bill from this office in the last three years!! He should invest in better administrative employees.

From the second i walked nervousy into Doctor Halpren's office i was met with kind, compassionate, staff even before meeting Doctor Halpren. I have severe anxiety and stressed in a dentist office and Doctor Halpren was very patient with me, went over everything slowly with me and explained what the procedure he would be performing on me the following day (2 teeth extraction). I will be a patient for life with Doctor Halpren and his fantastic staff.

Dr. Jeffrey Halpern was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the procedure my mother needed to be done I'm her mouth. Also he was very meticulous in making sure my mother understood the process because my mother only speaks Spanish. He has Miss Gladys working with him and she was extremely professional and sweet with the translations from English to Spanish. I truly recommend him and his staff

This location did an absolutely PHENOMENAL job with my Wisdom Teeth Removal surgery! The staff and Dr. Halpern were so nice and very accommodating.I appreciated their patience and thorough explanations throughout the day as well. Overall, this was my very first surgery ever and I felt very comfortable the entire time. They were wonderful! Saw me on short notice for an emergency. No pain at all. Highly recommend!

Dr. Halpern removed all four of my wisdom teeth two weeks ago. I was nervous about the surgery with it being my first time under anesthesia, but it went smoothly and only took about an hour. I had minimal swelling and the recovery process is going well following the detailed instructions provided by the staff. Everyone at the office was welcoming and made sure any of my questions regarding the procedure or recovery were answered.

Everyone was exceptionally awesome from the front office to the back. They treated us amazing, they were informative and made you feel like home. This was my daughter's first surgery and was scared to death but Dr. Halpern was so caring and was funny and made my daughter feel better. After all was done, she was laughing and hungry and stated it was not bad at all! Definitely give them more than 5 stars!

The best doctor & nurses I've ever had. I'm 19 & I've had 3 different surgeries before this one & each time it was a extremely horrible experience. This time, Dr.Halpern listened to all my problems & wanted to help me. My primary doctor sucks & usually dismisses any of the problems I bring up, Dr.Halpern told me so many new ideas & resolutions for stuff that had nothing to do with my wisdom teeth! I also have PTSD & anxiety , my past surgery's it seemed like nobody listened or cared so I would wake up in a panic every time after surgery. This time they changed the medication to fit my needs to make sure I felt safe & relaxed. The nicest & most caring office I've been too.

Dr. Halpern is an excellent oral surgeon! I needed an extraction in a timely manner. He was able to see me in a few days and performed the task quickly and painlessly. I've never had such a positive experience with a dental procedure. Dr. Halpern is professional as well as friendly and informative. His staff is efficient and caring. They take care of the details with insurance and billing without a problem. The office is clean, and the equipment is state of the art. I won't hesitate to see Dr. Halpern again if the need arises.
