Dr.Brackett is a native of Scarborough and has been practicing in his home town for the last 26 years. He earned his bachelor's degree in Zoology at the University of Maine at Orono, and then he received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Following dental school, he was selected and completed a General Practice Residency at the very prestigious Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He then continued his education at the University of Nebraska, where he earned a certificate in Periodontology.
Dr Brackett participates in the Maine Donated Dental Services program and he has served as treasurer of the Maine Society of Periodontology for the last 21 years. He is also a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, Maine Dental Association and the Greater Portland Dental Society.
Nancy , RDH MS Nancy has practiced dental hygiene with Dr. Brackett since 1995. She is licensed to administer local anesthetic and is dedicated to patient comfort. She enjoys teaching traveling and spending time with her two grown daughters.
Cindy Cindy is the Office manager for the office. She has been employed with Dr. Brackett since March 1997. Prior to joining his practice she had over 12 years of front desk dental experience. Cindy enjoys what she does and shows in how she warmly greets our patients. She oversees in any financial needs and helps them with any insurance questions. Cindy has been married to her husband Bruce for 17 years. Together they have two sons and three grandchildren Hunter, Ana and Adeline. Cindy enjoys spending time with her family and especially the sleepovers with Ana.

I have been seeing Dr. Brackett for several years now, and have had a few surgical procedures done. I have never experienced any pain during or after the procedures. The best dental care ever. Dr. Brackett, Cindy, Debbie and Nancy are all wonderful people to deal with, and I would highly recommend them any day.

I loved my Dental Hygienist. She was amazing and had so many interesting stories. I would go to her any day. I do have to be honest with my overall experience with the office. I was told by the Doctor told that my gums were really bad. During a two year period, I had three grafts done. I was told I needed to keep continuing with further grafts in the upcoming years since my insurance had a yearly cap and could only do 1 a year. I have moved twice since and gone to two different establishments and both told me that my gums were fine and I didn't need anything done. I made sure not to give any information to each establishment beforehand to get an unbiased assessment. Both Doctors told me the same thing....everything was fine. It cost me about 2,000 total out of pocket for the three grafts. In addition, when I asked to transfer my records to another establishment a year after my move from Maine, I was told they no longer had the records. This seems very fishy to me. Based on this information, I seriously have doubts about the office. I do feel a review is necessary after I just received a second confirmation that everything was fine with my gums.

Dr. Brackett's calm, reassuring demeanor instantly gave me complete confidence that I was in good hands. They also took great care to ensure that I was comfortable and virtually pain-free during any procedures. Both of my procedures went very smoothly and I had wonderful results. I highly recommend this practice to anyone in need of a periodontist.

Working for a general dentist, I've known I've needed to see a periodontist for quite a while. My fear had kept me away. I had the BEST experience ever with Dr. Brackett!!! From my first phone call, to my initial consult/exam, and then having surgeries and follow up visits.....Dr. Brackett and his team have been outstanding. Cindy, Debbie and Dr. Brackett have all been so warm, friendly, helpful every step of the way. They melted away my fear of having periodontal surgery! They made sure I understood everything and made me feel as if I were the most important person there. My surgeries were painless! Dr. Brackett is gentle, calm and caring....as well as highly experienced. As is his entire team! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Brackett!

Dr Brackett did an implant. He has the most calming demeanor and takes time to explain the procedure. Thank you Dr. Brackett for an amazing experience. Update: I had to return to Dr Brackett after my general dentist made a mistake placing a crown. Dr. Brackett took great care removing cements in the gum which caused infection. Dr. Brackett is a very caring doctor.

I was very apprehensive about the gums receding on my front teeth. Dr. Bracket took lots of time to explain my problem and has calmed me down completely. He is a very nice, gentle man.
