Dr. Van Hookreceived his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Detroit. He has been an alumnus since 1988. He started his career in a large group practice in Westland, Michigan where he became a partner and practiced for 10 years. He then moved to Novi in 1998 where he opened his first small family practice. In 2003 he bought a historical home in Canton, which he was able to convert into a dental office.
He is married to Maureen and has lived in Canton since 1996. He has four children, he likes to golf, hunt, travel and play various team sports. He enjoys practicing in the community which he lives in. The community has been incredibly supportive.
Dr. Mills Graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2011, and then completed a residency in 'Advanced Education in General Dentistry' (AEGD) at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. She spent time as an adjunct faculty member at Detroit Mercy for the AEGD residency program.
Dr. Mills previously worked in a private practice in Canton for a number of years, and is thrilled to be returning to practice in the area as part of The Village Dentist team this June. Dr. Millstruly enjoys getting to know her patients, and places great importance on thorough and effective patient-provider communication. She prides herself on attention to detail, and cares deeply about the quality of her work.

I have been working in the dental field since 1987, and still enjoying every minute. My field of study originally was nursing;I attended Michigan State University and EasternMichigan University. Yes, my blood truly runs green and white. I am the mom of 2 young adult children and proud 'Grandma' to our fur babies, Chloe, Yana, Charlie & Lulu. Two dogs and two cats. I am thrilled to be a part of the team at The Village Dentist!
As a professional, my calling is to serve people & develop lasting relationships by promoting health & wellness through the provision of dental hygiene care. I am a member of both the American Dental Hygiene Association and the Michigan Dental Hygienist Association. I have received advanced training and certification to administer local anesthetics and nitrous oxide sedation. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Detroit Mercy and a Masters in Dental Hygiene from the University of Michigan. Recently, I have become a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Dental Hygiene Program Director at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. I pride myself in staying current with the latest research in preventative oral health care. I enjoy the opportunity to help our patients understand why complete oral care is so beneficial to their overall health.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from The University of Michigan. I am licensed through the State of Michigan to administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide. I have been treating patients at The Village Dentist in Canton since 2006. I am happy to be part of this amazing dental team. I believe every patient is unique and should be treated as such. I continue to keep up with research developments, new dental treatment developments, and medicaments to provide the best insight for our patients overall health. My professional mission is to always provide treatment with care and compassion.
Outside of the office I enjoy running, biking, yoga, shoe shopping, and reading. My husband Todd and I have two wonderful boys that always make life interesting. We enjoy hiking as a family and try to get it in with every vacation.
I moved from Southern California to Michigan in 2015. I began working in the dental field in 2007 as a Dental Assistant then continued my educationin Dental Hygiene at Baker College in Clinton Township, Michigan. I joined the Village Dentist team in 2020. I take great pride in patient care and continuing education. I enjoy the relationships I form with each patient and providing them exceptional care. When I am not at the office, I enjoy traveling with my husband, listening to music, and going to Nascar races.
