From the moment I called to make an appt. the staff was very friendly. They made me feel welcome (I am a new patient). My hygienist was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Robinson was also friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I enjoyed my visit! Looking forward to many more years with the staff there.
This dental office is wonderful. The entire staff is friendly and caring. Having worked in the dental/orthodontic field in the past, this office does things correctly and they keep up with technology as well. Dr. Cleveland is a very caring man, which shows when he calls your home to see how you are doing after procedures. This dental practice is a blessing to have here in Jefferson.
Dr. Robinson, a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia, has practiced dentistry in Jefferson for several years. During that time, Dr. Robinson has kept up to date on many continuing educational classes, ensuring that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care. Dr. Robinson is a member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Jefferson Rotary and has formerly served as President of the Clarke County Dental Association.
In October 2011, Dr. Robinson was appointed to the Board of Directors of Georgia Health Science University Systems by Gov. Nathan Deal. In dental school, Dr. Robinson was the recipient of the Augusta Area Dental Society Award which recognizes students for being in the top half of his/her class and displaying kindness to patients, and he worked at the Good Samaritan Dental Clinic in downtown Atlanta serving the working poor and homeless to complete his externship.
Dr. Robinsons wife Cassie works as a registered nurse at St. Marys Hospital, and they are the proud parents of preschool twins, Cole and Marlie. The Robinson family plans to call Jefferson home for many years to come. An Augusta native and a University of Georgia alum, Dr. Robinson is an avid Bulldogs fan and will enjoy sharing commentary on his favorite team with his patients. The Robinsons attend Galilee Christian Church.
Dr. Douglas Cleveland was born in Atlanta in 1950 and knew at age 12 that he was interested in dentistry. After graduation from Tucker High School, Dr. Cleveland attended North Georgia College receiving a BS in biology and chemistry minor. While enrolled in Emory University School of Dentistry, he was able to work as a research assistant with Dr. Wilmer Eames, a pioneer in the dental field. Dr. Eames did major work with dental materials and on the use of sealants which are widely used today to protect teeth from decay. Dr. Clevelands research dealt with bases to help protect teeth from sensitivity and published a paper on this work. During his time at Emory, Doug met his wife, Janna, who was a nursing student there. She later returned to Emory to get Masters degrees in Nursing and Public Health. They have been married over 35 years and have three daughters and seven grandchildren.
Dr. Cleveland is a member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Eastern District Dental Association and the Clarke County Dental Association. He is a member of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce and Jefferson Rotary Club where he was president in1991, he and Janna are members of the Jefferson First United Methodist Church. Dr. Cleveland is a Master Diver and works as a volunteer at the Georgia Aquariumcleaning tanks and promoting the exhibit. He enjoys being part of dental mission teams working in clinics in Kentucky, Belize, Peru, and on the Amazon River. He also volunteers with other dentists at the Athens Nurses Clinic and is scheduled to work with RAM (Remote Area Medical) in Tennessee. Dr. Cleveland enjoys scuba diving, tennis, golf, snow skiing, and playing with his grandchildren.
His office has been in the same location in the Big Yellow House that was built in 1903 since he and Janna moved to Jefferson in 1976. He and his staff take pride in giving their patients gentle, affordable dental care in a relaxed and caring atmosphere.
Dr. John Dobberstein is a native of Michigan. He moved to Smyrna, Georgia at the age of ten and grew up there. He received a BS in Applied Biology from Georgia Tech before attending and graduating from The Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry (Augusta University School of Dentistry). Dr. John married Lori two weeks before starting dental school, and they welcomed their daughter Emily to their Conyers, Ga home two months after graduating. They enjoyed two years of figuring out how to be parents before Ethan joined them and changed all the rules. At that point they had a growing general dental practice in Conyers and decided the family was complete. Keeping them all very busy over the years was active life at their church and multiple sports by both children.
In 2007 the family moved to Oconee County where John and Lori continue to live. Emily has since moved on to likely become a lifetime resident of North Carolina while Ethan just graduated from UGA (I know! You had to look above to verify where I did undergrad, didnt you?). Where he will ultimately land is still to be determined. To make himself more readily available to attend Emily and Ethans high school sports Dr. John sold his Conyers practice in 2011. He has been practicing general family dentistry in the Athens area since that time.
Two additional focuses since 2012 have been in the area of Sleep Apnea treatment with oral appliances and helping people who suffer with frequent headaches and issues associated with the TMJ or head and neck muscles. Dr. John and Lori enjoy running and riding bikes together although their pace is much slower than earlier in their marriage. They are both avid golfers and also enjoy fishing, working their new garden, hanging out on the porch and walks/hikes with their children and dog Ellie.
I've been employed at this office since 2001.My husband Rick and I have been married since 1988.I'm an avid supporter of theSusan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3 Day in Atlanta. I have just finished walking 60 miles for the 5th straight year.
I have been a dental assistant for over 15 years and love what I do. I enjoy meeting new patients and meeting the needs of established patients. I have one son who is very active in sports, and as a family, we attend Living Word Worship Center.
Living in the mountains was great until I met my husband of nine years in Atlanta who moved me to Georgia. We stay busy chasing after our 2 small children. I have been very blessed with a wonderful job and family.
I first came to work at this office when I was 19 years old as the Dental Hygiene Coordinator. I worked here for almost 2 years until I was accepted into Dental Hygiene School atLanier Technical College. I came back to work here when I graduated in July 2008 as a Dental Hygienist. I love what I do and enjoy working here.
I'm a Jefferson native and graduated from Jefferson High School in 2008. I then went on to pursue dental hygiene and graduated from the hygiene program at Athens Technical College in 2013. I worked in pediatric dentistry for 6 years before finding my place at Jefferson Premier Dental in May 2020. I love traveling/adventuring, the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends!
After graduating from MCG in 2013, I began working as a dental hygienist in my hometown of Madison, GA. Practicing there for several years was a great start to my career. Later my husband and I made a home for ourselves in Commerce and I began working at Jefferson Premier Dental in 2017. Joining the JPD team has been a wonderful experience. My coworkers and patients are great people to work with and make the workdays both fun and fulfilling. Outside of the office, my husband and I keep busy with our precious baby girl and two miniature schnauzers.
I'm a dental assistant at Jefferson Premier Dental. I started at this office in January 201. I have one daughter who attends Jefferson City Schools. I love all things outdoors! My favorite part of working here is getting to know all of the wonderful patients.

Wonderful dental experience, only one that I've found that I trust--so much that I am willing to drive an hour and a half to get there. The dentists are great and the staff members are great. I'm thankful to Christ for this dental office.
