In 2002 Dr. Celis established her own practice inSouth Bend, Indianaproviding comprehensive dental care to the community. Her practice also sees patients with a variety of special needs and language barriers. Dr. Celis is bi-lingual speaking English and Spanish languages fluently. By building strong relationships with her patients she hopes to communicate the importance of dental health.
She has been an active member of theAmerican Dental Association,Indiana Dental AssociationandNorth Central Dental Associationsince 1998. A Past President of North Central Dental Association from 2010-2011, she has served as the Chair of Communications Council for theIndiana Dental Associationand continues advocacy for her dental association.
Dr. Celis also serves on the IUSB Dental School Advisory board since 2010. In 2011 she was accepted in thePierre Fauchard Dental Society. October of 2012,she was inductedin theInternational College of Dentistryat the Annual American Dental Association session in San Francisco. Dr. Celis was also recently inducted as a Fellow of theAmerican College of Dentistsin Washington DC in October 2015 and now serves as the Chair for the Indiana Section of the American College of Dentists. In addition to her formal training, Dr. Celis has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education over the past years. Dr. Celis prides herself on continuing her education to provide the best dental care to her patients. She has many years experience in general and cosmetic dentistry as well as with dentures and other areas of prosthodontics.
An accomplished artist and photographer, Dr. Celis enjoys painting and photographing everything from beautiful flowers tomotorcycle trials. She has lived in South Bend, Indiana for over fifteen years with her husband Mont and their two dogs.
Dr. Jeannie Wu started withJeffersonDentalCenterin July of 2019. She graduated with a Doctor ofDentalSurgery fromState University of New York at Buffalo, School ofDentalMedicine/ Buffalo, NY. in 2014.
We welcome you to our dental center in South Bend, Indiana and look forward to participating in your dental health. Your first visit at Jefferson Dental Center will consist of a comprehensive oral evaluation that will require a full mouth series of dental radiographs. We prefer to use digital dental technology to provide Dr. Celis with crisp high resolution radiographs of her patients but will gladly accept recent radiographs on film, photo-paper or digital format from another office.
On your first visit, there are a number of required new patient forms that will need to be completed. These new patient forms include a patient demographic sheet, consent form, financial and a medical history. We are also required by law to advise you of our Privacy Policy in regards to your private health records and to obtain signatures of all patients, and or guardians, to disclose and use your private health information with other health professional in the treatment of your dental health.
After your information and medical history has been recorded in your digital record, we will start with taking radiographs and an initial assessment by a hygienist or an assistant of the dentist. Dr. Celis will complete a comprehensive oral exam which will aid in creating your treatment plan. Our dentist will prescribe what type of cleaning regime and explain in detail any conditions you may have or experience.

First time in office, I had a very pleasant time (Probably because it was a different receptionist and Dr. Wu). Horrible experience after that, the receptionist and Dr. Celis are both VERY unprofessional! NEVER in my life have I had a doctor hang up on me. I work in a doctor's office and I, my coworkers, and the doctors I work for have never treated anyone the way I was treated. Made an appointment weeks in advance only to not be seen. A complete waste of time!

I went to Dr. Celis as a child and have been wanting to go back for years! Finally got the right insurance and just recently took my daughter there as well. I absolutely love the treatment and staff. Being to many different dentists I've seen things I didn't like and they aren't always patient with kids. The dentist isn't a pleasant place for most so having a positive attitude and environment means 100 percent a lot when choosing a dental office. My daughter has went from dreading the dentist to loving it! They take good care of you, urgently if needed. I'm so glad I could re-establish with them. You'll never forget how someone treats you and 7 years later nothing has changed. Highly recommend for your family.

I received a bill for x ray's that was supposedly covered by my insurance. When I set up the appointment for this office. I told the front desk clerk that I wanted a cleaning for my husband and I. She said ok and booked the appointment. When I got there for my appointment the assistant said I needed x rays for first time patience. I said I didn't want the X-rays just a cleaning. The assistant and doctor said they can't see me without doing the x rays. Before I sat in the dental chair, I asked the assistant and doctor to make sure my insurance cover this. The assistance and doctor came back with papers saying I was covered. Now I have a bill because I was lied to. I am highly upset and would not recommend anyone go here if you have Cigna insurance and a new patient. To make matters worst, I didn't get the cleaning that day but instead they informed me that I needed to book a cleaning appointment for another day. What a waste of time. This office gives missing information, not fast and costly. If I could give this review a FAT 0 I would. Overall 0/5.

I struggled to find a good dentist when I moved to the area from Indianapolis. I found Dr. Celis and have been going to her office for two years. Her staff are very friendly and helpful and always greet me with a smile. Her dental assistants are very knowledgeable and made my visit a pleasant experience. Dr. Celis was wonderful and even took time to ask about my family. I would highly recommend her and her office!!!

For the first time in my life, I forgot to look at the reviews, and it happened to me! I have a very similar-ish bad experience with the last review! I checked first with the clerk over the phone, and he told me that I would not pay anything and my insurance covers all costs after he checked my insurance plan. When the assistant was checking my teeth, she wanted me to take an x-ray so they can see the wisdom teeth better. (which was weird, all my previous dentists in Germany and the USA could see them without any x-rays) I asked her and stressed that I do NOT want to pay anything and asked her to make sure that I will not be charged at all for whatever she offers me, especially the x-ray, based on my insurance plan! And she said, "You will not be charged at all"! In the end, they charged me about $77, and I think it was planned. It was not a mistake of one person so that I can admit it was a human's mistake. It was definitely more than a mistake. I wish it were not planned, and I was not lied to! I am a doctor in engineering, and I do not have financial problems, but the way I was treated made me highly upset, and my feelings hurt! I would not recommend anyone to go there. I wish they were honest and did not assume people are stupid! If I could give this review a 0, I would.

I really enjoyed this office. I haven't had any major work done to really comment on. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. That helps. Office appears clean though a little dated. Cleanliness is of utmost importance! I just wish they had more office hours. That's the only reason, at this time, they are not getting 5 stars.

Had a tooth pulled today and it was a great experience. The ladies were very good at everything they did. They were quick and very professional. Everything was organized very well and they did everything possible to make sure I felt no pain and was as comfortable as I could possibly be. They're very knowledgeable about their skill and everyone works as a team. This was my second visit and both exceeded my expectation by far. Excellent service ladies!!!!! I'd recommend this place to whomever wants to feel like they're getting dental work done in Heaven. God Bless this team!!!
