Dr. Steven Cajigal grew up in the south county St. Louis area in Oakville and attended Saint Louis University High School. Upon completion of his undergraduate studies at Saint Louis University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, he went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Cajigal returned to the St. Louis area and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. He has remained at SIU-SDM as a member of the faculty where he teaches part-time maintaining his affiliation with the school as a clinical assistant professor.
In his spare time, Dr. Cajigal enjoys playing tennis and playing the piano in addition to spending time with his family and friends. Heplays piano for several church parishes in the St. Louis areaon a regular basis and will often accompany various choirs and soloists for weddings and other special events.
Dr. Cajigal believes in giving back to the local community and regularly volunteers his time at dental events such as Give Kids a Smile and Missouri Mission of Mercy. Dr. Cajigal welcomes new patients andtheir families and looks forward to meeting you and helping to maintain a healthy and beautiful smile!

They are very honest. If they tell you there is a problem you can trust them. I have been a patient 10-15 years. During that time my insurance changed and I had to use another Dentist that wanted me to have many expensive procedures. I switched back to Jefferson County Dental ASAP!

This place made me feel like a person with value. I had bad trauma experience as a kid with dentist and although i took care of my teeth on my own, years of professional neglect left a toll. I was very, very self conscious and is the primary reason I avoided a dentist for so long. They didn't say a word about the bad shape in a derogatory way and I just want to thank them. I know its their job to have good bedside manners but it changed my life in a big positive way so thank you for making me feel like a person

MY WIFE AND I DRIVE OVER 5O MILES ROUND TRIP TO GET TO THEIR OFFICE PASSING HUNDREDS OF DENTISTS AND THERE IS A REASON THAT WE DO .AND THAT REASON BEING THAT THIS OFFICE AND DENTIST IS " BEST OF BREED ! " WHY GO ANYWHERE ELSE ? ALL INSURANCE WAS HANDLED BY STAFF , THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING !

Came to this office as a new patient last summer. I was pregnant at the time, so did not experience new patient X-rays, but my husband did and was very disappointed in the tech's lack of experience and knowledge of the process. This was the first dentist visit I've had in my entire life in which they polished my teeth and flossed first then had someone come in to scrape/clean gums/etc. The assistant who polished my teeth could not remember which teeth she had done/not done, and had to count my teeth multiple times to figure it out. She also did not floss under my permanent retainer, which spans across all of my bottom teeth - all it takes is a floss threader. When she was done she left me reclined flat in the chair - being very pregnant, it was uncomfortable and hard to breathe, so I rolled over to my side to sit up while I waited for the next technician. When the dentist came in, he barely made eye contact and said as little as possible. Apparently I had a new cavity, but wasn't told much about it. The tech had to ask the dentist what kind of cavity and whether it needed to be filled after walking me up front to schedule my next appointment. The staff seemed offended that I wasn't interested in setting the filling appointment on the spot. My husband had already set our six month cleaning appointments - I had forgotten, and recently received a call requesting reschedule because the office is now short staffed. I ultimately cancelled.

Professional and quick to get you in . Can't say enough good things about this place. Didn't give me the normal I hate going to the dentist feel . Been without a dentist for years , took a shot going here. Glad I did.

I was there a few days ago for a routine checkup. They found 2 cavities and decided to fill them the same day! I was pretty nervous about the shot but Dr. Cajigal has great bedside manners! Glad I made the switch:)

I have dental phobia, which Dr. Cajigal and the amazing staff accommodate without being patronizing. They handle all of the insurance pre-authorizations if you require treatment and work with our schedules. Jefferson County Dental offers a family plan for cleanings and x-rays that is less expensive than my insurance premiums. Great care, good value and friendly service!
