GOALS Our goals are the same as yours. We want to develop a rapport with your children that will provide optimum oral health and a trusting relationship for a lifetime. We want to accomplish these goals in a healthy, safe, fun and exciting environment.
If your child is apprehensive about the first visit, we allow a complimentary walk-through first visit where the child can come to the office and observe what goes on. Subsequent visits can then be scheduled so that the child is gradually introduced to necessary treatments.
If youve been to see us, youve seen some AMAZING original artwork from Tanzania, Africa. The original Tinga-Tinga paintings were created by local artists in Tanzania, and are found throughout the office. The office decor was inspired by the artwork that Dr. Wards parents brought back from their trip to Africa to visit his brother, who at the time was a missionary in Tanzania. Dr. Ward was born and raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He currently resides in Fayetteville with his wife Jenny, son Blake, and daughter Aubrey. He loves to spend time with his family, hunt, fish, travel and to cheer for the Razorbacks.
Dr. Ward is a graduate of Arkansas Tech University and received his doctorate of dental surgery in 2003 from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans. After dental school he completed a two year residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Tennesse at Memphis.
Dr. Ward takes an active role in meeting and exceeding the standards of his profession. He is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association. He continues to attend pediatric education seminars each year to keep him in the forefront of Pediatric Dentistry.
We treat all children as though they were our own. It is our sincere desire to make every childs dental experience an enjoyable one. From the moment they enter the front door, our attention is focused on your children.
Just as a pediatric medical doctor is trained to care for a childs medical needs, a pediatric dentist is specially trained for a childs dental needs. A pediatric dentist is trained in the oral health of children and in dealing with all types of child behavior and special needs.
The pediatric dental office environment is geared directly to making your child feel comfortable. The office is populated with their peers so it is normally a less threatening environment than they may encounter in an office where only adults may be present. Also, in case a child needs restorative care, the pediatric dentist is highly trained in techniques so that treatment can be accomplished safely and quickly with minimal emotional stress to your child.

This is the BEST Dentist Ever!!! There was 4 of us today and it only took us 1 hour for 4 kids! Dr.Ward is SO kind! He cares and has feelings for every patient he has! He Explains everything to the parent/guardian. Highly recommend him!!!

My daughter has received care at this facility for several years. We traveled to her appointment this afternoon and was notified we had fallen behind on payments. I offered to call in tomorrow to set up a new payment plan with the office and was denied by their office manager. As I left the office with my daughter, the office manager emerged from the back room as we were leaving to announce to the entire waiting room that my card on file kept getting denied. I told her I had switched banks and that I had not authorized them to continue to run my card. She told me I was wrong. I told her I could call back after I get paid again and SHE FOLLOWS ME AND MY FAMILY INTO THE PARKING LOT (as other people were arriving for their appointments) and yells across the parking lot "You'll be hearing from our lawyers!" As a local business owner, the experience was unprofessional to say the least. At most, it was an attempt to shame my family and I in front of other people. I pray that Dr. Ward speaks with their office manager and perhaps is able to offer any professional development resources to this woman. I am confused by her behavior and contempt for me not being able to pay the amount she demanded. Her behavior was atrocious and hateful and uncalled for. I pray she seeks help and this will be addressed by the office as the way to not treat patients in a hard economy.

Short version- DO NOT TAKE BABIES HERE FOR LIP/TONGUE TIES!!! I was charged $200 for 5-10 minutes of him jabbering nonstop and telling me lip and tongue ties aren't a big deal. The Smile Shoppe offers this consultation FREE OF CHARGE! Go there instead. Long version- My experience with Dr. Ward was a huge waste of time. Precious time and energy wasted as a new mom of twin baby girls. We were taken back to the room and there weren't chairs, just small ottomans my husband and I sat on. Dr ward came in with a super awkward and uncomfortable/overwhelming fake enthusiasm, it was like he put on a character and wasn't genuine. Proceeded to charge me simply fold their lips up and tell me they had minor tongue ties but there wasn't much he could do to help and that surgery rarely makes much of a difference. He blabbed so much I had to cut him off and say, "I really am not interested in all these stories of other patients." Both my babies were crying and he just kept talking...... He said his son had a severe lip tie which he never had surgically fixed and "he's never had a problem".... Ok... why are you offering lip tie surgery then? The Smile Shoppe (has like 3 or 4 locations) does these consultations FOR FREE!!! Take your babies there!

Would not go here to have kids/ babies assessed for tongue or lip ties. He charges $100 for a 5 minute consultation. Even if your kid has a tie, He said he doesn't think tongue or lip ties are a problem. The Smile Shoppe does free consultations.

Excellent experience. He walked us through the tongue tie process and from the get go let us know that this is subjective and waited until he'd told us every step of the process before he made his recommendation. I've not felt at ease like that with a Doctor before. Incredible experience and he makes you feel like you are his top priority when he's in the room with you. Will bring our child there for dentistry once teeth come in. Highly recommend.

Took my daughter her for a cavity that I knew she had. She was 2. We were put on every 3 month check ups to keep up with the cavity. Not once did Dr Ward ever try or talk about filling it. A year later (after nothing had been done) Dr. Ward tells me my daughter actually has to have the tooth pulled. When I confronted him about my concern and frankly anger about nothing being done for her before it got this bad and why he wouldn't fill the tooth, Dr Ward proceeded to tell my that MY DAUGHTER wouldn't let him do it. He actually blamed my child for his neglect. And now I have to wait another THREE MONTHS before she can have have the tooth pulled because of their awful scheduling system. Don't believe the good reviews. Do not go here. After my child gets this tooth unfortunately pulled, we will take our business elsewhere, where hopefully they care more and don't blame children.

Our 6 week old daughter was diagnosed with lip, tongue, and cheek ties by a IBCLC and we were recommended to Dr. Ward for a laser release procedure. We were nervous of course, but once Dr. Ward thoroughly explained the procedure and assessed her oral ties we felt very comfortable that he would do a great job for us. The procedure itself took only a few minutes, and the difference for my daughter is amazing. I highly recommend Dr. Ward for you baby if they need any oral ties released!

If I could leave more stars I would- Dr. Ward and his staff take such good care of our todder!! She has had several fillings there as well as had a tooth pulled by Dr. Ward and it couldn't have gone better. Everyone is so gracious and patient. They clearly know what they're doing- very professional, thorough and kind. Knowing he is our dentist brings us peace of mind. There is no better pediatric dentist in NWA.
