Originally from Oregon, Dr. Jay Ross moved to Southern California to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. After graduating in 2009, he had the honor to serve our country as a commissioned Dental Officer in the United States Navy. While on active duty, he completed a credentialing program comparable to a general dentistry residency; deployed twice as a Battalion Dental Officer, once to Afghanistan and the other to Spain; and was the Assistant Dental Officer in charge of a naval dental clinic. After completing his active duty commitment, Dr. Ross decided to call Ventura County his home and began working in private practice locally as well has continued his Naval career as a Navy Reserve Dental Officer.
He holds a strong belief in long term care and prevention of oral pathologies through sound ethical and clinical judgment. By staying informed through continuing education, he is always up to date with the most cutting edge dental techniques. Dr Ross is an active member of the Santa Barbara Ventura County Dental Society, American Dental Association, and the California Dental Association.

The term CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic. We use CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) to make dental restorations, such as crowns, inlays and onlays, fixed bridges, veneers, dental implants, and dentures.

Our CEREC system can be used to create crowns, veneers, inlays and onlays while you wait. At JD Ross D.D.S. Inc, we take digital images of the tooth and mouth and immediately upload them into the software. Using CAD/CAM technology, we create a computerized image of the tooth along with the exact dimensions and blueprint for what the new restoration needs to look like. The software processes the information quickly before making comprehensive recommendations for the restoration. The software accounts for every detail.

I am very pleased with my most recent experience at Dr. Jay Ross's dental office. I was greeted cordially as I entered the new office. The rooms were bright, clean and airy. The staff, Nancy, Nancy and Cindy, were friendly and helpful, and treated me with respect. Dr. Ross greeted me warmly as he would a family member. I was put at ease and comfort during my appointment. He and his staff were very efficient and professional, with keen attention to detail. Remarkably, I did not feel any pain when receiving the anesthesia from Dr. Ross, which I was most grateful. I did not feel rushed during my appointment. Overall, I had an excellent appointment, and highly recommend Dr. Ross and his staff.

Dr. Ross great as always, the staff super ! This is the place for great dental care. Well worth the drive. Great as always. Nancy the hygienist is excellent as always, spots anything before it becomes a huge issue. Dr. Ross follows up & has great recommendation if a specialist is needed & also makes excellent crowns.

I came in for a routine cleaning and Nancy was fantastic! She made me feel at home and comfortable. She was very thorough and efficient in cleaning my teeth, and answered any questions I had. She even recommended a flossing device that will help me reach the difficult places to reach. Dr. Ross was also friendly and very efficient, and answered my inquiries. Emilia and Sandra were very attentive to my scheduling and insurance questions. Excellent staff all together!

The short version: I am so grateful and happy to have found Dr.Jay Ross and his team! I've been coming here for years and am updating my review to again emphasize what a find this dental practice is! These people are outstanding. They are highly skilled, kind, communicative and true professionals. I recommend them unreservedly to anyone for any level of dental need. The longer version: I have a complex array of dental issues and no matter what crops up Dr. Ross guides me through. We have been working on crowns for my front teeth after implants and I just recently got them! They are gorgeous.... he is such a true artist! I am extremely impressed with Dr Ross. I'm not only impressed with his judgment and skill but he is also particularly kind and patient along with very generous with his time. As well, he has referred me to two specialists thus far and both have been excellent. The front office staff is terrific! Organized, professional and communicative along with caring and compassionate. The dental assistants are so very knowledgeable, highly skilled, efficient and kind! And I really appreciated that I can always reach someone if I have a question or concern. The hygienists are truly talented. I used to be a really nervous person when it came to getting my teeth cleaned but here I've had nothing but such positive experiences...great relief! Obviously I highly recommend Dr Ross' dental practice. It's a warm, positive environment with great dental care across the spectrum from regular hygiene to those more difficult dental challenges!

Dr. Ross explains everything and answers all of my questions. He is patient and gentle while still being straight forward and direct. He doesn't sugarcoat things.
