Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Dr. Joseph E. Baptiste learned early on the necessity and value of a good education. The son of an attorney-father and an accountant-mother, Dr. Baptiste focused on a career in the medical profession because of his passion for healing, restoration, and rebuilding peoples health.
Dr. Baptiste immigrated to the United States from his native country when he was 15 years old. Dr. Baptiste completed secondary school in Chicago then matriculated through the University of Illinois Circle Campus where he completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology-Chemistry. Following a one-year term as a Microbiological Researcher with Johnson Product & Company Research Center in Chicago, Dr. Baptiste attended the prestigious Howard University School of Dentistry where he excelled in the study of dentistry. Upon receiving his Doctorate in Dental Surgery, Dr. Baptiste answered the call of military service by the US Army where he completed his dental surgical residency program.
Dr. Baptiste actively served his adopted country as staff Dental Surgeon at Walson Army Hospital Center for fouryears. Later, as an Army Major, he was called to serve during the Desert Storm campaign of 1991. As in all of his undertakings, Dr. Baptiste distinguished himself and rose to the rank of Colonel. Dr. Baptiste was once again called upon to go to Iraq; this time as chief of a medical/dental detachment to defend the Global War On Terrorism Defending Freedom Mission. An already highly decorated soldier, Dr. Baptiste was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Army Meritorious Unit Award, the Army Achievement Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. He is the Chief of Dental Services of the 2290th USAR at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Dr. Baptistes military career is distinguished, his commitment to country and the global community acknowledged. Dr. Baptiste is also recognized in the dental community as one of the most skilled dental health surgeons in the nation. The Governor of Maryland named Dr. Baptiste a member of the State Board of Dental Examiners in 2000. His private practice, JB Dental Clinic, located in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland, is recognized as one of the most advanced in the field of implantology.
A pioneer in his discipline, he holds a Fellowship at the Academy of General Dentistry, a distinction that only 10 percent of his peers have attained. He is also a Diplomat of the International Congress of Implantology, a Fellow and Diplomat of the prestigious American Academy of Implant Dentistry as well as the American College of Forensic Examiners.
Some of his professional awards include: Whos Who Among Outstanding Americans And Whos Who Among Outstanding Executives and Professionals. He was named by the Washingtonian Magazine in the Top 100 Best Doctors in the Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia area.

One word to describe Dr. Baptiste and his team "SUPERB"! I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Baptiste yesterday. His bedside manner is a breath of fresh air. After taking my 91 year old mother to several dentist, with no success, my sister recommended Dr. Baptiste. I see why my sister was extremely impress from her first visit. Dr. Baptiste was very personable, friendly and professional. He solved my mother's annoying teeth issues. What a gem in this day and time. From the receptionist, the dental hygienist to Dr. Baptiste, this is a family of professionals that make their patients feel comfortable. I am so grateful to now have a dentist that shows passion for his profession.

This place is immaculate when it comes down to cleanliness but the overall practice is the worst I got 2 root canals put in my tooth only to find out they were cavities underneath my tooth prior to them placing the root canal and however both of my root canals game out the teeth were cracked and you can see the cavity that is still in my tooth which has caused me severe and tremendous pain throughout my entire mouth I'm going to have to file a lawsuit against these people for compensation someone is responsible unlike a root canals i had place over 20 years ago has never caused me an pain at all thanks Dr. Sharmin Harvard Street dental is one of the best thus far please stay away from JB Dental they are the worst

This week I went to get a long bridge fixed. I was so impressed by the care and attention given to minute details by Dr. Baptiste and his assistants. It fits beautifully, and I don't have any discomfort. I would highly recommend this dental office to anyone looking for perfect and caring service!

JB DENTAL is amazing. I original went to them just for a second opinion but made them my permanent dentist office cause of there professionalism and they don't try to take advantage of you and charge more like other places. Rare to see such honest and professionalism staff and doctors.

Really nice staff starting from the front desk X-ray and dental hygienist is really nice and really care and do a good cleaning to my teeth every time. I see a lot of dental hygienist they don't care but this one she cares a lot and knowledgeable
