Dr. Sher prides himself on helping patients feel and look their best by providing the finest dental care and the latest technology. Whether a routine dental visit or a cosmetic procedure, Dr. Sher treats each patient with individual attention to achieve great-looking and long lasting results.
Dr. Sher earned his dental degree at Columbia University School of Dental Medicine where he was class president, editor of the school newspaper, co-editor of the yearbook and recipient of the alumni award. For his undergraduate education, Dr. Sher graduated Cum Laude from the University of Connecticut and remains a die-hard Husky fan.
Always expanding his knowledge of dentistry, Dr. Sher attends continuing education courses and is dedicated to staying up-to-date on the latest advances in dentistry. He has also lectured on a variety of topics both nationally and internationally and authored or coauthored dozens of articles that have appeared in dental journals. In addition, Dr. Sher has contributed a chapter for a dental implant textbook and holds a patent for an implant placement device. He is a trusted attending at the Beth Israel Hospital in Newark where he often lectures the 12 dental residents on a variety of topics.
Dr. Sher has been recognized numerous times for his excellence in his field. He has been appointed as a consulting expert by theNJ State Board of Dentistry for his professional opinion to determine the validity of patient complaints brought before the board. Dr. Sher hasbeen listedin Americas Cosmetic Doctors and Dentists and Americas Top Doctors as well as being listed in the Guide to Americas Top Dentists.
In addition to honors bestowed upon him, Dr. Sher is active member of professional dental associations including the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the New Jersey Dental Association and the Essex County Dental Society where he is a past president. He is a fellow of the American College of Dentists, Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, Certified by the Academy of Laser Dentistry and active with the New Jersey Sleep Society.
Most importantly, Dr. Sher enjoys spending time with his family. He adores his wife Geri and his three daughters Lauren, Alyssa, Emily,his sons-in-law Jared, Michael, Dan and his much treasuredgrandchildren Jordan, Scarlett, and Jace.
Madalena has over 23 years of experience in the dental field and is an expert at correctly maximizing insurance benefits for all of our patients. She is truly a dental insurance specialist. Madalena enjoys spending time with her husband, children and grandchild.
Dense is our outstanding full time Dental Hygienist who is both very thorough and gentle when cleaning your teeth. She finds dentistry fascinating with the new innovations and enjoys promoting health while improving peoples lives. Denises caring and concern for every patient makes her a valuable member of our team. She enjoys the outdoors, being with friends and family. Her favorite pastime is going country line dancing.
Pierrette has the gift of being both an excellent dental assistant and making patients feel comfortable and welcomed. She has great peoples skills and can answer most questions about any dental topic.
Karen works at our office part-time and brings her excellent hygiene skills to our office on Fridays and occasional Saturdays. She loves to improve brushing and flossing knowledge to all of her patients and the patients see the benefit right away. You will too.

Amazing Experience!!!! I recommend Dr Sher to everyone! The staff was very sweet to me and very professional. I appreciate Dr Sher went over everything with me before performing the service. Dr Sher and his assistant was very careful and made sure I was comfortable at all times. Dr Sher is by far the best Dentist I had in several years. Dr Sher really cares about his patients and it shows!

Dr. Sher is the best. He took his time to go over everything in detail with me. No ambiguity no surprises. Also, he examined my teeth thoroughly and discussed the treatment plan in detail with me. He had to do a procedure on one of my teeth and it was absolutely painless. He is extremely patient and heard through all my questions and concerns. I would absolutely recommend him!

Fear a dental office visit no more!! Dr. Sher actually makes going to the dentist a pleasure. Im not kidding! He is kind, considerate, thoughtful and compassionate. He is confident yet humble and can take care of any dental issue you face. I know that he participates in continuing education as well as teaches at a top tier dentistry program. He also is on top of the latest technology. The staff are efficient and excellent at what they do. They are second to none. I have recommended many friends and family to the office of Dr. Sher and they all feel the same way I do.
