I saw Dr Neugarten after complications following surgery with a different surgeon. It was a stressful period - and multiple further surgeries - but I couldn't be happier with the treatment I received here. Strongly recommend him.

Dr. Neugarten changed my life, and I believe he is amongst the most brilliant oral surgeons in the world. I came to Dr. Neugarten with severe jaw pain, consistent sleep disruption, and major breathing issues. After undergoing X-Rays and several consultations with Dr. Neugarten, it turned out that I needed total joint replacement, in addition to upper and lower jaw surgery. This surgery would be extremely complex, inclusive of 3-D printed titanium joints, 10+ hours of the operation, and multiple night stays in the hospital. The surgery resulted in my airway becoming 3 times larger, allowing me to breathe properly for the first time in my adult life. This has led to a major increase in my levels of energy throughout the day, and I now enjoy a full night of un-interrupted sleep. From the pre-surgical calls with Dr. Neugarten himself, to his incredible staff speaking with me in the days and weeks after the operation (Lisa is EXCEPTIONAL!), to present day follow ups, the entire NYCOMS team has been wonderful throughout. I couldn't offer a stronger recommendation!

Not only is Dr. Neugarten an amazing Doctor and surgeon, an expert in his field... but his staff is top notch, something many doctors offices lack in. They are efficient and helpful with all of our questions and very responsive. Highly recommended

Need your face put back together (my family has personal experience with this aspect), rearranged, or maybe your dental implants are failing? Dr. Neugarten is your man. Top notch in his field you can trust him to do what he promises and the result can be life-changing. Excellent support team as well! Roza specifically is worth her weight in gold imho. So glad we were referred here. Note, no longer in the Park 55 building

This for profit money hungry office. Incompetent staff misinformed me for visit knowing my insurance wasn't accepted. Misquoted payments at higher cost. A bait & switch inorder to get you into the office albeit pay out of pocket cost. Terrible!

There are two parts to a successful jaw surgery: a great surgeon and a well-managed recovery. Dr. Neugarten checks the first box; he is an extremely well-regarded, talented and methodical jaw surgeon (everything down to how you need to be prepped before you enter the OR is exactly how he wants it). He successfully corrected my underbite (class III) with double jaw surgery AND genioplasty, and did so in a way that 100% of the feeling in my face and gums has been restored. Dr. Neugarten and his team (Lisa in particular) also check the second box -- they went above and beyond on the recovery prep, providing me with a mental framework and precise instructions to hit the recovery head on and get back to normal life. The recovery is tough, but after watching countless YouTube videos and reading dozens of jaw surgery blogs, I realized that most people get the recovery very wrong and in some cases do things that delay the healing process. This will not happen with Dr. Neugarten and his team (who are always there to help you and answer questions). To say that he positively changed my life is an understatement. I could not recommend Dr. Neugarten & his wonderful team more. I'm over a year post-op and am amazed at how my quality of life has improved -- I'm able to breath through my nose, chew and bite normally, and my face looks and feels as I believe it should, without an underbite.

Over the last 25 years I have gone to four other oral surgeons that do implants unfortunately I have TMJ and everyone of them has failed. Dr Neugarten explains everything down to the last detail I never felt any pain not during or after, and the stability in my mouth even with TMJ it's not anything I've ever felt before. I have nothing but high praise for him he is incomplete control and knows exactly what he's doing the five implants that he has done in my mouth are perfection and because I gone to others I can tell you that he is the doctor to go to.

Dr. Neugarten has changed my life in the best possible way. If you need jaw surgery, don't waste your time going to anyone else; I implore you to read my below story: Years ago, I received a botched lower jaw surgery from another surgeon. My jaw completely relapsed right after (13mm recessed), I had a damaged nerve, and my TMJ pain was getting progressively worse as I got older. It got to the point where I couldn't eat certain foods any longer and my overall self esteem with my face was declining. It was a mess. I was referred to Dr. Neugarten and I am grateful that I was. He performed my revision surgery, and then some: double jaw with chin augmentation. Every step of the way, Dr. Neugarten and his staff were professional and compassionate. My surgery, itself, went smoothly and he fixed up my damaged nerve which was literally left hanging from the previous surgeon. Furthermore, he was there when I woke up and there the next day to check on me, didn't just send one of his associates like many doctors tend to do. In the days following my surgery, Lisa was extremely accessible via email to answer my questions and concerns. A fantastic experience all around! Every check up afterwards is always handled with care, and Dr. Neugarten always takes the time to talk about my progress and answer any and all of my questions. He's also super friendly and remembers who you are as a person, always asks about work and family. He's a great doctor and also a great person. Over a year later, I am transformed and couldn't be happier with my results: not only do I look fantastic, but my pain is significantly improved. Dr. Neugarten is a true master of his profession. Take it from my experience, if you need this surgery, go to Dr. Neugarten and never look back, it'll be your best decision.

Dr. Neugarten did my Jaw Surgery for my overbite and 3 years from that time and I still believe that the best decision of my life was choosing him as my surgeon. The staff at the office are very friendly and Dr. Neugarten is completely transparent and happy to address any concerns and questions, from the day we met to our yearly post surgery appointments. Wouldn't recommend anyone else over Dr. Neugarten!

Dr. Jay Neugarten is the "Real Deal" I want to let anyone reading these reviews know how this terrific doctor has changed my life. I am eternally grateful It was thru a "twist of fate" or as I truly feel - divine intervention that I found Dr. Neugarten. I was in a denture for several years as a result of a series of unfortunate circumstances and I was miserable beyond words. I felt life was over for me and I had fallen into a hopeless and deep depression. I went to consult with not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4 but 5 other dentists. They all told me the same thing ..... there is nothing they can do for me, I had too much bone loss and they could not place implants any longer. I would need a block bone graft in a hospital, I was too "old" , it does not always work, the time involved would be years, etc, etc, etc All bad news. I was despondent I found Dr. Jay Neugarten at NYCOMS and went for a consultation. He said "OF COURSE" I can help you and when the shock wore off my face, I did not hesitate and scheduled the surgery as quickly as I was able and took his 1st available appointment. I am now out of a denture within a month of meeting him and have a new lease on life. There are Zygoma implants that are placed into the cheekbones that by pass the normal implant sites and help those of us with extensive bone loss. No other Doctor mentioned them to me as an option. They obviously didn't know about this specialized procedure. Dr. Neugarten is "Cutting Edge", a skilled surgeon, a really compassionate doctor and knows his "stuff" His team is top notch, his office is professional. I would suggest that you look no further. Dr.Jay Neugarten and NYCOMS should be your choice.

I am eternally grateful to Dr. Neugarten for giving my back my life! About 2.5 years ago I was accidentally injected with local anesthetic into the inferior alveolar nerve. I was told by every neural and oral surgeon that the pain was permanent and I should learn to live with it. When I went to dr. Jay Neugarten, he told me that he could help me eliminate the nerve pain. I couldn't believe it, I did the surgery and I'm completely pain free!! About 5 years ago, I lost several teeth and implants due to dental neglect. I went to many different surgeons to reconstruct my lower jaw. I had several different infections and a few hospitalizations where I was told I had osteomyelitis of the lower jaw. I was left with a removable appliance that I could not wear due to ongoing infections. All of the specialists I saw refused to place dental implants because of severe bone loss and the position of my nerve. I was, thankfully, referred to Dr. Neugarten by the doctors who could not help me. I was told by Dr. Neugarten that he could work around my nerve and rebuild my smile. I had the surgery and I had no complications, I'm out of pain totally and I feel like a new person!!

I had a severe underbite for as long as I can remember. It affected the way I spoke, the way I ate, and, most importantly, the way I felt about myself. As a teenager, my parents took me to a number of orthodontists and surgeons who continually told me that I would need very expensive surgery that would not be covered by insurance. Though I wanted to get corrective surgery, quick Google searches continued to reiterate that double jaw surgery was expensive, would most likely not be covered by insurance, and would be incredibly difficult to recover from. I had essentially decided at some point that maybe I would just have to live with my underbite. I am now over a year out of double jaw surgery, and I have nothing but praise and appreciation for Dr. Neugarten and his team. He and his team walked me through every single step along the way and made the process accessible and painless. They helped me navigate the best options for insurance, and I was fortunate enough to get a large portion of my surgery covered. Recovery was much easier than I thought it would be or read about, and I really felt that Dr. Neugarten and his team cared about how I felt. They answered any questions I had and took the time to follow up with all concerns (pre and post). The team is extremely responsive; after surgery I sent some late night emails and heard back almost immediately. While double jaw surgery is definitely not a walk in the park, I truly believe that I had the best experience possible thanks to Dr. Neugarten and his team.

My experience with Dr. Neugarten and his office has been absolutely wonderful! I originally came to his office for corrective jaw surgery for a better smile, but my surgeries have not just given me more self confidence in my smile, but allowed me to truly breath. I didn't know how much I was missing out until I took my first breath out surgery. And it has also changed how I sleep. Before when I would sleep I'd rarely dream, here or there usually quickly forgotten, but now I actually dream and extremely vividly in which I was never able to do before. I am so thankful for Dr. Neugarten and his staff for being extremely helpful and accommodating and changing my life for the better.
