Our office is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. Because insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. Your estimated patient portion must be paid at the time of service. As a service to our patients, we will bill insurance companies for services and allow them 45 days to render payment. If you have any questions, our courteous staff is always available to answer them.

Hello Connecticut! My name is Dr. Anthony Carbonella, and I am here to serve all of your orthodontic needs. I have experience with all aspects of orthodontics, from childhood/phase I treatment to adolescent and adult orthodontics with braces or clear aligners to complex orthognathic surgical treatment. I have a passion for working with patients to create beautiful smiles, improve their overall health, and elevate their confidence.

I grew up in Hamden, CT, as the oldest of four boys. After completing my Bachelors degree in biology at UCONN Storrs, I attended dental school at the UCONN Health Center in Farmington. Armed with an amazing foundational dental education, I then commissioned as an officer in the US Air Force and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at Travis AF Base in CA. Here I received cutting-edge training in all of dentistrys specialty areas and developed an interest in both orthodontics and oral surgery.

After applying my advanced skills as a general dentist for 4 years at McGuire AF Base in NJ, I was selected to attend the militarys prestigious Tri-Service Orthodontic Residency Program (TORP) in Texas. A unique feature of our program is the breadth of the patients we were able to treat, from childhood and adolescent orthodontics to orthognathic. I became board certified immediately after graduating.

For the next 3 years, Uncle Sam assigned me to Lakenheath Air Force Base in the UK to provide orthodontics for the active-duty Airmen and their families stationed there. I was then invited to return to TX as a professor and clinical faculty member in both the Orthodontic and OMFS residency programs. I truly love teaching and believe that the better my patients understand their condition and our treatment plan, the more enjoyable ortho treatment will be!

After 11 years of military service, I am now returning with my growing family to CT, where I will be providing ortho treatment in private practice. I am here to serve you, educate you, and walk with you through your smile transformation journey.
