Dr. Katie grew up in Jasper. She graduated from Walker High School in 1991 before going to the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She graduated cum laude with a degree in Natural Science/Mathematics. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1998. She did an internship in pediatric dentistry at Boston Children's Hospital/Harvard School of Dental Medicine. She completed her post doctoral training in pediatric dentistry at the Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2000.
Dr. Katie returned home to open her practice in July 2000. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Alabama Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Katie is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
