Dr. McGonegle'spersonal mission statement is to try to treat every patient the way he would like to be treated.Dr. McGonegle takes pride in operating a warm and welcoming practice where he does his best to make each patient feel comfortable and cared for.
Prior to transitioning into Dr. Buss' 40+ year old practice in January 2016, in order to relocate to California to be closer to family, Dr. McGonegle owned and operated a very successfuldental office for 13 years in WA state. His educational background includes a B.S. from the University of Washington in 1996. He also graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) Schoolof Dentistry. Dr. McGonegle began practicing dentistry in 2002 in Washington state.
His 17 years of experience includes extensive experience performing ROOT CANALS, EXTRACTIONS, CROWN AND BRIDGES, DENTAL IMPLANTS and INVISALIGN CLEAR BRACES. Dr. McGonegle has also received certification in the use of soft tissue LASERS. He lives in Carlsbad with his family.

I had my first visit with Dr. McGonegle and his wonderful team today. I am fairly new to the San Diego area and in need of a top-notch dentist who can provide me with a comprehensive plan for better dental health. And I found what I was looking for. What a joy! So kind and helpful. Dr. McGonegle and his sweet staff are putting me on the right track. After a very thorough exam, I left the appointment feeling relaxed, relieved and very comfortable. I know I am in great hands and I am grateful. I look forward to Dr. McGonegle and his staff's quality care as they guide me through each step needed to get me where I need to be. ~D. Got into Dr. McGonegle's office at 7:30a to get a new crown. My tooth was cracked due to night time grinding. Wearing my night guard every night now. I watched Cake Boss while Dr. And his great assistant did the work. Next week they will put my new crown in place.

Very positive experience. I am a reluctant dental patient.. Dr McGonagle explained everything and was very understanding. I thought I needed a root canal(a previous dentist said I needed one). Dr McGonagle showed me the xray and showed me why I didn't need one. Completely understood a everything he said. Very gentle.

I was very sad when my dentist of over 30 years decided to retire a few years ago. Needless to say, I was a little apprehensive about the "new" dentist who would be taking his place but that feeling was quickly cast aside when I started having appointments with Dr. McGonegle. He is very personable, interested in any concerns you have, asks questions and most importantly will never suggest or do a procedure that is not needed. The staff, some of which I have known for years, are always friendly, efficient and very professional. I have recommended Dr. McGonegle to others and will continue to do so as I am sure they will be as happy with him and his staff as I am.

Dr. McGonegle took over this office a few years back. I absolutely loved the Dentist who he took over for (who I had seen for over 20 years), but I have fortunately continued to have a great experience with Dr. McGonegle. Many of the staff have worked there since the original Dentist, and they continue to provide friendly, quick and excellent service. I highly recommend this office!

I am always treated nicely, Dr. McGonegle always asks a lot of questions is always on time and has quite the operation. Today I interacted only with Melody and Jessie and both as usual were nice and spot on.

Dr. McGonegle is the best of the best! I have an overly sensitive mouth, so for me to say he is the best of the best is a big thing. My whole family goes to Dr. McGonegle and cannot imagine better dental service even exists. He is careful, professional, and only recommends what is best for his patient.

This is my experience at my initial visit recently. The entire staff is very friendly in a sincere way. I got the feeling that they were interested in me and not just presenting a face. It was apparent to me that they actually liked doing their job and that helped me to feel comfortable knowing that I found a good dentist office. When I first met Dr. McGonegle he introduced himself and gave me a short and interesting bio of his career to date. We then looked at my ex-rays on the computer and he explained to me what he saw as to the condition of my teeth and what might need to be done. He didn't seem bothered by my questions and gave me good answers even when I asked for clarifications. When it came time to pay the bill, the cost was less than I had been used to at the previous dentist. All this being said, I am really glad that I made the switch.

I have been visiting the dentist at this address for More than 40 years. Melody at the front desk is a jewel and has greeted me with sincerity and cheer all these years. While Dr. Buss has retired, I must say Dr. McGonegle is the best!
