Janzen, Janzen, & Chwa Orthodontics Ltd.

1220 Meadow Rd Suite 300, Northbrook, IL 60062

Dr. Marita Janzen grew up for the most part in Northbrook, though she was born in Holland. When her father, Dr. Ernst Janzen, decided to continue his education in orthodontics at Northwestern University, the family moved to Chicago. Dr. Marita went to Greenbriar School, Northbrook Junior High (NBJH), and Glenbrook North High School through junior year. After finishing at the American High School of The Hague, Dr. Marita went to the University of Amsterdam before coming back to Chicago for dental school and her training in orthodontics at Northwestern University. She has practiced orthodontics exclusively since 1991.

Staying abreast of the latest technologies and innovations in orthodontics keeps Dr. Marita interested in her profession, and gives her the ability to deliver the best possible care to her patients. As a member of the AAO, Dr. Marita enjoys the Annual Session meeting each spring, as well as the Midwinter meetings. She is also active in the Illinois Society of Orthodontics, of which she is a current member of the Board of Trustees.

Dr. Marita currently resides in Northbrook with her wonderful husband Bill and a new puppy named Hope. Hope encourages Dr. Marita to seize the day each morning, though much earlier than she would like. She also has two adult step children.

In the summertime you can find Dr. Marita playing tennis, trying to improve her golf game and riding her bike. In the winter, she loves playing paddle tennis, snowshoeing, and being physically active. She also enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, and trying new recipes on her friends and family.

My career in orthodontics has been extremely rewarding and satisfying. I enjoy getting to know each of my patients and watching their smiles improve and confidence grow throughout their treatment. Helping people achieve a beautiful smile and gain greater self-esteem are the professional rewards that I cherish the most.

My commitment to my patients is inspired not only by my deep desire to help them achieve oral health, but also hearing their perspectives and ideas and learning about their accomplishments. I am fortunate to have made deep and lasting relationships among the many families I treat. Dr. Chwa

Dr. Marita Janzen was removing braces from my little sister's teeth and took a huge chunk out of her actual tooth right on the front tooth. The orthodontist office denied culpability and blamed it on Dr. Janzen having health issues. Several years prior, Dr. Marita Janzen also ruined the inside of my own top and bottom teeth while removing permanent retainers. My current dentist was appalled at the damage that had been done. After paying thousands of dollars for orthodontic services you would think that the Dr. would be careful during the removal process.
