Hi! Im Katie. I am a dental hygienist here who loves building lasting relationships with patients and providing dental care that helps them live long and happy lives. I try to make each visit to the office as comfortable as possible for all of my patients. It brings me joy to watch them improve their oral health through the work that we accomplish together. Outside of the office, I love spending time with my close friends and family. On the weekends, I am attending concerts and music festivals, reading, and eating out at different restaurants.
Hello, Im Hoang and Im proud to work at this office as a dental hygienist. I love spending my time with patients as I encourage and help them maintain their oral health while keeping their experience at our office positive. In my spare time, I enjoy being with my friends, playing board games and cooking exotic foods.
Hi! Im Lexi and Im the patient care coordinator. I enjoy building lasting relationships as I strive to make every interaction with patients a personal and an excellent one. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, watching college football, and spending time with my dog, Oliver.
Becoming a dentist requires years of dedication and commitment to education. I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2002 and completed my Certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry in 2004 from the University of Maryland.
I spend numerous hours a year participating in continuing education courses that take the form of lectures, hands-on courses, and self-study. By being involved in continuing education, I am committed to providing the highest quality of dental care by remaining current in this ever-changing profession.
In 2014, I earned a Fellowship Award in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). The AGD is an organization that promotes quality patient care through lifetime learning. The AGD Fellowship Award (FAGD) is presented to dentists who seek to provide the highest quality dental care by remaining current in their profession. Completing 500 hours of continuing education and passing a comprehensive written exam are requisites in earning this prestigious honor.
Currently, I meet with other local dentists who are also invested in continuing education through the Spear Study Club in order discuss real-life cases and actual treatments with expert clinician presenting the latest techniques. This study club encourages guided learning, interaction and interdisciplinary camaraderie.
I also study at the Dawson Dental Academy, an organization that teaches principles and skills necessary for the practice of complete, high quality, and predictable dentistry with primary concentrations in occlusion, the temporomandibular joints, and comprehensive aesthetic restorative dentistry.
I completed my undergraduate studies at Cornell University in 1988, and obtained my dental degree from Columbia University School of Dental Medicine in 1992. One year later, I received my certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry from Columbia University.
The early years of my dental career were spent with the U.S. Public Health Service in northern Arizona and New Mexico. In 2004, I opened a private dental practice in Santa Fe, New Mexico and soon thereafter met my husband, Mike. We have been married since 2008 and are still astonished to be parents to our Lego-building, thoughtful son Josh, who is almost eight.
Like Dr. Woo, I enjoy keeping up to date with the latest dental techniques and knowledge. So far I have participated in over 500 hours of study at such places as the Pankey Institute, R.V. Tucker Gold Study Club, the Dawson Dental Academy, and Spear Education where the focus is on delivering high quality, complete dentistry to meet the long term health goals of the patient.
Since moving with my family to Arlington in 2013, I have worked as a dentist at the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic. In addition to treating patients there, Ive enjoyed interacting with dental students as a preceptor and adjunct faculty member at the University of Louisville Dental School and the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.
Outside the office, I love to run, hike and ski. I also enjoy relaxing with a good book. I play the violin, and enjoy playing in community orchestras and amateur ensembles. I am a terrible cook but I love to eat. I love all things wild and beautiful. I enjoy a good belly laugh with friends as well as long quiet afternoons napping in the sun.
