Drs. Janower and Monkman are committed to updating their education with courses in the latest technology. They maintain their memberships in the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Oakland County District Dental Society, as well as Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity.
Dr. Martin G. Janower was born in Detroit, and has spent his entire life within this community. He graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science degree as a Registered Pharmacist. After practicing for a short time, he continued his education at the University of Detroit, where he graduated with his degree as a Doctor of Dental Surgery.
Dr. Janower spends many hours each year continuing his education in all aspects of dentistry, including cosmetics, pain and infection control, and restorative dentistry. He has a particular interest in restoring crown and bridge and implant cases. He has been nominated by his peers as Top Dentist of the Year in Hour and Styleline magazines each year since 2008.
Dr. Janower has been married to his wife, Rena, for many years. Together they have 3 children, and 4 grandchildren. On weekends, he spends his time washing his car, playing racquetball, spoiling the grandkids, and heading down to see his beloved Detroit Tigers vie for the World Series once again!
Dr. Andrea B. Monkman was also born in Detroit, and has lived in the area, close to family, her entire life. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, specializing in neurological abnormalities and exercise/cardiac physiology, from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She immediately continued on to receive her degree as a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Detroit Mercy, where her father Dr. Janower was able to be on stage to bestow her degree.
Dr. Monkman strives to treat each patient as she would her own family. She takes special care with her youngest patients, as well as her advanced surgical cases. She also spends many hours each year updating her knowledge with continuing education courses that span all aspects dentistry. She has been nominated by her peers as Top Dentist of the Year in Hour and Styleline magazines each year since 2010.
Dr. Monkman spends her precious free time with her husband and two little girls. She enjoys exercising, going to movies, and playing with her kids. She shares her fathers love of sports, especially the Detroit Tigers and her boys, the University of Michigan Football team. Go Blue!

I can't say enough about both Janower & Monkmon! Always pleased with my results. They are both funny and personable but answer all questions about your concerns professionally. They have fit me and my family in for emergency situations. Never left us looking for help elsewhere. They are always concerned for your comfort. I would recommend them for anyone 2 years to 102 years. "10" all the way!

I've been seeing Dr. Janower for 6 years now and him as well as all of the staff here are more than welcoming and always pleasant. Never had anything even close to an issue over the years. Would absolutely recommend anyone to come here!

I have been going to see Dr. Janower and Dr. Monkman for about 20 years now and I can't imagine getting better service and care anywhere else. They are both extremely professional, personable, and truly care about their patients. Always willing to go the extra mile, to ensure your comfort and that the job is done right. They have gotten me in on short notice when I was in pain. Their staff is very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a family dentist.

My first visit to have dental work, a crown, and I couldn't be more satisfied. The dental assistant was very good and Dr. Janower has a very light touch when it came to the lidocaine injection and drilling. The next day I wasn't sore at all and didn't need to take any Motrin. I highly recommend this practice.

Dr janower is thee best dentist I've gone to, fast, excellent, very professional and customer friendly, I won't go to any other dentist. I've gone there for the past decade and I've never had any reason to complain. I love the dentist they have made going to the dentist something to look forward to!!!

These guys have been amazing for years. After years of finding dentists that tried to hard sell cosmetic services, and sometimes once even insisted that I get a quote for necessary dental work with things like teeth whitening mixed in, I finally found dentists I can trust for me and my family. For years now, I've paid to go out of network just to use this practice and it's worth every penny. They are honest, trustworthy, and have worked out expensive costs with payment plans and are very good at what they do.

I'm so glad I switched to Dr. Janower! My previous dentist would pre diagnose my cavities before they could even see them. I switched to Dr. Janower and haven't had a cavity since! He is a trustworthy dentist! Very happy with his staff too.
