We are one of the only practices in the Houston area to offer functional jaw orthopedics for children, preventing the need for extractions of permanent teeth later in life. We also treat almost 90% of our adult patients with Invisalign, an effective and cosmetic alternative to traditional braces.

Great facility, great service and very friendly staff. On my first visit Dr. May removed a lower permanent retainer for me free of charge after I told him I joined the Peace Corps. I wasn't fishing for free service, but he said he likes to give back to teachers/public servants/first responders/etc. I would recommend this place 100%

Dr. May is the best orthodontist in Houston, in my opinion. He doesnt just set you up in Invisalign or traditional braces, go through the motions and then you get what you get. He is constantly refining your program so that you end up with the best smile possible.
I have always been interested in adult cosmetic treatments, and I was the first orthodontist in Houston to utilize lingual braces in the early 1980s, though Invisalign has become the popular choice for most adults today. I feel that by continuously learning and lecturing about orthodontics I can give my patients the best orthodontic treatment possible.
I attended college at the University of Oklahoma from 1968 to 1972, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. I attended dental school at the University of Louisville from 1972 to 1973 and completed my dental degree at the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston in 1977. My postgraduate residency in orthodontics was also at the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, Texas, from 1977 to 1979.
I have been actively involved with continuing education through the entire 30 years Ive been in practice. I attend many lectures throughout the United States and I am a well-known lecturer on many orthodontic techniques, such as early treatment in children with functional jaw orthopedics, cosmetic adult accelerated treatment, TMJ problems in children and adults, and Invisalign.

Dr. May is an expert and perfectionist when it comes to teeth, which is what I admire and appreciate the most about him besides his sense of humor. After seeing him, I always get compliments on my smile and teeth. In combination with his work experience and the latest dental technology in his office, he can fix any imperfections efficiently and effectively leaving anybody with an amazing smile that will light up the room. Our entire family is so appreciative and lucky to have had an incredible orthodontist as Dr. May!

Really helpful and nice. I have very serious problem and big gap between front teeth and after Dr. James May's help I could see the gap is much smaller just in two months. The price is also reasonable and this place is a very good place to go.

After my first visit with Dr. May and his staff I immediately felt comfortable with choosing them for Orthodontic services. I would NOT recommend. So rude and too old to be practicing. was told at the beginning of treatment I would need a permanent retainer - I requested this at the end of treatment and he claimed this was never mentioned when it is written in the notes. glad I finished my treatment when I did because over time I saw his health deteriorate.

We are so grateful we came to Dr. May for our son's orthodontic treatment. After a very negative experience with a different orthodontist, we were nervous our son would be scarred for life. But when we came to Dr. May, he immediately calmed all three of us with his intimate knowledge of the invisalign process and detailed explanation for what to expect in the course of treatment. The warmth and knowledge of Dr. May and his staff as well as Dr. May's unique humor and excitement made our son feel comfortable with the process and validated as a patient. It was an absolute pleasure to visit his clinic and I would recommend Dr. May to anybody!

This place is amazing. My wife went here to get a new retainer and recommended him to me. I am older and just got Invisalign. Dr May and his staff are extremely friendly. They worked/are working with me and my insurance company to minimize my out of pocket expenses. We will undoubtedly be taking our kids here, if needed.

I felt so welcome especially being new patience. Went for a consultant and they explain everything in detail. Very transparent about the information they give me so I won't be surprised by a future procedure. Having an office dog is a plus as well. Recommend them 100 percent.
