Dr. James Tran is a graduate of the prestigious University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry and has been practicing dentistry for over 16 years. Following commencement, he began his career in Southern Californias Manhattan Beach area. In 2007, Dr. Tran became an associate in the dental practice of the respected Dr. Donald Hendrixson who ultimately retired, leaving the practice in the very capable hands of Dr. Tran.
Dr. Tran is committed and passionate about the field of dentistry and keeps abreast of the latest dental treatments and technologies in order to consistently provide the highest level of service for his patients. To remain in the forefront of dentistry, Dr. Tran regularly attends conferences and seminars to stay up-to-date with the latest dental procedures. He also believes in working closely with well-established dental specialists in the community to ensure that his patients have access to the best care possible. He strongly believes in approaching dental care from a conservative manner and promoting preventive treatment plans ensuring that his patients receive gentle and effective care.
As a resident of Thousand Oaks, Dr. Tran takes pride in the relationships he has developed with his patients over the years and the integral bond the practice has formed with the community. In his free time, Dr. Tran enjoys spending time with his wife and being a girl dad of 3. You can also find him exploring the outdoors, running, hiking and surfing when he is away from the office.

Glad I found Dr. Tran and his team. Excellent staff, very professional and polite technicians and Dr. Tran was very good at handling my check-up and evaluation. Beautiful facility too with the latest equipment. I appreciate Dr. Tran's straightforward and open approach with the sensitive issues I face with my teeth. The front desk personnel couldn't be kinder or efficient. Highly recommend this office.

I have been seeing Dr. Tran since he took over Dr. Dickeys practice and have had a great experience every time. He took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns and it didn't feel as though he was in a rush to get to another patient. Also, the dental hygienist Shay was amazing! She was so thorough and explained what was going on as well as showed me how to improve my dental routine.

I've been a patient of Dr. Tran since he started this practice. He has always provided prompt and excellent care with minimal discomfort. His staff and dental hygienists work hard to provide good care advice to minimize future problems. The office staff is very helpful and quick to accommodate any scheduling changes. Easy location with plenty of parking.

I had my 1st visit today with Dr. James Tran, and was so thankful the he was able to see me so soon for a painful tooth. Dr. Tran's staff were all so professional, courteous, and concerned about my pain. Dr. Tran spent time listening to me, and recommending a course of action. Every part of my experience was excellent. I was nervous about going to a dentist in the middle of a pandemic, but the Covid protocols at this office helped me feel safe. Everyone was friendly and helpful and I can highly recommend them.

I hate going to the dentist. I have had 2 bad experiences at different dental places. So I only come in if I have a problem. My husband has gone to Dr Tran for several years and highly recommends him so I went. The office staff was wonderful and very nice and concerned with my pain. I had X-rays and when It was time for my exam Dr Tran was very gentle and explained everything in detail . I was pleased. Karen

Have been seeing Dr Tran for 8 years; he is an exceptional, conscientious dentist. Highly competent with.great communication skills. He has provided me with options and predictions (e.g. risk/benefit of crown vs. implant, his best guess how long crown will last). In those situations, the actual longevity of the crowns has exceeded his predictions.
