Dr. James E. Sorge grew up in Cache Valley in northern Utah. He graduated from BYU and completed his Doctor of Medical Dentistry with honors from Oregon Health Sciences University, located in Portland, Oregon, in 1998. Shortly thereafter, he moved with his family to Fallbrook, located in the San Diego North County area. For 23 years, he practiced in the Avocado Capital of the world before relocating to Orange County to practice in San Clemente.

Along with providing general and family dental care, Dr. Sorge has furthered his career by studying advances in cosmetic dentistry, implantology (dental implants), orthodontics (braces), TMJ disorders and dental sleep medicine. He has lectured to various medical and dental organizations. Dr. Sorge has taken part in humanitarian projects from Oregon to California to the islands of the South Pacific.

Dr. Sorge is an active member of several professional affiliations, including the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.

He and his wife, Katherine, have four children and two grandchildren. They enjoy spending time with family and friends, trying new foods, golfing, hiking, and snorkeling. You can find Dr. Sorge in quieter times with a good book or puzzle.

Cheryl has been in the dental field for over 30 years. Over the past several years, additional responsibilities allowed for experiences in management, training, becoming our patients insurance advocate and embracing the quickly advancing technology in dentistry.

She was born and raised as a typical Orange County girl: growing up spending time on the beach, learning to ski in the local mountains and doing several other outdoor sports. As a young mother, dentistry provided a special opportunity to raise a family and balance an enjoyable career. She has three grown children and is a proud grandmother of seven adorable grandchildren

She feels Dr. Sorge is an amazing dentist. He has an artistic hand and eye for dentistry. His work is beautiful. Plus, he is a super nice guy and relates well with people. Our staff is well rounded with lots of creativity and experience.

Dana gravitated to dentistry during her college years. She has been practicing dental hygiene for over 25 years, graduating from Pasadena City College in 1985. Living in San Clemente for 30 years now, with husband at her side, they have raised three children and have two grandkids, thus far.

I love working for Dr. Sorge and being a part of the Epic Family Dental Practice. I would consider myself to be a Type A person so being a hygienist has always been a perfect fit to help patients have healthy, happy and sparkling smiles.

Kim started her career in dentistry about 30 years ago as a dental assistant in San Jose, CA. She received her degree in dental hygiene from Cabrillo College in 1992 and shortly thereafter relocated to the Orange County area. She has been with this practice over 20 years.

I enjoy getting to know my patients and providing them with high quality care. Its very satisfying when patients appreciate and thank me for taking good care of them. Im grateful Im able to work in such a beautiful, high-tech office. Dr. Sorge is an experienced, caring and highly skilled dentist and has the patients best interests in mind. He also makes us all laugh, have fun and appreciates his hard-working staff.

Kim loves her two children. Her daughter is in college and her son lives and works close in San Clemente. After work, she enjoys the local beaches, walking or running the trails, skiing, cooking and traveling.

Tiffany has been working in the dental field since 2015 as both a dental hygienist and dental assistant. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene from Loma Linda University in 2020.

Becoming a part of the Epic Family Dental practice in 2021 has been such a rewarding experience for her, specifically working with such a dedicated and caring dentist like Dr. Sorge. Being able to provide a positive dental experience and educate patients on their oral healthcare are some of her biggest priorities.

Than (pronounced Tan) graduated from ACC in 2009 and has spent the past 13 years working as an assistant in specialty offices and general dentistry. She joined Dr. Sorge and Epic Family Dental in 2021.

She was born in Cambodia and, upon migrating to the United States, was raised in various cities in Orange County. Than loves being a wife and mother. She is raising three children with her husband and best friend. Spending time with her family in the evenings and weekends brings her a great amount of happiness and joy.

Vanessa has been in the dental field over 30 years and with this practice for the past 27 years. Her family immigrated from Vietnam 40 years ago, and she speaks three languages: English, Chinese and Vietnamese.

Along with her husband, the two of them raised one son, Ethan. He is now a college student and thriving. Her doting husband loves to cook and has dinner ready nearly every day. According to Vanessa, he is a great chef. Additionally, she works out daily and enjoys any outdoor activity. The sunshine of Southern California warms, not only her skin, but heart and soul. She believes cold weather is not for her.

I enjoy working with Dr. Sorge. He is very kind, gentle and soft spoken. I love it when he sings or hums while working on the patients; that makes it a lot more fun and relaxes our patients. I am blessed to work with Dr. Sorge and the team at Epic Family Dental.
