Born and raised in West Philadelphia, I am your typical American success story. A young man with ambition (from parents without a college education raised at the end of the 'Great Depression') applies himself to pay for a college and a dental education.
I went to the nationally known Central High School of Philadelphia, proceeded with 9 years of college education at Temple University, and graduated Temple University Dental School in 1978, with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).
I established my own private Cosmetic, Restorative, and Family dental practice in 1980, and have genuinely enjoyed the role of health care practitioner, listener, and healer for all these years. I can list all my accomplishments, awards, and affiliations, the many years of post doctorial studies but what is most important to me is the joy I have doing what I do.
What I guess I'm most known for is my dedication to family, patients, and my dental team. My office is contagious with laughter, my special love for all music, and my ability to run on schedule. All in all, I'm great at what I do and I respect my patients as individuals.
Finally, you get to meet me. I am not just passionate about my profession, or 'fixing' teeth, I am passionate about YOU. I am a healer, health care provider, a smile design artist, and most importantly, a LISTENER. When we meet, it is my job to enable us to understand each other. For me, I must hear what you are saying, not just your words. I must realize what you see, what you want, and what you need and put these all together. For you, my wish is that you are comfortable, confidant, and understanding that I will be there for you. It is important that we see eye-to-eye, that you understand your dental health and your personal needs and goals.

Dr. Rhode is great! Has a great knowledge of dentistry and a great sense of humor. The staff is very friendly and eager to make you feel comfortable. Alex at the front desk is an absolute quality that's almost non-existent in medical offices anymore. A great dentist and good people, that's all I can ask from a dentist office anymore!

I just had my 6 month checkup and the dental technician was excellent and friendly. Everything went smoothly and best of all no cavities. Dr. Rhodes is the best dentist I ever went to. I have been going to him for over 20 years and he is still the friendly person and provides excellent service.

Horrible COVID precautions. Were told ahead of time that masks would be worn by all staff. Front desk manager was not wearing a mask at all. Were told assistant and dentist would wear N95s. We did not see any N95s. This dentist is also rude and demeaning to patients and family members. Look elsewhere, especially if you have anxiety about the dentist or COVID.

Do not go here. The office and practice is outdated, the front desk is disorganized, the dentist is rude. There are so many options when it comes to dentistry, save yourself from this place.

Dr. Rhodes is an awesome dentist who will no doubt be inducted into the Dental Hall of Fame one day. Hopefully, he will never retire because if he does science needs to start working on a cloned version of him which must also include his wit and the ability to interact with his patients.

5 stars total trust. Dr. Rhodes and his staff do everything possible to make you comfortable and especially when have major work to be done I have total confidence in their ability I especially appreciate that I get the right amount of Novocaine where I don't feel the pain my mouth is not numb for 2 days he puts it exactly where it needs to be

I was his patient. His work was so bad that I couldn't put up with it; I have spent thousands of dollars at a prosthodontist to fix his poor work. James Rhode is the worst dentist I've ever met! I wonder how he graduated from the dentist school. Stay away from him if you don't want to regret later.

How many of you remember what you did last Monday? Spent 3 hours in the car? Waisted 1.5 hours trying to login to your account at work after a weekend? Stood there in the supermarket line? I found a better way to start my week - with a visit to my dentist. When you are there, you are in the company of your friends and your collaborators. They will listen and be happy to advise you on the next few steps. They will be there for support and, ultimately, they will continue to deliver the best results for the dental work that the modern dentistry can offer. Thank you, team Rhode.
