Dr. James Tharp received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Northwestern University. He has been practicing dentistry for over 35 years and has completed several courses offered by the Pankey Institute and Dawson Academy. He is the President Elect of the International Academy of Mini Dental Implants and has completed the requirements for Mastership status.
Dr. Tharp is currently an evaluator for the Gordon Christensen Clinicians Report. He has studied with Joe Massad (prosthodontics specialist) at the Massad Institute. He has taught for over twenty five years in several areas of dentistry in seventeen different states, and three countries. He has dedicated his professional career to providing you with the best that dentistry has to offer. Dr. Tharp believes when you love your work, it shows.

Very nice place to have dentistry work. All staff is very nice and explains all involved. Was at previous dentist for 35 yrs but this will be my place to go

Disappointing, unprofessional. He took advantage of an much older senior, he talked her into $20,000 in implants. She's having problems and the teeth don't feel right and his reply is "you have to get used to them". Took her to someone to look at, they and her regular dentist all agreed the issue is from the implants, too many teeth, & they're loose. Would not recommend Tharp.

I had a great experience at this dentist office! The staff were so kind and friendly, which made the whole experience much more enjoyable! Dr. Tharp was also very nice and funny! He was able to help with my problem and explained the cause/process to me in a way that I could understand, which I greatly appreciated. The whole staff seemed genuinely interested in getting to know their clients and making sure they were comfortable. I would highly recommend this office to anyone!

Dr. Tharp and his entire staff were wonderful. The professionalism and compassion for what is not a comfortable procedure was truly evident. I was so apprehensive about how I would feel during and afterwards.Dr.Tharp and his staff quickly eased my concerns and truthfully my pain was barely noticable. When I tell peoole I spent 4 hours in a dental chair with minimal pain they all asked for his phone number. You can rest assure you will be in good hands here and at a very competitive price.

Besides exceptional service the entire office staff was very friendly and engaging.. Dr. Tharp explains in detail what he's doing, not only is his work very, very good but he tries to make sure you are completely satisfied once the work is done. The hygienist that I saw on my last visit was also very good at her job explaining in great detail what she was doing and why and also what I needed to be doing in terms of maintenance on my teeth ( the few that I have left anyway ). I would highly recommend them to anyone

I got my first mini implant here 5 years ago. At that time I couldn't find any other dentist who would do a mini. Dr. Tharp was the only one doing mini implants, so I took my chances since it sounded so easy and cheaper ( half price of a regular implant). I was very impressed with his knowledge and work ethics. The extraction of the old tooth and implant placement took what it seemed like only minutes and no pain afterwards. Now I tell everyone about minis and recommend Dr. Tharp to anyone who needs dental work. Just few weeks ago he saved me again when I was in dire pain from an absested tooth. He was able to take me in the next day and I walked away with the new implant.

Dr Tharp has been great for me. He provided the service as he originally described it. All of the follow up processes were also just as he indicated they would be. The process I had was not cheap but he provided great care and aftercare. I would recommend him to others if asked. Mary M.

The staff there were excellent , they make you feel safe and important ! The dentist was extremely good at explaining everything I needed to know about what I told him I wanted. At that point he went ahead and put together a great plan that I could begin now with a Transition down the line when I would financially be in a better place to then get the ones I would prefer for my permanent teeth! Then the nurse who also was kind and very helpful through showing me my financial choices as well as answering all my other questions! I I was very very Happy with my experience with them!! I will be returning!!

I have been going to Dr. Tharp's offices for almost 20 years and have never had a bad experience. Dr. Tharp and his staff are very polite and courteous every time I have an appointment. They are also very good about explaining things so that i understand everything that will be going on during my appointment. Top Notch!!!

I was looking into switching dentists and I heard of Dr. Tharp from a family member. My appt. was this morning and I had the first, no pain cleaning/ checkup ever! Dr. Tharp was very personable & made it easy to understand what was going on with my teeth & what I need to do. Along with him, the dental hygienist was equally as friendly and caring for me throughout the appt. I cant believe I would say this, but I am actually looking forward to my next dentist appt! I would recommend him & his practice to anyone who wants to be put at ease, feel welcomed & cared for, sincerely.
