Lisa joined our office in January of 2012. Her goal is to make every patient feel right at home, and she builds relationships with each and every person that comes into the office. Always committed to answering your questions regarding your account or insurance benefits, Lisa is proud to be part of a team that is devoted to their patients. She enjoys coming to work every day and being greeted by a welcoming team and Dr. Stewart who is dedicated to his work and patients. In her spare time, Lisa and her husband enjoy spending time up North with their daughters, Nicolette and Samantha.
I feel extremely special to have been added to Dr. Stewarts dental team. I am a devoted wife and loving mother of 6 (crazy) wonderful children. I have been a dental assistant since 2001 and have loved every minute of it. I am thankful to have been blessed with such a great opportunity to work alongside a great dental team with wonderful patients. I am looking forward to the days ahead and hoping to help you smile.
Brittany joined our team as a registered dental hygienist in 2017. She earned her Associate of Applied Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 2014 from Wayne County Community College School of Dental Hygiene. From 2012 to 2014, she was class Vice President. Brittany has earned certifications in the administration of nitrous oxide and local anesthesia. She loves the opportunity to work with a team that is truly concerned about their patients wellbeing and oral health. She looks forward to building relationships with her patients and helping them maintain positive oral health habits. Outside of the office, she enjoys traveling and reading.
I am so lucky to have been selected to join the dental team at Dr. Stewarts practice! I am very proud to work with a team that truly cares about not just your oral health, but your overall health as well. The atmosphere is fun and the staff and patients interact like long-time friends. Most importantly, I wanted to be added to this team because Dr. Stewart really cares about continuing education and staying up-to-date on new ideas and technology, and improving ways to treat patients. I believe feeling confident in your smile is a huge step in the self gratitude we all deserve and I love helping people achieve just that. I have been practicing dental hygiene for 3 years now and am excited to treat and get to know the patients in this practice for many more!
My dental-care philosophy centers around developing a relationship with my patients. This begins with sitting down and talking with you, first and foremost, to get to know you and become aware of your dental needs and desires. This creates a level of trust that we hope evolves into the lasting relationship that we value so much. We want you to have optimum oral health for a lifetime.
I believe it is important that my patients understand their dental health, and that we discuss their needs and concerns. By way of proper diagnosis, comprehensive treatment planning, and patient education, we help our patients achieve their oral health goals. I am also committed to continual education, which helps me provide the state-of-the-art care I feel my patients deserve.
Dr. James R. Stewart, Jr., graduated from theUniversity of Michiganwith a B.S. degree in microbiology, and then earned his D.D.S. degree from itsSchool of Dentistryin 1987. The following year he completed a general practice residency at theSinai Hospitalof Detroit.
Dr. Stewartregularly takes continuing education classes so he can provide the best care for his patients and offer them the latest advances in dental treatment. He has completed the curriculum at the prestigiousDawson Center for Advanced Dental Studies, and continues to take additional courses there. In addition,Dr. Stewartcompleted the Advanced Prosthetic Training Program at thePostdoctoral Dental Studies Institute. He also participates in several local study clubs.
Dr. Stewarthas earned a fellowship in theAcademy of General Dentistry, an honor achieved by fewer than 10 percent ofdentistsin the country. He is active in his local dental society and serves as chairman of the Peer Review Committee.
Dr. Stewart is also a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. Treatment of sleep apnea and snoring is one of his passions and he continues to study and take advanced-level courses in this field.
In addition, Dr. Stewart was awarded fellowship in thePierre Fauchard Academy. The honor is bestowed by invitation only and is only awarded to dentists who have made outstanding contributions to the art and science of dentistry or to society.
A strong believer in giving back to the community,Dr. Stewartworks withDonated Dental Services, a national program for disabled adults who need, but cannot afford, dental services. He and his staff also participate every year in the Give Kids A Smileprogram,providing dental care for children from low-income families. At halloweenDr. Stewartand his office hold aHalloween Candy Buy Backwhich helps supportOperation Gratitudeand also keeps his patients smiles healthy.
Dr. Stewart and his wife, Janet, have two sons, Paul and Mark, who are both Albion College graduates and live in the area. When not in the office, Dr. Stewart enjoys traveling, golf, bowling, snow skiing and following University of Michigan football and basketball, all with friends and family.

Probably the best dentist in a 50 mile radius. Actually cares about your well-being, not just your wallet. Has a good staff that seems to have very little churn. Very modern office with all the latest dental innovations. The robotic x-ray machine will even show if your neck arteries are becoming clogged. I've probably recommended him to a dozen different people, and everybody agrees he has the best chair side manner. Don't keep seeing a dentist who you dread, and is still using tools from the 1950's... you'll thank me later.

i had always lost sleep the night before a dentist appointment until i started seeing dr. stewart. everyone (receptionist, hygienists, etc.) is incredibly kind and accommodating. dr. stewart explains everything that goes on in your appointment, answers questions when you have them, and calls to check up on you after a procedure. i could not ask for a better dentist!

I cannot praise the services of Dr. James Stewart and his staff highly enough! After a very disappointing two year attempt to get a new oral appliance, I was referred to Dr. Stewart by my Sleep Disorders physician. Even. In the midst of the pandemic, my initial call was responded to immediately and a plan developed for my eventual treatment. Efficiency is the hallmark of this practice. Online forms allowed me to provide the relevant preliminary information so that insurance matters could be addressed before my first visit. That level of efficiency and expertise was even more evident when dental offices opened again and I first visited the practice. Before I left that day, xrays and images were taken of my mouth, options for the oral appliance discussed with me and molds done. Within the month, the appliance was ready for my initial use. As another example of attention to detail, Dr. Stewart and R made certain in subsequent visits that the appliance was working effectively and answered all of my questions about its use. If one is looking for a Dentist with patience, concern for cleanliness, efficiency and expertise, Dr. Stewart's practice should be made a priority!

Great Dentist. My wife started visiting Dr. J. Stewart for Sleep Apnea related issues. He has been thorough, caring and effective. I had gum related pain which he resolved it with a great technique. I recently had a grinding teeth issue, so he made a bite-splint and now the jaw pain is gone! Plus, all the staff are a plus and friendly - from Britney (Hygienist), to Rachel (Dental Asst.) and Lisa (Reception).

After our daughter was finished with orthodontic work and had her braces removed, we had a local dentist perform cosmetic bonding on her to make her small, pointy teeth fuller and fill in the gaps in her smile. We were unhappy with the results and the proportions of her teeth, and the bonding was already beginning to chip after a few months. Additionally, she has very sensitive teeth, and despite that the procedure is not invasive, the filing and buffing to smooth out the bonding was actually quite painful for her. We came to Dr. Stewart to see if anything could be done to correct the problem. Dr. Stewart and his staff were incredibly friendly and attentive and very accommodating with our tight schedule. Dr. Stewart was meticulous in his examination and actually took impressions of her mouth to render a wax model on which he carefully simulated the application of bonding material. Based on this Dr. Stewart was also able to give me a written estimate of what needed to be done, tooth by tooth, and also what it would cost. The removal of all old bonding material and application of new material took four hours, as he anticipated. He used local anesthetic to keep her comfortable during the entire procedure, and she left very happy with a beautiful smile that looks absolutely perfect. Thank you Dr. Stewart and staff!

This is actually J Mist. I am a patient that transferred from another Dentist and getting treated for Sleep Apnea. I had broken my appliance that I desperately needed to get a good nights sleep. I have been treated for afib and without that appliance I could risk a reoccurrence. I contacted Dr. Stewarts office and spoke to Lisa. She was so kind and helpful. They managed to get me in the same day. My appliance had to be sent to NY for repair. They were told that it would take 10 business days to repair. To make matters even worse, I was leaving for vacation the following week. Dr. Stewart's office, managed to get the appliance over nighted and returned in 5 business days. My first impression is definitely a 10 star. Thanks for the professional experience. I highly recommend them and will continue to be his patient.

My dad had all of his teeth completely replaced with dentures because he's 93. He's so happy and can eat any and everything!! Dr. Stewart is so kind and caring and even came to meet us at the office when we had an emergency after hours.
