Originally from humble beginnings, Dr. Olsen spared no expense as he transformed our Ann Arbor, MI dental office into a comfortable, state-of-the-art safe haven for even the most troubled of smiles. We provide only the most precise and thorough dental techniques available to our patients. In addition, when it comes to fillings, crowns, and other restorative care, we only use metal-free materials such as porcelain and composite resin in order to ensure maximum satisfaction and comfort.
Dr. James Olsen is an Ann Arbor native. He holds two degrees from the University of Michigan, with a bachelor's degree in psychology in 1984 and then graduating from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1988. Dr. Olsen opened his private practice here in Ann Arbor with just one operatory and one employee. Thanks to the support and loyalty of his patients, our dental office has grown into a beautiful, state-of-the-art, high-tech facility capable of delivering the highest quality dentistry available. Dr. Olsen's team has grown a bit, but they havent sacrificed the personal connections they enjoy with each our patients.
A passion for learning has led Dr. Olsen to regularly pursue advanced training and education in all facets of dentistry. Because of his interest, he regularly attends local and national dental meetings, achieving an average of over 100 hours per year of continuing education. He has taken his knowledge and skills as a clinician to the next level by attending the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. During his studies at LVI, Dr. Olsen learned the most advanced methods in cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry. His training also included advanced education in neuromuscular dentistry. This has drawn many patients to his dental office seeking relief from years of TMJ and headache pain.
Dr. Olsen has been a big supporter of local baseball and soccer programs through his participation as a coach with various teams while his kids were playing sports. He has also sponsored many teams and events and been active in numerous community projects as well. He supported the Saline Fiddlers and other Saline music programs while his kids were participating. Now Dr. Olsen supports, programs such as Saline Area Social Services and the Foundation for the Saline Area Schools. For fun Dr. Olsen enjoys any activity outdoors and traveling with his wife.

I suffer from horrible TMJ pain, and Dr. Olsen was recommended by a different dentist's office. His consult (free) was very thorough, and he explained everything well. Now I'm planning the next steps with his office.

Horrible experience! I took the day off work & they didn't have time to clean my teeth or fix one of them. He said he was too busy! I made an appointment for a cleaning & to see the dentist. Felt like I was dealing with a used car salesman! He trys to sell you services that insurance doesn't cover. He said I need invisilign before even looking at my teeth. They wouldn't do a regular cleaning that my insurance covers! Insisted I need a scaling cleaning which is over $400 out of pocket! I do not take well to someone trying to take advantage of me! FIRST & LAST TIME I'll ever go there!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

Dr. Olsen has been our dentist for years. He provides excellent dental care, and being in our 70's we have presented him with challenges such as crowns, bridges, implants and veneers. You name the problem, he fixes it! The practice has the instruments and the staff to excellently provide the oral care needed to help us keep our teeth and gums healthy for years to come.

Dr James Olsen and his staff are extremely professional and skilled at what they do. They treat patients with kindness and respect. Dr Olsen always listens and explains treatment patiently. After 2 years of TMJ pain, I just completed successful TMJ treatment followed by Invisalign treatment through them with excellent results. I am now pain free with fully functional jaws and straight teeth! My husband also received Invisalign from Dr. Olsen with excellent results.

I have just started my journey with Dr Olson. Today was my 3rd visit. I was recommended by a Dr to see him for jaw pain and headaches. Who knew the two could be related. Let me say it has been two weeks since I started wearing a mouth guard and what a difference. I am starting Invisalign in three weeks. Dr Olson ask you what you want out of him. LISTENS. Dr Olson and his staff are amazing.

Dr. Olsen is the best! I have spent 15 years and two other tmj specialists trying to recover from an injury to my jaw after a car accident. Dr. Olsen is the first dentist to do careful testing and made an appliance that works. I have far less headaches. I thank him and highly recommend him!
