Sharon Bryson was born and raised in Bryson City. She has one daughter who lives in Denver, CO. Sharon has worked as a dental assistant helping make smiles in Bryson City for over 25years. She brings a wealth of experience and compassion to our patient care team.
Dr. Jim Ridgeway is originally from Williston, South Carolina and graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina dental school in 2009. He served as a dentist in the United States Air Force and received anadditional year of residency training. Through the residency Dr. Ridgeway gained additional experience in root canal therapy, wisdom teeth extractions, sedation, and treatment of TMJ and sleep apnea. He entered civilian life in June of 2014 and decided to bring his family to beautiful western North Carolina.
Michelle Evans was born and raised in Waynesville, NC. She graduated from the dental hygiene program at AB-Technical College and has over 20 years of dental experience. She and her husband have a daughter. Michelle joined us in 2018 and has been a welcome addition to our practice.
Rena Ensley is also a native of Bryson City. She has a son who is currently finishing his PhD at Yale. Rena attended SCC and spent time in Texas after school. She returned to Bryson City in 1993 and brought her organizational skills and caring personalityas our insuranceand patient care coordinator for thepractice.
Ali is a native of Asheville, NC, but calls Bryson City home. She and her husband have 2 sons and a daughter. Ali is the welcoming face you will see at our front desk and keeps things runningsmoothly and efficiently with her variety of skills and medical background. During her spare time she enjoys going to the beach and cruising with her family.
Janelle Waliezer is originally from Washington state. She graduated from Clark College in Vancouver, WA. In the year 2000 she moved to Sylva, NC and has been a part of this practice since 2008. She and her husband, Gary have three sons and she spends most of her spare time watching them play sports!

Love all of the staff here. Dr. Ridgeway is super gentle and kind. Highly recommend.

I'm totally terrified of dentists and never leave reviews, but my experience was so good that I was compelled to speak of my experience. The entire staff was wonderful but Dr Ridgeway was calm, patient and exceeded all my expectations. I would highly recommend him for any of your dental needs.

I have always found Dr. Ridgeway and his staff to be welcoming, friendly, and professional. My hygienist, Audrey, did an excellent cleaning, and she made me feel quite comfortable.

Amazing dentist & amazing staff!! I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Ridgeway & his staff. I walked into his office at 2:30pm on day 2 of my vacation to Smoky Mtn National Park with a completely broken off front tooth! Everyone was so compassionate & understanding AND he not only saw me yet that afternoon, he also temporarily cemented my tooth back in. If I lived in North Carolina I would want him to be my dentist & also for my family. I highly recommend you give their office a try. Your smile will thank you; take it from someone who's had extensive dental work their entire life. I know a professional when I am lucky enough to meet them.

Super sweet staff is the shining moment of this office. It really feels genuinely honest and open and concern about you the client. I live almost at hour away now but still go here for checkups because of how awesome they are!

Alli that works the front is always sweet. Renee is, well, we will say "okay" just not really helpful and most of the time that dull attitude. I handed these people over 1,000 in CASH for a single tooth because my insurance wouldn't cover it. And come to find out (just found out) Renee was filling my insurance with BCBS wrong from the get go. Besides this, I do not mind to spend the money for legitimate services. I came back to the second appointment for a filling and films. Within ONE WEEK my filling fell off. I called to let them know that this had happened.... I was on vacation. They wanted to fix it- BUT I owe $259 for that filling that I no longer have intact, and who wants to let him "try again"? They would not take anything that I owed off of the bill- I offered to pay partial. My new dentist is putting a crown on the "lost filling" (in which BCBS is paying for because it is being filed correctly). Ridgeway is gentle, but that doesn't make up for the rest of his services. Services are from the time you enter the door until the time you leave SATISFIED. I don't think any person in a right frame of mind would pay for services half done. Not good services. Renee had the time to talk to me while I had my debit card... until I mentioned that I thought this wasn't fair and only wanted to pay partial, then she didn't have the time to speak with me! I'm almost certain I will not get a call back "after she speaks to the dentist". I feel this was a waste of my time if I'm just going to turn around and have to go back to let him fix his mess ups. This is the right dentist for you if you want to have to ARGUE with a lady with a bad attitude about insurance, money owed and wrong doings. This is also the dentist for you if you have all the time in the world out of your work schedule, family schedule, college schedule.... to go back several times to let him fix his mistakes. Good luck.
