James R. Karpac, D.D.S., M.A., M.S., practiced general dentistry from 1981-1986 as a Doctor of Dental Surgery and has been a practicing Orthodontist since 1989. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1978 with a Bachelors Degree in Economics and in 1981 from the College of Dentistry at The Ohio State University with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree.
After completing a General Practice Residency program at The Medical College of Ohio in 1982 and before attending the graduate program in orthodontics at Ohio State in 1986, Dr. Karpac practiced dentistry in various environments. During that time, dental licensure in the State of Colorado was achieved, as well as Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Karpac graduated from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1989 with a Certificate of Orthodontics, a Masters Degree in Oral Biology, and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration. Dr. Karpac is a Clinical Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University, in the Department of Orthodontics.
Dr. Karpac is a Board Certified Orthodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Professionally, Dr. Karpac is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists, The Ohio Dental Association, and the Columbus Dental Society.
Dr. Karpac says:I like to travel the world and photograph landscapes, people, animals and the culture of where I am. I like to put those photos in both offices to show the world to my patients. I am fortunate to have traveled all over the world, and I am grateful . Seeing other cultures puts a perspective on where we live and how we live. We are fortunate. I also enjoy golf and music. As far as golf, I always lose! You never beat the gameit always beats youbut its fun because its a game of challenge!
Hi, my name is Tracey and Ive worked with Dr. Karpac for 20 years and have been in the orthodontic field for 25 years. I live in Orient with my husband Scott, my two kids, Dylan and Taylor, my two dogs, Peyton and Paisley, and my cat, Lionel. I enjoy reading, working in my garden and hanging out with my family and friends. I look forward to meeting new patients and helping them have a beautiful smile.
Hello, Im Tracy and I love the field that I have chosen and the people I am fortunate to work with. Ive worked in orthodontics for 20 years and the best part is getting to know our patients and helping them achieve what they came to us for, a gorgeous smile! My family is what I enjoy outside of work, my children Courtney and Brandon and my fur babies Bella and Jax. We love music, being outdoors and of course the buckeyes.

My second child to see Dr. Karpac has now gotten his braces on. This office is exceptional and makes it fun for the kids. We definitely trust this doc of 25 years .+.

I was nervous to get orthodontic treatment as an adult but Dr Karpac's office had provided great experience for my entire orthodontic journey. Maryann is always super friendly and managed to get me in as needed. All the staff is super friendly. Their location is convenient and always decorative. Dr Karpac is knowledgeable and good at what he is doing. I would definitely recommend him if you are looking for orthodontic treatment.

Dr Karpac is a great doctor. Very detailed and humorous as well he explained everything in detail to us it was a long journey , he took great care and the support staffs also awesome I strongly recommend this dental care to my friends.

Dr. Karpac is phenomenal! If there were 10 stars, I would rate it accordingly. He is a perfectionist which you want when it comes to your smile. He knows what he is doing. Dr. Karpac is honest, and if you are not doing your part to make your smile a success, you will know, lol. He has worked on me, extended family, and my children. I have had braces 3 other times, and this is the first time I feel my that my smile will be corrected a d stay that way. His staff is wonderful. They are all personable. I would recommend this office to anyone I know.

I LOVED my experience here. I loved walking in every appointment and seeing Maryann. Dr. Karpac is funny, informative and always made sure I'm as comfortable as possible. Tracey and Tracy are awesome! They made sure to take care of me every time! Great staff, always smiling. I'm sad to have my braces off because I will miss seeing them. But I'm grateful for my new beautiful smile! I listened to what they told me to do and had my braces on and off in 17 months as planned. Thanks so much Dr. Karpac and staff!

Dr. Karpac has seen all three of my children and has been wonderful. The office is so friendly and always willing to help schedule for your convenience. The staff made all my kids feel at ease and comfortable. I highly recommend using Dr. Karpac.

If I could give less than one star I would! I had braces on for two years only for Karpac to refuse to put on a retainer, only causing my teeth to get worse over time. After paying thousands of dollars to get my teeth fixed with braces they are now worse than when we started, thanks to this place. He was cocky about his methods even though not putting a retainer on after braces is just plain stupid. Absolutely terrible treatment, avoid this office.
