Dr. Hawks is dedicated to providing individualized dental care for every patient. His goal is to deliver the best preventive and restorative care to help every patient have a healthy, beautiful smile for a lifetime.
Dr. James Hawks graduated from the University of Iowa in 1985, with a doctorate in dental surgery. He has been actively practicing general and cosmetic dentistry ever since. A lifelong learner, Dr. Hawks is committed to continuing education and has completed many hours studying varying principles and specialties in dentistry. In addition, Dr. Hawks has studied at the Spears Institute and the Kois Center, both prestigious institutions aimed at helping practicing dentists reach a higher level of clinical excellence.
Dr. Hawks offers his patients a personal touch by focusing on them individually when they visit his office. He believes in patient education and spends time with each patient ensuring their needs are met and any concerns are resolved. He wants to build long-term relationships with his patients, to ensure lifelong oral health care.
A member of the American Dental Association and the Iowa Dental Association, Dr. Hawks also contributes his time and expertise to Smile Squad, a traveling dental clinic that offers dental services to at-risk children. He loves spending his leisure time with his wife, Margie, and his two children, Tanner and Jake. He also enjoys golfing and traveling.

Stephanie received her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from Kirkwood Community College. She focuses on helping patients and being a team leader. She loves traveling, playing recreational sports and cheering on the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Misty received her RDH designation from Des Moines Community College. She strives to ensure our patients always feel 100% informed and comfortable during their visit. To her, there's nothing more gratifying than educating and helping patients overcome their dental fears. When Misty is not spending her free time with her son, you can always find her doing a new DIY project.
Sheila received her RDH designation from Kirkwood Community College. She takes pride in the close relationships she develops with her patients and enjoys helping achieve optimal oral health. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and exercising.
Christine received her RDH designation from Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Illinois. She has the ability to make everyone with whom she comes in contact feel like a long lost friend, even when they are meeting her for the very first time. Patients adore her cheerful personality! Christine has two sons and three grandsons that she loves spending her time with. She also enjoys her two cats, antiquing, reading, and politics.
Shanda received her RDA designation from Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, IA. She loves helping patients and seeing the results of her work through their smiles. She is married, with two children. She enjoys running, reading, boating, and spending quality time with her family.

The hygienist did an amazing job and she was beyond professional! She was very gentle and meticulous! She did a great job of explaining everything! Everyone was very nice and helpful. It's a very relaxing environment.

First time visit. No wait. Full explanation of all the work to be done. Constant checking to make sure I was OK. Friendly and professional. Never fun to go, but this is as good as it gets.

The hygienist was very personable. She was also very complete in her examination. Dr. Hawks did an excellent job of explaining my dental health and challenges. He made recommendations for my dental plan of care with the decision to be mine. I felt very comfortable with him.

Everyone at the office was very polite and professional. I was made to feel very comfortable and I really appreciate that they took the time to ask me my concerns and do a thorough check up. I was given suggestions but not made to feel like I had to do anything; I would definitely recommend this office!
