Dr. James H. Garvin is an accomplished dentist who has been practicing in Batavia for 32 years; he is a second generation practice owner, serving Batavia for 59 years. Highly educated and well trained, he graduated in 1978 from Batavia High School and attended the University of Kansas, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1982. He then graduated from Northwestern University School of Dentistry in the class of 1986.
In addition to his studies completed at Northwestern, Dr. Garvin enhances his knowledge of the dental profession and his clinical performance by attending numerous continuing education courses throughout the year. He is dedicated to creating outstanding smiles for his patients using the latest technologies available. His affiliation as a Dawson Dentist, one who cares for patients at the highest ethical and professional level, gives him a unique skillset when treating patients.

Our staff is highly skilled, uniquely trained and aims to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient! Our staff members have specialized training, multiple certifications and years of experience treating patients with the highest level of care. We stay current with the latest in techniques and technology by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars, such as the Chicago Midwinter Dental Meeting and different seminars with local area clinicians and referring specialists.

I was referred to Dr. Garvin to have a front implant. Dr. Garvin is simply a magician. He made my new tooth look like my old tooth. Both Dr. Garvin and his staff are sweet, friendly, helpful and kind. I will definitely be back for other dental needs and refer others to him. Thank you!!

I've been going to Dr. Jim Garvin for many years. Technically is he is very good, and is very conscientious about his patients having a pain free experience. Great relaxed office atmosphere, and a wonderful caring staff.

What a wonderful dentist and staff! I live in the city and was in the area on a Friday when my temporary crown fell off. Molly was so terrific, She got me in to see Dr. Jim. What a lifesaver! The office is very welcoming, I felt like I had known them for years. Such a comfortable and enjoyable experience! It was so good I'm considering making the drive from the city to see him again. Highly recommend!!

Dr. Jim, performed my root canal today. My first!! One that I was told I needed over a year ago, August. I thought since I had no pain there was no hurry. Today went very well and I had no pain durring the procedure. Tooth is not fractured so Temporary crown in 2 weeks after healing. Premant crown the following month. Thanks Jim!!!
