After serving in the Air Force, Dr. Ference opened his practice in Johnstown. He is one of only 17 dentists in Pennsylvania board-certified by the American Board of Oral Implantology This is the highest designation of skill attainable in the field of implant dentistry. He has been placing and restoring implants since 1986. He was the president of the Northeastern United States and Canadian section of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. In addition, he is a Senior Associate Editor of the international Journal of Oral Implantology, a major research publication presenting leading edge research articles worldwide. He also served as Editor in Chief of the AAID News, a publication read by over 5000 dentists worldwide. It features continuing education opportunities for dentists and various specialists interested in developing more skills in the areas of reconstructive dental procedures, particularly as it relates to bone and soft tissue grafting and implant placement and restoration. He served on the Continuing Education Committee of the AAID choosing speakers and topics for the national meetings that are held annually. He has also been awarded the designation of 'Fellow' of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. This is a title awarded to those who have met the challenging tests and demonstrated many years of successful implant experience.

I was late in posting a review but I really want to commend Dr. Ference in doing a great job with my infected tooth last year. I've been with another dentist for years and I had a root canal done by him. Well, it got infected and I went back to him several times but he still couldn't fix the problem. I was always in pain whenever he tried to close it. It was the weekend and I was in so much pain so I was so desperate to find a dentist that could fix my tooth and also the pain. I wasn't sure if Dr. Ference was able to take me because I just called his office in the morning. But Julie was so nice that she gave me an appointment that day. I was so thankful that I found Dr. Ference. He was so patient, very thorough, traditional but very experienced. He explained everything to me and he was able to fix my tooth. He even called me after clinic hours to ask how my tooth was doing and if I was still having pain. Dr. Ference is very highly recommended. He's one of a kind.

Broke my wisdom tooth in half on 3-18 and he saw me on 3-19 and extracted it. Very friendly and answered any questions I had. Would definitely recommend.

So glad I found him to be my dentist! Him and Julie treated me like family. He is outstanding, patient, caring. I have terrible anxiety at dentists and he really put me at ease and was just so patient with me. He is an excellent dentist and his wife Julie is the sweetest woman you could ever meet. I called about a broken tooth I had had for awhile and my dentist had passed away. Julie gave me a same day appointment to be seen and got the work done a week later. Thank you for your excellent services.

Called this dentist on a Saturday morning, we are not patients. My husband's face was so swollen and he was in terrible pain. Dr Ferrance saw him right away. He treated him like family. Did emergency dental surgery and helped him that day! Office staff are kind and so nice. We are switching to Dr. Ferrance! Amazing experience in a world of subpar healthcare. Top notch folks!

Dr. Ference took the time to talk to a stranger on the phone when i was looking for info on sedation for work i need done found his web site a few days ago so i called he spoke to me for 14 minutes about my concerns making me feel more at ease so thank you for that talk very kind of you 5 stars isnt enough . Thank you

Excellent dentist! My only complaint is they will NOT call you back like they promise too! My other complaint is my dentures I had made there. They really moved around in my mouth from day one. They said come back we'll try relining them and see what we can do. I went back multiple times ( because they told me too) never knowing I was being charged ( I thought it was part of the follow up)! My insurance ended up paying close to $400 and they still want $74 from me, and my dentures are still the same! They did nothing to them and want close to $500! I could have got brand new dentures for that much! Other than that he's a really good dentist!

Dr Ference is a very good Dentist . You can call him any time you have a problem and he will usually see you that day if it's an emergency or the next day. Most of the time you won't feel any pain. His work is very good.
