More than 100 years later, Loma Linda University is part of a world-class academic medical center. Our pioneering efforts in health and wholeness have touched lives worldwide and positioned us as a leader in health science research. Every day, we work in service to our communities and underserved populations everywhere.

While a lot has changed since our humble beginnings, our commitment to our values and beliefs remains constant. Today, tomorrow and always, we commit ourselves to our singular mission: to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ.

At Loma Linda University Health, our calling to diversity, equity and inclusion means providing opportunity and access for all people. These principles are critical to continuing the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ. Our aim is to foster a culture where each person in our community feels valued, supported and empowered to achieve individual and collective goals.

Diversity: The Loma Linda University Health community reflects a myriad of demographic characteristics, identities, perspectives and backgrounds. We believe each individual person is unique and our differences provide the potential for greater strength, innovation and creativity.

Equity: We believe in providing resources to ensure individuals have the opportunity to achieve success. We commit to fair treatment and the elimination of barriers that have inhibited access, professional growth and advancement by underrepresented groups.

Inclusion: We desire for all members of our community to experience a sense of belonging, a high level of engagement and shared decision-making. Furthermore, we believe it is vitally important for each person to strive toward understanding the needs and perspectives of others.

Loma Linda University is designated a Minority-Serving Institution (MSI) by the U.S. Department of Education under Titles III and V of the Higher Education Act. As an MSI, we can access more benefits and funding to build infrastructure, expand academic programs, and develop resources to improve the success of low-income and minority students. Were proud of this recognition and excited by the opportunity it creates for continued improvement in diversity, equity and inclusion.

LLUH serves the Seventh-day Adventist Church in its mission 'to make man whole' physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. The global purpose of the organization is to continue Christ 's healing and teaching ministry. This is accomplished through education of healthcare professionals, scholars, and scientists, through delivery of healthcare, and through research.

Loma Linda University Health was created on March 27, 1997, when the constituency of Adventist Health System, Loma Linda met and voted to change its name to Loma Linda University Adventist Health Sciences Center.

The constituency also voted to change the bylaws making LLUAHSC (pronounced 'lew-ask') the corporate member for Loma Linda University, as well as Loma Linda University Medical Center. On March 30, 1997, the Loma Linda University constituency met to change the bylaws of the University to reflect the new corporate membership relationship with LLUAHSC

Had an abscess for 15 yrs plus and he literally removed it and had my bone graft in within minutes. I told him I was driving an old car for years and he was like being treated by a pit crew for a Ferrari. Thats the best way to explain that he is an expert in what he does. I am beyond satisfied by mt treatment and experience.
