When I was an adolescent, orthodontic treatment changed my life so much that I decided to become an orthodontist. Every day I am thankful for the great pleasure of seeing my patients of all ages grow in confidence and self-esteem, just as I did. I am so excited to have the privilege of being a part of my patients orthodontic transformations. Having a beautiful smile can truly change their lives for the better, and I am proud to help my patients achieve all their smile goals.
I graduated from the University of Montana with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Pre-Health Science and Zoology. I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota and completed my General Practice Residency in Queens Hospital, Honolulu, HI. Before specializing in orthodontics, I practiced general dentistry in Lolo, Montana. I was awarded the Certificate of Orthodontics by the Oregon Health Science University and have been a practicing orthodontist in Idaho since 1986.
By being on the cutting edge of orthodontic education, I can provide clinically excellent care with the best results in the shortest time possible for my patients. I participate in continuing education because I find it enjoyable to provide the highest quality of care that I can. I have always been inspired by associating with those in my profession who lead the field in innovative, superior treatment and service. It is so important to me to constantly improve my clinical skills and patient care that I attend many weeks of continuing education per year and have been mentored by outstanding orthodontic and dental educators across the country.
My staff and I have worked together for years. Every year we enjoy practicing more and share the same love of serving our patients. We have had the privilege of serving different generations in the same families and hearing about the difference our care has made in their lives.
I have an amazing team of intelligent, responsible, hard working staff members who individually have been with me for 15-25 years. They have great families and are involved with and well respected in our local community. I am impressed with how supportive they are of the practice, each other, and me. They are truly a joy to work with.
I am married to my soul mate, Mary-Alice. She is a physician who practices family and emergency medicine. We have been blessed with seven amazing children, ages 18 to newborn. At this point in my life when I am not working, you will find me at soccer, hockey, and volleyball games, music recitals, drama programs, school activities, or driving to lessons and practices for one of these events. I am a soccer Dad with a capital D! I stay active with swimming, biking, running, weightlifting, downhill or cross-country skiing, hiking, and rowing when I get the chance. I also enjoy Bible study, reading, and time with family and friends.
When it comes to our dedication to the community our parents have been our inspiration and standard. My father exemplified servant leadership as president of a large construction company in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. My wifes father is a minister and her mother is a doctor who both served as missionaries in Pakistan. Our family is a living, breathing part of the community. We feel life is about relationships and giving. We have benefited so much from our community that we cannot even begin to repay this blessing!
My life has been enriched being involved with so many unique people with different life experiences. However, I am always amazed at how similar we are. We share the same hopes, dreams, and needs for our families and ourselves. I feel that I can truly make a difference in my patients lives by serving them in such a way that they are encouraged and empowered to make a difference in their lives and the lives of others.

Having orthodontic treatment myself made such a difference in my life that I wanted to be a part of helping others change their lives. In our practice, I get to meet with patients at their first visit, and guide them through treatment. I also help explain various financial options so patients feel comfortable about the payment process. I have been working here since 1990, and enjoy sharing smiles with patients every day. My husband, Phil, and I have two grown children and one beloved granddaughter. I enjoy walking, hiking, practicing yoga, and celebrating National Pie Day!
I am a patient advocate. I help patients get all the information to make the right treatment decision for their lives and their budget. I started in general dentistry then went to orthodontics because of the positive affect we have on patients. I joined our practice in 1990, and love working for such talented and happy orthodontist. We give our patients something to smile about! After work, I enjoy cooking and hiking with my husband, Rick. I also love visiting my two grown children whenever I can.
I have been working in orthodontics since 1993, and love getting to know every patient who comes to see us. We have a great staff at the office, and our doctor really loves what he is doing. We work together to change lives for the better! At home, I am married with two wonderful children. I enjoy boating, swimming, and hiking with my family in my spare time.
I love what a pretty smile does for ones confidence, and I enjoy helping our patients get the beautiful smile they always wanted. I started working in our practice in 2001, and am lucky to work with such a great team. The doctors and team members make this office a fun and relaxed place to work, and a wonderful place for our patients to visit! Outside the office, I enjoy wake boarding and watching my daughters compete in their favorite sports.
I started my orthodontic career in 1981, and truly love what I do. Our patients are so happy with their treatments, and I love getting to know them and watching their smiles change. The people I work with are like my family, and we all work hard to make each visit a wonderful experience for our patients. When I am not at work, I take care of my dog and three horses, and love visiting my two grown children.
I love the ability I have to meet new people through my job, and help change a small part of their life with their smile. I have been working in the orthodontic field since 1979, and love seeing the beautiful results we achieve for our patients. I love being able to talk with the people who come in, and get to know them on a personal level. The kids keep me inspired because they are so honest! When the work day is over, I get to come home to my husband, Mark. We have two children and three beautiful grandchildren. In my spare time, Mark and I love riding motorcycles!
