Dr. Jacobsen attended dental school at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. He graduated with honors in 2002 and returned to his childhood home of Astoria, Oregon, where he practiced for the next eight years. In 2010, after reaching his lifetime quota of rain, fish and chips, and trees, he and his family decided to make a drastic change they sold their house and moved to sunny Central Washington. In 2010, Dr. Jacobsen assumed the practice of longtime Ephrata dentist Dr. Doug Beaudry. In 2014, he merged practices with another retiring longtime Ephrata dentist, Dr. Gale Campbell.

Dr. Jacobsen strives to provide the most progressive, up-to-date dental care for his patients. He avidly pursues continuing education and has completed the 500 hours required for Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. He also passed a rigorous 4-hour comprehensive test on all aspects of dentistry required for that award. He participates in a monthly Spear Study Club, where he and other general dentists and specialists discuss complex dental treatment planning. He has served as President, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer of the Grant County Dental Society.

He believes in being active in the community. He is President of the Autism Society of Grant County, participates in Rotary, and serves as a volunteer leader in his church. He has sponsored and made donations to the Grant School Walk-a-thon, Columbia Ridge Glow Run, the American Cancer Societys Relay for Life, the Coulee City Last Stand Rodeo, the Autism Society of Grant County, the ACH Foundation, the Ephrata Chamber of Commerce, and Ephrata High School.

He and his wife Laura have 3 children, and they feel that Ephrata is a great place to raise a family. Hes had a fun time learning about the rich history of the area, and he also enjoys all the nearby mountain and road biking opportunities. He and his oldest son have weekly hiking adventures and have explored many many miles of rocks, lakes, and sagebrush. They have both been very fascinated with the Columbia Basin Irrigation Project as well as all the Ice Age Flood features. If he gets to sit in one place long enough, he also enjoys reading, playing the piano, and painting watercolors.

I was having some tooth pain, the team at Jacobsen got me in the next day. They took x-rays, determined the problem and got me in right then for a root canal. I was feeling better by the next morning! The whole team is friendly and professional.

Weekend approaching, a tooth that was going bad with no painful symptom began to give pain on Wednesday. I slept very poorly Wednesday night. I took all I had of 2 baby aspirin and applied Colloidal Silver around the bad tooth. I woke up feeling better Around Thursday noon the tooth began to hurt more than Wednesday. I called Dr Jacobson's office, shared my situation and my concern for a weekend emergency based on the pain level from okay to very intense in 24 hours. They made a space in their already full day for 2pm. Dr. Jacobson had x-rays taken, prepared a protocol and quoted a price to remove the tooth. At 4pm Dr and an assistant prepped me, sedated me and started the procedure. I believe that the process took substantially more time, supplies and effort than what was expected. It must have worn out the first assistant as a second one took over after over an hour. Dr and his staff worked till it was completed. Closing is 5. I was in the chair till 6:09pm. Dr Jacobsen and his entire staff were very professional, courteous, very warm and caring. It is clear that Dr and staff strive to do the very best. Their building inside and out is well maintained. They have the tools needed to provide the high quality service that they provide. I have been in business over 40 years. I know many challenges to providing high quality services. Dr Jacobsen and his entire staff have achieved excellence. Thank you for taking me in even though you were already to capacity. I would not be looking forward to this weekend. Thank you, Art Wenholz Lifespan Systems, inc. Mold Remediation Specialist

Settle in for a story: The highlight is that if my family and I lived REMOTELY local to Ephrata, Jacobsen Dental would be our forever Dentist. We were vacationing at Sunlakes Park Resort when my 7 year old started getting a toothache. By the 3rd day she was scream-crying (you know the sound) herself to sleep and we had to figure out WHAT was happening with her. So I packed her up at 6:30AM from camp, headed to Ephrata to BEG someone to see her. It was horrible to see how much pain she was in, but she was very adamant that she DID NOT want to leave to go home. I don't normally let a 7 year old dictate our vacations, but she was the one in pain and so I kind of left it up to her whether we stayed the duration of our trip, or headed home. I showed up to Jacobsen Dental at 7:15am (a full 45 minutes before they open because in my sleep-deprived state, I had read the hours wrong on Google). We were greeted by a man on a one-wheel out front who joked about us getting bonus points for getting there early. That is when I figured out my mistake about their hours. I replied "well I don't have an appt either, so I am just living on hope right now". I asked if he was also there early, to which he replied, "I am the dentist." Whoops. I then described what was going on and he got me in the moment a couple of his assistants showed up, which was actually 30 minutes before they officially opened that day. As if that weren't enough, they got my girl some prescriptions to get us through our camping trip including one day when we were out of one of them, the Dentist Brian went in to his office ON HIS DAY OFF to write her another prescription and then went so far as to drop it off at Safeway pharmacy FOR US so we would just be able to come to town once it was filled. Did I mention that another employee, Laura, called to check on her not once but on two different days after we were seen and at least one of those days was a day the office was not even open??!! I have NEVER experienced such amazing bedside manner from any other dentist or medical clinic in my entire life. Like I said, if this office was even within 30-60 minutes away from me (we are way on the west side of the mountains) this would be our forever dentist. If you live in or near Ephrata, you need to make Brian Jacobsen your dentist now, you won't regret it!
