The Jacksonville Dental Society (JDS) is an affiliate of the Northeast District Dental Association (NEDDA). The organization was initially started on July 27, 1911, with the name: Jacksonville Society of Dental Surgeons. The organization was later incorporated on December 5, 1969, with the name: Jacksonville Dental Society, Incorporated.

The primary purpose of the organization is to provide continuing education to its member dentists, and their auxiliaries. This is accomplished by a series of Dinner Meetings throughout the year. The Events Calendar of this website lists the projected speakers/programs for this Fiscal Year(1 June-31 May).

The organization also works to represent organized dentistry in the Greater Jacksonville area. Currently, JDS has approximately 215 Active members and approximately 17 Retired Life members on its roles. JDS also manages the annual Give Kids A Smile initiative in the Greater Jacksonville area. This event is generally held during the month of February.

The JDS encourages, and welcomes, all dentists in the Greater Jacksonville area to join our organization, and become a part of our mission to support dental education, community service, and professional comradery in our area.

Dr. Christopher Henry has been treating your friends and neighbors with high quality orthodontics for more than 15 years. He is trained in both pediatric dentistry and orthodontics, and has helped thousands of patients achieve trademark smiles. Born and raised in Mississippi. Dr. Henry attended Mississippi College and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry before he started dental school. His passion for pediatric care and orthodontics led him to his first residency training at the University of Kentucky, where he earned a certificate in Pediatric Dentistry. One day after completing his pediatric residency, Dr. Henry began his second residency in Orthodontics at Saint Louis University, where he earned a Masters of Science in Dentistry. During this period, he taught part-time in the orthodontic department at Southern Illinois School of Dental Medicine and found time to work as a pediatric dentist in the local Boys and Girls clinic in downtown St. Louis. His master thesis evaluated the temporomandibular joint stability post orthodontic treatment with a Herbst appliance with Dr. Terry Dischinger. After completing his orthodontic residency, Dr. Chris Henry was an associate in a practice in Jackson, Mississippi. When Dr. Chris Henry is not seeing patients, he enjoys spending time with his family and beautiful fianc Suzanne. He has been enjoying giving back to the St. Johns community and is looking forward to becoming a vital part of the dental profession in the Jacksonville area.

Dr. Patrick Weaver was born and raised in Orange Park, Florida, and graduated from St. Johns Country Day School. He graduated from Samford University as salutatorian with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He continued to the University of Florida, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree. While in dental school, he was presented with the senior dental student award from the Florida Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and was inducted into the honor society of Omicron Kappa Upsilon. He then completed a two-year residency at the University of Florida, where he served as Chief Resident.
