I really did have high hopes for this place, but they've done nothing but disappoint me. I started my treatment in August of 2021, when I had to get pallet expanders. It took their lab 6 weeks to manufacture my expanders, but when they tried to fit it in, it didn't fit at all. They took my x-rays again and they sent it to the lab for another expander. Another 6 weeks later, they tried to fit the new expander in, but it didn't fit again. This time, they bent the rings and forced it onto my teeth. During my whole treatment, there was a metal piece of the expanders that they bent to fit on my teeth pressing into my gums. When they tried to bend it back, they cut up my gums and barely moved the metal. By the time I was done turning my expander, about a couple days later, the right side of my expanders detached from my teeth, with the left side still fully cemented. It was late at night, so I had to go in next morning for an SOS appointment. The front desk, being rude, told me that I should've called them before coming in, even though I could barely talk. I tried to text their texting support number, but that didn't work. So, they took out the expander, realizing that they forced it on my teeth the first time. They had to bend it again, forcing it on my teeth. I had to restart my whole turning process, and instead of my expanders taking 4-6 months like they said, it took about 10-11 months. Great. But that's not the only issues they have. Scheduling has to be the worst here. Most of the appointments I make are the latest appointment they have. We are not in the city on weekends, so if we were ever to make a Saturday appointment, we would have to cancel all our plans and stay in the city. I booked a 5:30 appointment one day, and by the time I reached there, the office is locked up and the receptionists are standing outside asking me what I am doing. I told them I had an appointment right now, and they said that the doctor left a long time ago. Great. They told me that my appointment was for 5:00, which it was not, I had an email proving that it was for 5:30. I reschedule that appointment for I don't know how many weeks later, because of course, they are always overbooked. After that appointment, we left for the summer and I had booked an appointment for when we came back, and sure that was probably the very few appointments that went accordingly. From there, I needed to get my bottom braces, so I set up an appointment 6 weeks from that appointment. 6 weeks later, they tell me that they are closed on the day I booked my appointment, and they tell me to reschedule again, a week later. It's Saturday now, and I arrived to my appointment 15 minutes late. In the past, if I was ever late, they would call me and confirm that I was still coming, BEFORE they would cancel my appointment. As I mentioned earlier, we are not in the city on weekends, so we had to cancel all our plans for this appointment. I arrive at the office, and they tell me that it's been 15 minutes so they canceled my appointment. Wonderful, all for a 30 minute appointment. Now I have to reschedule on a school day, and the appointment MUST be in the morning. It cannot be in the evening because it's a "long" appointment. I've had nothing but issues and disappointment since I have begun my treatment here. If you really want to have a smooth, efficient treatment, do not go here.

Edit/addition: I went to a second follow up today, because the attachments to the Invisalign keep coming off. I understand that I may be taking them off incorrectly, but I am only 2 weeks into a new treatment. Also, it could possibly be the way they are being attached is not good enough? ..But of course, blame the patient and on top of that, the doctor is so arrogant and annoyed he refuses to even talk to me, the paying patient. He was so dismissive. His office manager who acts conceited and disrespectful, has the audacity to tell me they are seeing me out of courtesy. They are seeing me because the office is getting paid for my treatment which includes follow-ups and readjustments. Office has nice esthetics and seems neat, however their supportive clerical staff is very unprofessional and immature, and, unresponsive. I feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome at this office. If it wasn't because I'm already paying towards this treatment I'd take my business and money somewhere where the doctor/office actually wants to help.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for the best and most effective dental treatment. Staff is very genuine and caring. Dr. Adam Shaft is very detailed oriented and will give his best. He is not your typical orthodontist who is too busy to spend time on his patients. Last but not the least, a big shoutout to Ilonka. Staff like her have made this place so warm and welcoming. I am glad I chose this place both monetarily and experience wise.

After seven years of braces it's finally time to get them off. Thanks to the staff at JH Orthodontics and especially Amy for being so kind and helpful :) Would definitely recommend!

Patient for several years now and I cannot wait to be done with them. They function like a sweat shop; they are always too busy to provide proper customer service - both in person and on the phone. They forget you on the phone or say they'll call you back without taking your info. Once I had to ask who she's gonna call if she doesn't have my number. They care about getting you in the door & full payment; after that, you don't matter. They are disorganized and clueless unless you're calling to book an appt. That they can do - like robots. The wait time is always ridiculous, despite having an appointment. And try getting an appointment when you need it - ha! That's a joke. This place is pretty in pictures but really, what does that matter when the service is horrible?! What's worse is their management is no better. Of all the medical interactions I've had, they have to be one of the worse. It shocks me that so many people rave about them. Low standards I guess.

I had such a great experience in this place. Ive been a patient at this place for 3 and a half years and all the members were so kind and funny. Dosyleny and kialy were very friendly and they helped a lot. I've seen great progress with my braces and I finally got them off today. I love the results.
