Dr. Steven Hoard continues to devote his career to helping individuals like you achieve the smile of their dreams and maintain excellent oral health. In addition to being a local New Bern dentist, Dr. Hoard teaches other dentists the latest advancements in restorative and comprehensive dentistry at the renowned Dawson Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Relying on over 31 years of experience in the field of dentistry and a commitment to ongoing professional education, Dr. Hoard has perfected a variety of dental treatments including, crowns, bridges, implants, and veneers. His adept ability to replace cracked, worn, and missing teeth allows him to create smiles that last.
Dr. Hoard attended the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, for both undergraduate and graduate dental studies. He is a sustaining member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the North Carolina Dental Society. He also is a charter member of the New Bern chapter of the Seattle Study club for dentists.

Always seen with care and treated well. Dr. Hoard and his team care about people and their teeth. In today's "social distancing" climate, they have done well to protect themselves AND their patients. Still providing great personal dentistry in 2022!

I am not one that likes going to the dentist. It took over 2 years after relocating to New Bern to finally use my dental insurance. All I can say after visiting Dr. Hoard's practice is shame on me for waiting so long for dental care. I am forever at ease having a dental care home here.

Dr. Hoard is the most gentle and caring Dentist I have ever had the pleasure to meet. My case was extremely difficult and he faced it head on knowing my anxiety and panic attack history. He was reassuring and never did I experience any pain. His Staff is the same. Just the best!

I myself work in a dental practice. To avoid taking time away from my own patients care, I decided to see Dr Hoard on my time off for dental services. I only have nice things to say about his practice and their quality of care. The assistants are extremely warm and welcoming and Dr. Hoard is personable and experienced. They are willing to work with you to achieve the results you are seeking. I highly recommend this office. He is also one of few dentists in the area that have completed the Dawson Academy, and working within the dental field myself, I know how important this can be. If you are looking for a dentist in the New Bern area, this is the one to see.

I waited months for an appt only to be told to go somewhere else. The covering receptionist moved a teeth cleaning appt and no one told me. Overall been a very negative experience with followup on treatment plan discussed. Poor communication with both times with the same fill in receptionist (not normal one), office in general, with unreturned phone calls for no reason.

I moved to New Bern a year ago and didn't establish a new dentist yet! Well, I lost a filling and Dr. Hoard was recommended. They got me in within a few days as a new patient.LOVED him and the whole staff. I'm so grateful and he is the most gentle dentist I have known. He does beautiful cosmetic restorations, staff is amazing! Thank you!

I can't believe what Dr. Hoard and his assistant were able to accomplish in just one evening visit! My TMJ had been killing me for months. My jaws, gums, teeth and head ached even in my sleep. Such care and compassion were shown throughout the minimal procedure and I was out quickly. I return for an adjustment very soon. I'm having ZERO pain now. Today Dr. Hoard was able to fit me into his busy schedule for two issues with my upper teeth. One was a loose crown done many years ago which he quickly fixed and the other was a gum problem which he handled and showed me how to prevent it from happening again. I though it was going to be much worse. Been going to Dr. Hoard for a few years and can think of anyone who is more professional and caring. He always explains the options for each treatment. Then there is his wonderful staff. Could not think to go to anyone else EVER. Thanks again Dr. Hoard for fitting me in today.

I have always been treated kindly here amd they are all friendly but best of all they are gentle and I have never had any discomfort with any of the procedures.
