Horrible customer service, too big of a company not enough help. I have been waiting over 2 months for them to file my insurance claim.. I have called, gone up there to have receipts printed and always there is an issue! I'm slightly appalled at how terrible the customer service is.. Repeatedly have lied and told me that they sent it and never did! Never open at the office on Florence enough where i can physically pick up receipt.

As far as the Dr. goes, he is great. I have used him for myself in the past and had no issues. My daughter had to get a tooth pulled and he is the only person I wanted for the job. With that being said, they have rescheduled her appointments too many times for my liking. As a working mother, I have to plan appointments in advance, and having them rescheduled is an inconvenience. She finally got her tooth removed and was prescribed an antibiotic that she must take 3x a day. The school nurse is not legally able to give her the medicine until the doctor signs a paper giving consent. The school nurse sent the paper to the office for the Dr. to sign on Monday and it is now Thursday and it has not been signed and sent back. That means that I have had to take time out of my work schedule to go to the school house and administer the medicine myself. I am thankful that I have a job where I can do that. However, I have had jobs in the past that I would never be able to pull this off. I have been very disappointed with this experience and will not likely to return to this office. I am also disappointed with the google review responses that I have read. I don't know who is in charge of leaving responses but they are very unprofessional and I know in my heart that this office can do better.

I would like to say these ppl are RUDE & disrespectful. They took my insurance money then schedule for me to have surgery that I took a week off from work then canceled the day of.Gave me the medicine to take before arrival then told me they are not able to do the procedure they lied & said they would call me the day before if anything would change. Liesssss also they kept hanging up on me saying I was yelling & I was trying to explain & ask questions on why nobody notified me about it the day before. I would not recommend a dog or cat the these ignorant ppl. They have time to reply to comments but yet short of staff. They are GREAT LIARS

I have dealt with a lot of dentist over my career as it takes me from city to city. I had not been in town long and had a severe tooth ache after breaking a portion off while eating. I called and they got me in right away because they could tell I was hurting. The insurance person KNOWS her stuff. my insurance doesn't cover much but she was able to get them to help me as much as possible. the wait was a little while but the person beside told me I had nothing to worry about. Dr. Lawhon was a very nice and laid back guy. He explained every thing in detail as the tooth was near my sinus cavity. I was a bit nervous but he did the procedure and I had absolutely no pain. I was kinda in shock when they told me it was over because it was over so fast. This doctor just knows what he is doing. He told me he didn't have to use some sort of packing in my sinus and get this....He instructed the nurse to give me a portion of my money back! I have never ever got a refund from a doctors office. I would say they are honest, professional and do not hurt you. thanks again

Was denied surgery after I complained about front office woman being very short and rude. Office manager said I should have complained that day. Told her I was going to wait until after my tooth was pulled so I was not treated differently by the rest of the staff and oral surgeon. She assured me no one in that office would treat me any different and that dr lawhon would not deny services because of it. 5 minutes later, I get denied service because I complained about front office staff being rude to me. With the response from the office staff, this clearly shows how unprofessional this office is ran. I told this office manager,, i never had a complaint with Dr Lawhorn, nor the paperwork process. It was the front office staff. I also don't think common courtesy is asking anyone to jump through hoops or bend over backwards.

One of the most disorganized and unprofessional offices I have ever visited. When I had my consultation, the staff was nice enough but had no idea what I was in for and quoted me for my wisdom teeth. I finally got to speak to the dentist after two hours and they took some pictures and set up my surgery. I have a tooth infection that needs to get pulled. My first appointment was cancelled the morning of the appointment but I tried to be understanding. Then today, they cancelled my appointment again the MORNING of my appointment. I was texted about the cancellation as they didn't even have the decency to call me. Then two hours later, they called me to let me know that they would call back soon to set up another appointment but I waited and didn't hear anything. I called and they told me that they had no idea when I could get it. I am completely appalled at the state of this office and this supposed "doctor". These people are the most entitled, unprofessional people. There are at least four other oral surgeons down the same road so just save your time and money somewhere else.

This is the most unprofessional office I have ever dealt with. My daughter had an infected tooth that needed to come out, had the consult, had to wait much longer than we would have liked for an appointment to have it pulled, and then the day of said appointment we receive a call stating they will have to reschedule. We had of course already taken the day off work, but they didn't care. So, we rescheduled for yet another couple weeks out, and low and behold the morning of yet again we get a very unprofessional TEXT message stating that they will call to reschedule. Now, keep in mind that this whole time my daughter has had a painful infected tooth and we have now taken two days off of work and still they are unwilling to hold up their end of the deal. Not to mention that they charge you more to use your debit card and obviously could not care less about their patients. The first cancellation was annoying but I get it, things happen, but to do this a second time and by text messages speaks volumes about this office

The staff is very unprofessional. This place is a scam. They lie about the cost of your visit. The day I went, everyone was being charged around $140. When I asked about it, the receptionist said that was the balance remaining after my insurance paid. But that was a lie because I hadn't given her my dental insurance information yet. There's so much I can say but overall: The place is a scam and unprofessional.

Overall Mr.Mark & staff were wonderful. I feel so much better and I couldn't be more apperceptive for what they have done. Mask mandate and Covid Stipulations are in place and understandable. Very clean and professional. The only thing was make sure you take a major bank card or cash. They do call you when times have open up and can be moved to closer date. The wait time is a little long but due to it being a private practice I understand everything was still efficient and effective. I want to Say Thank you!

I was referred from sexton to the lawhon office we made an appointment so the day of the appointment they let me take of work and drive an hour to my app .then they rescheduled me for two weeks out and told me the surgeon may or may not be there that day and the lady (not heather)was extremely rude with my wife. Don't recommend at all......

I don't like being forced to wear a mask for Covid, don't get too upset about it, however keeping all the doors locked and having to call to get inside (I was put on hold and had to wait almost 10 min just to get in). I was there with my fiance who had a procedure. Their wait time was insane also btw. Update to response from owner below.....Thank you for the response and you are welcome for the 1 star review, it appears I'm not alone. As I stated above, while I don't prefer mask I also don't get upset when required to wear one. I'm still trying to wrap my head around all the locked doors. I'm not making this up, the door that leads to the bathroom area on the inside was even locked, had to literally get permission from one of the girls at the desk to unlock it.

I am in shock!!! These folks are really good at what they do!! You may have to wait a little while to get to see the Doctor but when you do, it's totally worth it!! Once he numbed my mouth, I never felt a thing. No pain...no pressure...nothing. I didn't realize my tooth was out!! I definitely recommend them if you need oral surgery!!

I was told my reg dentist to have a decaying wisdom tooth removed. I waited for over a year due to fear. The process wasn't bad. The shot is kinda painful but you numb instantly afterwards. I ended up having my top and bottom wisdom tooth removed on the left side and it was so fast. I was more afraid due to anxiety of having teeth pulled but overall I would recommend this office and surgeon. Thank u.

Mr Mark lawhon is the best he is careful an great what he does he don't like to hurt anyone unlike most dentist the staff is great wonderful ppl I would recommend him to anyone an so far he is the best in Florence s.c yeah his price is high but he does the best work an will save your life if you have bad teeth

Amazing dentist. Had to get a tooth pulled as it had split and Dr. Lawhon was very through and efficient. I was in and out in 30 minutes, pain free. Additionally, the nursing staff were very nice and friendly, and helped get me in right away, which seems rare for around here. Overall it was a great experience and should I need another tooth pulled in the future, Dr. Lawhon's office will be the only one I call.
